Candy O is really good for testing stereo effects. It’s recorded well and checks all the boxes. I found the MoFi and the original Elektra both sound great too. Originals are easy to find sealed in my experience.
Great Rankings! Couldn't agree more with a few exceptions: APs Joe Walsh "The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get" - Craft's Reissue of Violent Femmes "Violent Femmes" and APs The Velvet Underground" "Loaded" What a Great Year! 2025 has a very high hurdle to beat 2024!
@@MikesVinylExperience The only caveat with Craft and this release has been the disaster at Craft Recordings. This is the Craft 40th Anniversary Release of Violent Femmes. The Hype Sticker clearly states all remastered by Kevin Grey. Come to find out that a lot of the packages didn't include the Kevin Grey Master of the OG LP. Indeed all of the outtakes are remastered by Grey. It appears only a small sub-set OGs were the actual Grey Masters and the rest? NOT. Many of those who notified Craft got zero response. Some of us got the Kevin Grey Masters in the mail weeks later. I have no idea what the heck is going on over at Craft but this is unacceptable. None the less great LP if you can get it by Grey. Errrr.
I got the Bookends, Abraxas and Black Sabbath records this year and I couldn't be happier with them! Btw, I picked up Abraxas largely based on your review. Great video!
Love the Abraxas album, I thougth MOFI did a good job with it. I hope there will be more Black Sabbath albums coming on Rhino High Fidelity. Thank you so Much!
A great list and very fun video as always Mike! I was wrong as I guessed the Steely Dan "Aja" UHQR, but then later realized that one came out in late 2023. I own several of the albums on your list, but definitely need to get the Analogue Productions version of CSN. I do have the Analogue Productions version of War's Greatest Hits on the way, and can't wait to hear it. Have a happy and save New Year!
@@MikesVinylExperience Thanks for the reaction. Hopefully the recent release of the CSNY live album, is an indication that more CSNY(related) releases are coming. I personally also look forward to the upcoming Analogue Productions Buffalo Springfield SACDs and 45RPM editions. As far I know, they are planned for february/march. All the best wishes for 2025! ~Marjet
@@MikesVinylExperience You and everyone else wishes the albums were less expensive Mike! That's why I'm only interested in my absolute favorite albums on UHQR or One-Step etc...Currently, my budget is blown. I bought a Mark Levinson preamp to go with the Theta Digital mono blocks. Speakers will be last in my new rig, probably next year and possibly with an intermediate step but that's audiophilia.
Well my guess was MOFI Abraxas. I think it sounds fantastic and since I don’t have the One Step, it’s the best I’ve heard. Gaucho UHQR is a fine choice though. I own all but one of these, the Van Halen, as I’m not a huge fan of David Lee Roth. Thanks for the video.
Thank you! Abraxas is an awesome album. I grew up listening to Van Halen so they are kinda in my head. Steely Dan has been a long time favorite group of mine, I love thier sound. Thanks again!

I will have to get the Violent Femmes, and you are correct on the Velvet Underground and Joe Walsh, they are both fantastic!

Let me know what you think of War, Soung quality is pretty amazing at least it is to me. Thank you!
New subscriber here. Great list Mike! boy, do I have a lot to try to buy still lol. Hope you are enjoying your holidays as well!
Thank youso much, Its been a great holliday season so far. I hope you enjoy yours as well. Thank you again.
Excellent list especially the Hall and Oats, Bookends, and CSN album which I have remastered on Classic records
Thank you, I have a few Classic Records titles and they are all great. Thanks again.
Great video :) I also do hope that Analogue Productions will do the Manassas double album. 33RPM is ok with me, keeping it affordable. ~Marjet
Yes!!! I do have that album, OG and it is an excellent album. Love Stephen Stills. Thank you.

I own a few of these and I love the War album and the CSNY Live at the Fillmore East albums. Have to buy the UHQR Steely Dan albums. $$$$
The OG of Goucho is already a great sounding album, but I have to admit the UHQR is better. I wish they weren't so dang expensive. Thanks Brian.

Nice review. A few to many “fantastics” but otherwise enjoyable and informative.
