- Evander Kane led the way with a pair of goals and an assist and Connor McDavid added a goal and an assist as the Edmonton Oilers pushed their first-round playoff series to Game 7 defeating the Los Angeles Kings 4-2.

McDavid is a force of nature. His last four periods have been some of the most blazing, skilled and intense hockey played by an individual player I've ever seen. Inspiring stuff.

Anderson had a dirty play in that scrum. He grabbed Leon by the head and hauled him down and Leon clearly tweaked something cos his leg got caught underneath him. Also kaliyev just rocked mcdavid centre ice without the puck. In the replay you can see kaliyev looking away from the play but as soon as he sees mcdavid he loads up and rocks him.
Dirty ass plays on the star players. Oilers haven’t once touched kopitar to where he was limping off the ice….
I’ll just leave it there.
Oilers will make them pay on the score sheet on saturday.

There's a difference between loading up and bracing at the last second for a hit. He did nothing to adjust his trajectory, that much is true. But in a situation like that, trying to dodge the collision is more dangerous for both parties that just taking the hit. If the dodge goes wrong, it could be a blown knee or worse
Imagine having the refs blatantly favour your team in the game, and the series, and still chant "refs you suck." Astounding.

Calgary is gonna put that series on ice unfortunately for my Stars, but I wouldn't mind seeing a best of 7 Battle for Alberta. Even if Dallas does get past Calgary, I don't feel like we're a good match up for either team(Edmonton or LAK) so it would probably be a short series anyways. Battle for Alberta playoff series would be more fun to watch as a hockey fan lol.

The Oilers are such a resilient bunch! They've weathered so many adversities & I credit this win to great coaching
Not great coaching! The coaching staff decided not to challenge that very winnable call for the non-goal. If the Oilers lose, then that call is the difference maker. You have to look at the scenario from all angles!
@@virnan They made the right call in not wanting to risk a penalty if they were wrong (they trusted their video coach who has an exceptional record of correct calls). Not worth the risk with a 2-0 lead in a do-or-die game.

Though I find myself rooting hard for (previous winners) Dustin Brown, Jonathan Quick, and Marc Andre Fleury -- but also and especially Joe Thornton (having never drank from the Cup) to go out winning it all, time truly is long past due for a Canadian city to hold a Cup parade - and John Tavares or Mike Smith hoisting the chalice would be so very sweet too - no?
Dave Andrechuck and Ray Bourque retiring as winners remains among my favorite Cup memories.
(There are so very many amazing NHL careers which do not include a Cup win, let alone one at the end of a great career).
Over the years I've found fans of the sport -- and the good of it's future -- are much rarer than fans of one particular team or another, so cheers to you, Ramza.

I usually have players I favor like McDavid, and root for the team they're in to win the cup. It would be nice to any Canadian team to win the cup right now. Some of the saves mike makes i feel like other goalies couldn’t do, however the goals he lets in every other goalie could have made that save.
That was an entertaining game! The Oilers played desperate hockey and took it to the Kings. They have to do the same for game 7 to win the series. We shall see...

If history repeat, Quick's playoffs records in game 7 is perfect 3-0. I remember when he beat the San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, and Chicago Blackhawks all are in game 7. But this is a difference Kings 8-10 years ago. Almost all of their core players from 2012, and 2014-15 Stanley Cups are gone. Game 7 is on Saturday, May 14, 2022 going to be a meat grinder. First goal of the game in any round of playoffs are very important. I hope the Kings will beat the Soilers, and move on to 2nd round.
