    I applied myself 16yrs ago (bipolar) & after 3yrs of being homeless.
    I was approved on my 1st try.
    I was told you had to be unemployed for 1 year before applying. Then I had to see 3 of their doctors, etc.
    I started out getting my $27k back pay, then $1700 plus $697ea of my 2 kids but that stopped when they turned 18.
    Now I take home a little over $2k a month plus my Wife's Paycheck which is the only way we are making it.
    I've never done anything or heard from SSI/DI since. It was just like an Auto Set income amount that I receive.
    We've applied for Medicare/Food Stamps when my Wife was unemployed & we were only approved for $9 a month, yes! $9 a month for a 2 person household at that time I was taking home $1800 a month here in TX.

      We need to keep them focused on these issues.
      like SSI
      they don't count the first $80
      This is outdated it's simply not enough.
      $80 doesn't even pay gas to get to work.
      On SSDI if you work they will review you.
      Why aren't they encouraging people to work even a few hours to pay into the system?
      They are focusing on catching fakers. They need to focus on getting people to pay into the system. Even if it's just 5 hours a week, at least you are contributing.

      After workiñg since I was 16 years old and then being injured duriñg lunchtime as I lived just up the street from my job site, I was caught in a downpour of rain, a rain squall it's called, I slipped down the landlords steps and was later found laying on the sidewalk by my daughter and the rain had subsided to just a drizzle and although there were several elderly people telling me to just lay still, that the EMS was on their way, but as I just lived next door, my daughter helped me home. Later as the pain increased I was taken to the hospital

    Ssi is income based as in if you are married and have other income. SSDI is for work credits. The max used to be 3400 a month. It may have gone up with COLA

    • @bkmarine1
      @bkmarine1 Рік тому +1

      How do you end up getting this max of 3400 or more? Is it related to you being married and or having dependents or is it related to what you were making prior to when you became disabled? My application just became 100%, so now I'm waiting for my letter as to whether I was approved or denied. Stinks that you can't just go on their website and find out, but instead you have to wait for a letter in the mail like it's 1985.

    It seems that most of the people on this channel want to get something for nothing and that is really annoying to people who have worked their entire lives and then been disabled. Permanently and completely disabled and I don't make as much as the current minimum amounts for people who have never worked! It does tend to make me very angry with the way our system works.

    I’m truly stumped, I filed for SSDI In Oct. 2022 after 45 years of flawless work with many years I maxed out the tax liabilities of my social security. I finally at age of 61 realized that I could know longer do the physical job that I was employed at for over 35 years, so I retired and filed for SSDI. I have 6 disc removed from my cervical and lumbar spine combined with a neck fusion (4) disc from my neck. I also have high BP, NASH, Gird, hypothyroidism , and degenerative disc disease in my spine and I have a total of 11 of the ailments listed by SSDI. That could entitle me for disability and I turned in many many X-rays, C-scans, MRI’s and doctor reports from my primary physician, orthopedic surgeons(2). Neurologist. And endocrinologist and yet SSDI is sending me for a consultation exam (CE) with their doctor. Do they think I’m faking or surely they couldn’t need anyone else to say that I am disabled. What gives???

They're giving criminals who aren't even cituznz automatic Disability and every service possible, including free health insurance and housing. No wonder millions are flowing in. • @TheDisabilityDigest
      @TheDisabilityDigest  10 місяців тому

      I understand your concern about the discrepancy in your estimated SSI retirement benefits. It can indeed be confusing when the numbers don't seem to add up.
      The estimates provided by the Social Security Administration are based on your current earnings record and assume you'll continue to earn the same amount of income until you reach retirement age. If there's been a change in your income or work situation, this could potentially affect the estimated benefits.
      To better understand how your Disability Check amount is calculated, I recommend watching this video: ua-cam.com/video/iatGPwY63BY/v-deo.html. It provides detailed information about the calculation process, which might help clarify the situation for you.
      However, for more personalized assistance and to understand the specifics of your situation, I would recommend contacting customer support if you are a member of the Disability Digest. If you're not a member yet, you can join us here: bit.ly/48wwOqV. We're here to support you.

    How long should a benefit processed be in your claim to complete it at a processing center? It was sent there back in July and 2 days ago a benefit authorizer has started to finalize.

    • @TheDisabilityDigest
      @TheDisabilityDigest  3 місяці тому

      The time it takes for a benefit authorizer to finalize a claim at a processing center can vary widely. It depends on several factors, including the complexity of the case, the workload at the processing center, and whether any additional information or documentation is needed.
      While it's difficult to provide a specific timeline, it's generally a good sign that a benefit authorizer has started to finalize your claim. This means that your case is actively being worked on.
      For more information on the timeline for disability benefits processing, you can watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/m_96x9SRiqs/v-deo.html. Hope this answers somehow!

      I'm truly sorry to hear about your health challenges and the difficulties you're facing with your SSI benefits. It sounds like a tough situation.
      Overpayments can indeed reduce your monthly SSI benefits. If you believe there's been a mistake, you have the right to appeal the overpayment decision. You can request an appeal by contacting your local Social Security office or through the SSA website.

      I'm now 53 & I was approved on my 1st application. It took 3yrs.
      I got more back then because I had 2 kids that got $697ea added to my $1700 a month but once they turned 18?
      That extra money stopped but this year in 2023, everyone on SSI/DI got a raise now I take home a bit over $2k a month after Medicare.

    I left my job in Nov. 2019 due to diabetes damaging the retina in my good eye. My other eye was legally blind since I was a kid. I filed for disability in August of 2020. They took until Oct. 2021 to approve me. Did I get a huge retroactive check for the months between filing and approval? HELL NO! They said I wasn't disabled until July 2021 and that I had to remain disabled for 5 months after they determined I was disabled, before I get my first check. And even then, it's an additional month for that first check to arrive so I didn't start collecting until April 2022.

The only thing we can do to protect ourselves is carry short and long term one in case of disability. But people can't afford it when they cant afford rent or groceries.

    I don't know you get $430 a month for disability. I should be getting a 1000 some I've been getting robbed all these years. I think it's wrong and it's so scared to use the same way. They cut mine and hair so what can I? Do? You say people's getting a thousand some dollars well that's a lie

      I'm truly sorry to hear about the frustration and distress you're experiencing. It's clear that you're going through a tough time, and I understand how challenging the process of applying for disability benefits can be.
      While I can't provide legal advice or recommend a specific law firm, I can tell you that many people find it helpful to work with a disability advocate or attorney when applying for Social Security Disability benefits. They can guide you through the process, help gather necessary medical evidence, and represent you in any hearings or appeals.

      @@SandfordSmythe yes they denied me SSI and I was approved for SSDI. Piggy backing that question, I was approved in February 2023 and I am still waiting for my accumulated retro and back pay which has now seemed like forever. I’ve called and went in. They’ve emailed payment center. Only to have no response. Is there anything else I can do to have them move on that?

      write your mayor
      we need to keep them focused on these issues.
      like SSI
      they don't count the first $80
      This is outdated it's simply not enough.
      $80 doesn't even pay gas to get to work.

      @@feliciacoleman3214 don't hold your breathe here is something I did my social security and they asked me to go to their doctor I went and it was the guy I was seeing the free clinic well needless to say he and me to sit on the ground and I did it and couldn't get back up his next words were your not going to live long enough to relieve your first check so I'm just going to push it threw I was shocked I have severe crohns disease at the time now its worse and I had a heart attack on the scale at the other doctors office. Then the crohns at a 2 holes in my intestines it poisoned me and I went to a coma for 2 months doc told mom pull thr plug he isn't going to get up and if he did he won't walk again because apparently I was 97lbs and I'm 5'11 so worse then a starving Ethiopian. And he would probably be brain dead won't talk.
      Mom had a pastor come and he prayed over me and 230ish in am I got up and when I got up. I had to wiggle out covers grabbed phone and I called mom didn't know it was 230 am well i left message and I hear ""HE GOT UP ., HE GOT UP AND HE CALLED HIS F**K'N MOTHER ON US." AND THAT QUOTE I REMEMBER FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. WELL TO SHORTEN UP THIS SOME I WENT TO REHAB MY INSURANCE WOULDNT PAY BUT SOME PERSON THAT WANTED TO REMAIN ANNONMOUS PAID IT ALL EVERY PENNY AND I NEVER GOT AN OPPERTUNITY TO SAY THANK YOU.
      3MONTHS AT REHAB I WAS ALMOST NEW STILL STUCK WITH FEEDING TUB AND 2COLOSTAMY BAGS. SO I WENT HOME THENBWE MOVED 2MONTH AND I WALK UP 2 STAIRS INTO THE POORCH AND I GOTBA HELL OF A SHOCK IT WAS LIKE I STUCK FINGER IN OUTLET ONLYWORST AND I GRABED THE PORCH DOOR FRAM LET MY SELF DOWN END UP BACK AT MY FAVORITE PLACE GUESS WHAT BROKE MY LOW BACK IN 3 SPOTS. What an amazing ride I've healed that and moving on and yest I walk again God protect me and he will protect anyone who believes he has done a lot for me I've died several time in last few years and God send me back and since I'm not rich to help people I share my story so that people can decide if they want to believe in GOD. I tell them I'm the breathing proof. Usually people come to me when they see my Show /race car. I had to give my self a reason to get out of bed and I had check built up from coma ect so I order parts to rebuild it and when I got home and could walk I'd wheelchair out and then sit on ground and did the fiberglass and the body kit all by hand one spot at a time with no extra help. Moral of the story is keep the faith up because if you continuely pray and believe in GOD , HE WONT FORGET YOU
      THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO LISTEN TO MY STORY AND I PRAY THAT HE WORKS THE MIRACLES IN YOUR LIFE AS HE DID IN MINE. 🙏 ❤ 💗 🙌 ✨
      HAVE AN AWESOME WEEK THING ARE GOING TO START LOOKING UP FOR YOU I CAN FEEL IT
