A friend of mine and myself were using coffee and a stir to sketch cars almost 2 decades ago while waiting for everyone to come into the board room for a vehicle parts design presentation we were doing. Another classmate of mine almost got a perfect grade on his colour intensity chart and he used dirt when he ran out of gouache. Its not the tools its the mind that wields them.

You could take the inside of the egg yolk, mix it with distilled water and color pigments, this is the recipe to make egg tempera.
