Another Highlander beauty written by Roger!! The video is fun with Brian, Roger, & John dressed as guys “down on their luck”. But nothing beats Freddie performing it live!! Roger also wrote DON’T LOSE YOUR HEAD .. with a John Carpenter vibe to it! Thanks 🙏🏻
No band could keep up with Queen, they did it all, and better than anyone, furthermore each member brought their own extraordinary talent to each song! This is why they are legendary! PS You've got a great ear!
Roger wrote this magnificent song for the Queen soundtrack for the movie Highlander, I believe it was a number 1 hit for Queen. The drums, the full body buzz from the bass and that spine tingling guitar are all playing so perfectly together. Then we have the vocals. Freddie is perfect and the background vocals are spot on. This song is genius!
I love how they used stereo sound in this song. So glad you put both headphones on to appreciate the left/right shifts in each part. And yes, his vocal power was insane on this recording.
Good reaction. I'm glad you noticed John's great bass playing. This is also one of my favorite. You see John and Brian smiling. You don't see them do that alot when they play.
Hi Creepy Pants 🥰 I love it when you say ‘ this is my favorite song now’ 😂😂😂 For years I felt that way after hearing almost every Queen song. It is a conundrum . My heart goes out to you 😅😂😍🥰✌🏼 Keep going… it won’t kill you 💛
Check our Radio Ga Ga, it got to number 2 in 1984 had it not been for a massive hit called Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood it likely would have been number one. The song has a great video and is iconic for the hand claps which would be adopted by the live audiences. The video is very good and also ironic as the song was written in reaction to crap music but more so about the advent of MTV and how the music video takes away from the actual song. It essentially pays homage to the power of the radio. It maybe is considered one of the best videos along with Magic and I want to break free. Break free easily tops the best of Queen music videos if voted by audiences in the UK as it shows Queens sense of humour...that is definitely one to check out as it pays tribute to the long running Soap opera called Coronation Street, which started in the 60s and is still going strong to this day... I am really enjoying your reactions and Queen journey. Sends me back in time when I started to get hooked on Queen as a 12 year old...
Loving your Queen reactions! But you REALLY should react to some of the live performances of these songs. Their love shows were BETTER than the studio versions. Freddie was a genius and an out of this world entertainer and front man!!
Roger wrote this for the movie Highlander but technically not this version. Freddie loved Roger’s concept of the song and played around with it for a radio friendly version which became a hit. Please do yourself a favor and react to the original version that was played during the closing credits for Highlander. It has a slower, more dramatic tempo and uses some of the same lyrics that are included in Queen’s song “One Vision”.
Love this song. But 1980’s production tended to not be the best. His live Wembley version is even better. It’s another song they wrote for the movie Highlander. They did all the music for the movie so though it’s old and doesn’t use computer tricks for the stunts it’s worth checking out. There’s even a part in a car where Freddie is singing New York ( an old classic song done by Liza Minnelli and Frank Sinatra). It includes their songs Its A Kind of Magic, One Year Of Love, Hammer To Fall, Who Wants To Live Forever & Princes of the Universe. Thanks❤
Hey Hon, QUESTION: Do you know what-all reactions you’ve posted that are still being blocked in some countries?? Because I knew that your Live Aid reaction was still blocked (I still haven’t seen it, which is SAAAD.) BUT… I WASN’T even aware that you’d been reacting to segments of the Wembley concert?!?!? (You mentioned having done Wembley Parts 1 & 2)? This is incredibly SAD/FRUSTRATING, if some of us are neverrrr going to be able to see some of your Queen/Freddie reactions. (Or are you just referring to the fact that earlier, you had reacted individually to several Wembley songs already?) BTW, I’m sorry… I forgot you’d already reacted to the live version of this song! (You need a Queen/Freddie playlist, so we can look up your reactions easier… or if you’re too busy to make one, maybe someone should make the playlist for you!)
I have made the playlist, it is up on my channel ! And about the blocked reactions… I’m currently figuring out how to get them unblocked ! I’ll make a post once I figure it out ! Thank you !
A perfect example of how important John’s bass playing was to all of Queen’s music!

The Boys of Queen made dashing and debonair tramps

"This is probably my favourite" - that's right, till you hear the next one! We have all been there.....
I love how they used stereo sound in this song. So glad you put both headphones on to appreciate the left/right shifts in each part. And yes, his vocal power was insane on this recording.

Wow 🥰 beautiful sweet Freddie ❤️ My first introduction to queen and dear Freddie Mercury was through this amazing song and the Highlander movie 🤩
Glad you enjoyed it
Live at Wembley is a must
Roger Taylor, the drummer, wrote this brilliant song. 😀

There is a rock 'n' roll medley live in london 1977, you might want to check out. Love all your reactions!
Omg yes definitely Rock & Roll at its best ❤❤
Loving your Queen reactions! But you REALLY should react to some of the live performances of these songs. Their love shows were BETTER than the studio versions. Freddie was a genius and an out of this world entertainer and front man!!
I have reacted to a quite a few of their live shows. And they are outstanding! Thank you for watching ❤️
Please react to Queen - Keep Yourself Alive (official video)
You got it
