    I just did this to my 2014 Durango. The vehicle was running hot and I saw a constant plumb of vapor coming from the area just under the cooler filter. I followed your tutorial and even used the exact Amazon part for the replacement. Other than having to fight with that second bracket on the driver's side that you were missing, this was an easy fix. Also, I had a very hard time bleeding the cooling system, as I had a ton of air and it was causing the two radiator hoses to collapse. I use the bleeder screw on the thermostat housing to help remove the air. Thanks so much for the video!

    Thanks for the video, definitely made the job a lot easier! I changed mine on a 2017 Durango GT. The intake removal was a little different but other than that, it was spot on. To others that do the repair yourself, the replacement they sent me had 2 sensors on it while the one I pulled out only had the one so even though it said it would fit, I had to reorder mine that came with the plug so I could cap the 2nd sensor hole.

    Hi, i was wondering if i can please ask you a question i have a 2019 dodge Durango with only 45k miles. I am frustrated between the possibility that im not sure if its even possible that my Durango at such low miles that would need the oil cooler replaced just exactly how you show in this awesome very well explained video. Or in your Guess opinion i noticed that last time i did an oil change i accidentally left the top of my oil filter untightent enough where i can see still the little O ring inside the oil filter im hoping that could have caused all the oil i see on the way bottom of my transmission oil pan . And also see oil comming out of the very way top of where the oil filter connects to as well. Can this be a possibility that because i left the oil filter loose enough and been driving the vehicle for a few months now i just bearly noticed the numerous oil leaks spots n drops leaking several spots of oil in that whole period of maybe 2 months driving

      I would find a way to vacuum that oil out of the valley and rule the cap out before replacing the cooler. Having said that , I have seen these oil coolers leak at 40k , so it would not surprise me. I would take it one step at a time and keep an eye on the oil level . Appreciate the question.

    • @s33therfan

      The seals are holding up great so far , not a drop of oil anywhere. I will say , I like the aluminum housing . These engines run at much hotter temps than they used to in excess of 215 F at times. Thank you very much for the great feedback.

    Is that possible?
    Thank you for advance

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  3 місяці тому +1

      Not sure. I would back them all off and try to step them up from 75 inch pounds . Slowly increase the torque , until you feel it's not tightening. This will atleast determine how much torque they will accept. It could be they were overtitghtened previously and stripped , I have encountered this. I would say if you could atleast get 96 inch , it may be fine , just loctite the bolts. Only other option would be thread insert. Also get another inch pound torque wrench and make sure it's not the torque wrench out of calibration. Hope this helps.

    I have a 2015 durango 3.6 with a pretty significant oil leak running down my transmission and leaking onto the ground, are there any ways that I can confirm the leak is coming from the oil cooler without pulling the intake manifold?

    • @s33therfan

      @@s33therfan hey, thanks for the reply. I noticed slight puddling forward of the filter housing and promptly cleaned it up, since then I’ve not seen anymore there but the leak has continued. Is there a way the oil could only be puddling beneath and behind the cooler?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  4 місяці тому

      Yes , it could and most likely is. Unless the valve covers are leaking , it has to be the oil cooler. Those gaskets are lucky if they make it 100k. Hope this helps.

    Hello, I had my oil cooler replaced and used the new sensors, I am now getting high oil pressures and change very rapidly. Could it be a result of the after market oil pressure sensor

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  2 місяці тому

      Is the pressure itself showing high or circuit high ? These aftermarket sensors can sometimes not all the times be finicky with Dodge/Chrysler. If it's circuit high , then I would get a mopar sensor and change it out. I have had to do the same thing before , but I have also had good success with the aftermarket sensors more times than not. Keep us updated.

      @@s33therfan hey, the car runs and drives perfectly normal. I got a cel that cleared after a few trips and the code was P0523 high oil pressure/switch high input. My oil pressure also is staying high and not dropping like it normally would with the variable pump unless I’m at idle. It seems as if it’s stuck in high mode with the pressure staying between 60-85

      I would start by putting an actual gauge on it , and go from there. If the reading is still high I would replace the oil cooler. You might check the filter for debris.
