    Love the video guys, it's so good that you can spend so much time just making weapons to match whatever fantasy you want and this is without any of the magic properties that will come later as well !

    6:40 I'm literally adding this sword to my campaign with the same concept. That's so dope! Haha! A relatively useful weapon made by the city's worst blacksmith! I'm going to make it so the failing blacksmith is begging the characters to use his shortsword to save his business :)

    I remember hearing about the Meteor Hammer in DC’s video on the weapon system and having the most cinematic scene pop into my head. You are going to hit an enemy that’s right in front of you. You can’t run to get the distance so instead you use an extra AP to cancel out the disadvantage. Instead of swinging it around like it’s usually used, you just grab the meteor part and bash it into the head of your opponent.

    Can you tease us by showing what maneuvers can do with the wild weapons? :)

  • @rekcroom
    @rekcroom Місяць тому

    Ok I have since done some more messing around with the weapons system and made some pretty wild ones. One is pretty brutal and the other is just fun and stupid.
    The brutal one is for a mad scientist in a dark fantasy setting. It’s an old timey surgical saw. I gave it the Axe weapon style. Since surgery tended to be a lot more gruesome in the past, I figured doing more damage to someone who is bleeding makes sense. Then I took multifaceted and gave it the Pick weapon style. For one, a surgical saw is usually used on people who are already impaired. It’s only natural it would be more effective in this situation. Beyond that, surgical tools weren’t cleaned quite as well as they are now. Because of this, the saw might have dulled from… extended use. That means that sometimes if you aren’t careful, you’ll just pierce the patient instead of slicing them. You might not have lost your leg, but those rusty teeth aren’t going to feel good. Lastly, we have the Impact property. Let’s say the saw cuts into a vein that should’ve been left alone. Slicing that major artery is gonna hurt.
    Now for the stupid one. Spring arms. Like the ones in the Nintendo game Arms. First it is the Fist style (because of course). Then I took the Unwieldy and Reach properties. Stretching your arms out is great for range, but it’s best to keep it that way. Then I took the guard property. In Arms, every fighter has the ability to block (somehow) with their spring arms, so we can too. Lastly, it has the Capture property. You got those big hands. Grab somebody with em! Then the Fist style can do the work and pack on that damage. Would that technically be at disadvantage because of the Unwieldy property? Probably, but that’s what Action Points are for! Cancel out that disadvantage and go to town!
    I’m kind of blown away by how much flavor this system can add to weapons. These weapons are so interesting, especially the Spring Arms (though I might remove Unwieldy and Guard for practicality reasons lol). I liked the weapon system already, but making these sealed it. This is awesome.
    EDIT: Correction. Capture is only usable with the whip or chain styles. The capture thing would have been cool though.

    Brandons first & Ricks 2nd build each still have 1 point unspent. Brandon didn't spend the extra point from Unweildy, and Returning(and capture) cost(s) 0 points, as seen on the 2 premade weapons that feature them still having 2 points worth of other traits.
    Edit: As Claudio helped point out, returning costs 1 point, so Rick did spend all his points.

    • @claudio_wild

      @@astrogamer158 capture actually costs 1 point. Even though it doesn't say anything. An error that actually has to be fixed

    • @astrogamer158
      @astrogamer158 2 місяці тому +2

      @claudio_wild You're right but for the wrong one.
      Capture must be 0 points as Bolas are Toss, Thrown, Capture, meaning that for it to equal 2 points, capture must be 0. Similarly, for Net being Toss, Versatile, Capture.
      Boomerang, though, is only Toss Returning. So returning must be 1 point.
      Hence you weren't right that they weren't both 0, but you were wrong in which one was 1.
