Beautiful but Freddie’s interpretation is otherworldly! Check it out.

Freddie did design the Queen crest using all the band members astrological signs. He also drew the picture of Roger on Roger’s big drum. Each member was multitalented and could play various instruments, sing and create experimental music and effects. John Deacon created the Deacy amp from scrap radio and other parts and pieces. When he retired, after Freddie’s death, he gave the amp to Brian in perpetuity since Brian loved to use it to make unique sounds. Brian has said in interviews that he tried getting engineers to replicate the Deacy amp but nobody has been successful so far.

In the recorded version of this song written by Freddie for his best friend Mary Austin, for whom he called his common law wife, the song is layered and Brian learned to play a harp in it. It’s lovely too. ❤

This guy was a gift. The best rock frontman of the 20th century. Also John Deacon deserves credit for writing such a funky, catchy song. ❤

Yes! Freddie sang this song using both his soft throat voice and powerful chest voice. He could use his voice in ways that confound most people including other singers. Early on because Queen were professional musicians and rehearsed more than most they became known for their amazing live shows and experimental sounds, as well as a variety of styles. There’s plenty of songs to cover as they did 16 original albums. Freddie also co-wrote and sang an opera album with opera diva Monserrat Caballe who he adored, all while ill with AIDS. Such legends. Great version but the best is the original in 1975 which was the first music video filmed, so it could be played on Top of the Pops in the UK as it was so complex. Seeing the Queen members so young makes you even more astounded at the song’s brilliance by such young musicians. Freddie’s original vocal of BoRap is considered one of the greatest song performances ever recorded. Check it out. Freddie is wearing his white satin Mercury costume. The video cost 4500 pounds. ❤

Great to see you back doing Queen. NEVER call yourself slow,youre great. On reseach with books i have ,this is about life rushing past at a speed and fixed direction that you cannot stop,like in a car hurtiling down a motorway. A lesson they all learnt when Freddie was sick. I think this is the last video where he was so active,later he couldn't even manage the wieght of the microphone and bar. Brian is a hell of a musician 😅. He and his Red Special 🎸 still rock even today (Bri will be 77 this July 😮 and Red Special 🎸 is 60 years old)

The song is awesome and the lyrics haha are to the point! I always laugh so much when Freddie sings a line: Let me tan your hide! (That line parents used to say to their naughty children meaning: Do you want me to spank your behind?😅) ... and at the same time Roger goes bam-bam-bam-bam-bam on his drums like he is beating this aswhole of a greedy manager 😂😂😂😂 The lesson learned: Don't mess with Queen and don't piss Freddie!

A great song written by an astrophysicist /a genius with an IQ of 180 / astonishing musician with his home made 🎸 Brian May ... The time travellers and the theory of relativity (dilation of time) ... 😮 Also the title of the song '39 it has a significant meaning: Planet Mercury is 0.39 astronomical units away from the Sun! 😮 😅 Good job, Bri!

Brian May said that the acoustic on stage was so bad that they had to rely only to each other body movements. 😮They also had no sound check but because Live Aid used their sound system (at that time Queen owned the most sofisticated one) their sound engineer was in charge of the whole concert and he had lifted the limiters they were installed so Queen's performance was louder than any other musician's. But this wouldn't help them if their performance wasn't great. Of course it helped them that they rehearsed all week prior and also they smashed 6 songs in a 20 minute frame each performer was given. At the end of the stage you can see green, yellow and red ligth. Yellow light was lit 1 minute before the end and you can see (in an uncut video) that red light went on just after Freddie gesturing a band to stop playing. That means they nailed it! It's amazing how Roger on drums was keeping the tempo going all those 20 minutes exactly as needed. When you time their performance from the moment Queen came to the stage until the end they exceeded the time given only for 8-10 seconds 😮 (if you count also their arrival to the stage). It is phenomenal! Bob Geldof stated that he was on the roof of the stadium in his office and when he heard the crowd clapping in unison when Queen performed Radio Ga Ga he was amazed and also at that time the donations began rolling in (at the end of 👑 performance s sheik from Dubai donated 1 million £). The band was surprised too by audience responding and then they knew that their performance is good. All top musicians participating in Live Aid said that Queen stole the show. David Bowie who was next to perform after 👑 was like: How the f**k am I supposed to follow that?! 😮 And Elton John congratulated the band after they came offstage by: You bastards! You've stolen the show! 😅 and Freddie replied: Yes, I know. We've killed them! 😂

The song is full of emotions and Brian is singing his heart and soul out. If you want to hear Brian May sing and play his way out of a depression he had suffered for years (after his divorce and losing his father to lung cancer in 1988) and knowing Freddie was terminally ill, not been able to see his children and the horrible 1991 year when Freddie died in November) then you must hear RESURRECTION (the official video remastered) from 1992. It is mind blowing. Also amazing is late Cozy Powell on drums (sadly died in 1998 in a car crash 😮 when he was on a way to his girlfriend and has been actually on the phone with her when he crashed 😢).
