Thanks for hooking this one for us Wooly....
If I were stuck on a desert island with only one Van track to watch, it might just be this.
One of my most favorite Van Morrison songs along with every other song that Van wrote and sung, Yes all Vans songs and my top favorite songs of all time
Great song from one of his best albums
Clear, crystal water trickles steadily over the semi precious round stones in a hidden location, adjacent to the green grass glistening in the morning dew. The sunshine warms my heart and mind as I realize that I have finally reached home. My kilt and shawl feel soft as the wool from a young grazing lamb born in the Celtic valley. There is so much beauty in the newness of spring .Wild flowers abound amidst the purple heather. In the distance I see the ocean waves frothing and foaming against the craggy shores. This music is food for souls awakened to the imminent ascension of the faithful.Thank you for sharing Mr . Van Morrison from a grateful colleen.
You got the spirit of this amazing song
Ah now remember. It was Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues! Fabulous song.

get the album this is from and enjoy 8 more equally amazing tracks
First heard this decades ago and had it on cassette. So many songs as Dylan does and some never seem to get performed much if at all. Only song I ever heard about Arklow. I love it when Van sings Carrickfergus, and in it, the way he pronounces Kilkenny. Him n the Chieftains I think did a good version way back. Amazing artist. I actually sang on stage a Dylan song with some guys who used to be in Them with Van several years ago. Still trying to remember what Dylan song it was. Drink was taken.
How could you, you say drink was taken, only joking, you have got a brilliant memory of this happening
@@jamesbradshaw3389 the song was Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues. I do indeed have a long memory. Some say it is the curse of the Irish
Streets of Arklow
Song by Van Morrison
And as we walked
Through the streets of Arklow
Oh the color
Of the day wore on
And our heads
Were filled with poetry
And the morning
A-comin' on to dawn
And as we walked
Through the streets of Arklow
And gay perfusion
In God's green land
And the gypsy's rode
With their hearts on fire
They say "we love to wander"
"Lord, we love"
"Lord, we love to roam..."
And as we walked
Through the streets of Arklow
In a drenching beauty
Rolling back 'til the day
And I saw your eyes
They was shining, sparkling crystal clear
And our souls were clean
And the grass did grow
And our souls were clean
And the grass did grow
And our souls were clean
And the grass did grow
And as we walked
Through the streets of Arklow
