I love those jogless joins and would be so grateful if you could show how you do them on a knitting loom. I love your channel, Shelley, and always get excited when I see that you've uploaded another tutorial. Thank you so much for making such clear and concise videos so that we can witness your brilliant, creative mind at work ❤❤❤
First of all Shelley, I must say I love your beautiful nails...I love this gorgeous beanie but as you know how afraid I have been and procrastinating doing the fair isle pattern..haha...but since you offered the Challenge I will now have to make this and try my best!!!🤩

I do not know why you do not have 100k and more followers, you are a wonderful instructor, you make it easy to follow all the steps. My main goal was to make hats for the homeless but I realized now there is so much more I can do. Thank you for making all of the videos and sharing all your patterns and ideas.
@@arleneehrlinspiel5232 Thank you so much for your kind words. My channel is only two years old. One day in my dreams, I hope that I can reach that milestone! 🥰
Thank you so much for this re-do, Shelley - now it's clear that when you're working with two colours, you always bring the skein from the centre over the skein on the outside - I hadn't quite picked that up from the earlier video, and I think I was randomly bringing either one over the top of the other, which wouldn't have helped. And, I think, with that single loose tail that you tied off to itself, if you had brought it through to the right side and used it to stitch in a couple of stitches on the right side, that would have straightened up the very top row of green and your seam would have been un-noticeable - great job, and thank you again!

That's so intricate looking I really will have to try it but I wonder can you do it at the start rather than the end in case it went wrong and it would have to be ripped out??
Such a pretty beanie. Thank you. Do you oil your machine and if yes, sewing machine oil or silicone? Seems there are two camps of opinion. I’d like yours please. 😊
@@debbieward-crochet I use White Lithium Grease and I do t do it often. I’ve had my second 46 needle now for about 5 months and use it all the time and have not greased it. @@Taytayplayshv longer does not make it wider. It just makes it longer. You cannot make a regular beanie on the 22 needle. I do have some beanies made differently just using the 22 needle. Check my beanie playlist.
Rather than messing around with placing the opposite ball in the center and all the yarn tangling, and taking your mind off the pattern, etc, simply take the yarn strand you aren’t using and lean the strand against a vertical tapestry needle that is sitting in the addi machine. This will keep that color strand out of the way while you knit a round of the other color. It doesn’t get tangled in the row and it ready to use on the next round. Time saver.
Dear Shelly: I just got my Addi 46 for Christmas. I need to know what I could be doing wrong every time and any yarn It drops a stitch on the third white needle before it hits the black it dose not matter if I start or even hit my 12 time around. J ust trying to make a simple hat. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!!! 😵💫☹😭😡
@@dianahande2052 it’s hard to know what is wrong unless I was there and could see it. Because it’s the same needle every time I wonder if the needle needs replacing. Difficult yarn, too tight of tension and knitting too fast can also be the issue.
I also have an Addi that is giving me the same problem no matter what yarn I use - so I’m thinking it might be time to take it apart and check the needles. She has a great video on that procedure. I did notice one time with a thinner yarn when my tension was looser it would drop more stitches of course it did that with thicker yarn too. I’m thinking I might just have a “lemon“.
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet Thank you Shelly. I have tried different yarns. I do the same speed and hold the yarn in my hand the way you show. I am going to have my husband replace the needle for me so it goes back in place to afraid I will mess it up.
Isn't that pretty! I don't have a knitting machine, but I'm thinking of buying one. Everyone in my family has a big head. I want to be certain I can make large hats. I could afford an Addi, but do you have any recommendations for a beginner?Great tutorial. Thank you!
If everyone in your family has a large head, Like mine, Get the Sentro machine... It has more needles and it makes a big difference. Stick to the softer yarns because they stretch better. Love that design, But I also would like it even lower, Probably an inch from the band.
I have a large head, 59cm/23in...I got the Addi and they fit me very well. Have found a lot depends on the yarn you use, cheaper "harder" acrylic is less flexible and stretchy, results are much better with better quality acrylic/acrylic mixes.
Shelley, would it be possible to have a lower volume of music in your intro if you are speaking as well? I find it hard to make out what you're saying ... Superb colours for the beanie. I'll watch properly tomorrow. It's bedtime now
