    Thank you for this video. I’m trying to work out how to do either end of a dog snood. Crochet just has no give so I’m thinking maybe this idea will work but it would only be on one end. So I think I’m right in thinking one end with a crochet end and the other using your method. I’ll give it a go later today. Your video is excellent! I’m new to Addi knitting and so is my adult daughter back in 🇬🇧 … Have a great week.

    Awesome tutorial! I just started using a knitting machine and decided to search and see if anyone was knitting them single layer. I’ve done about 3 doubled and it just seems to make too thick of a fabric for where I live. I also don’t like using twice as much yarn for one hat. 😝 So I’m going to try this method! Thank you!

    I do a safety line and then pick up the stitches with knitting needles, but this is great for those that don't know how to knit. I just hate doing all double layer hats. Everyone doesn't live in a greatly cold area that needs such a thick hat. Second thing is that it takes too much yarn to make a single hat with double layers verses a single layer hat. Especially these days with yarn prices going up and up like groceries. :( Thanks for the video. I'll try this method and see if I'd like to do it this way better. It's an option.

    • @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet
      @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet  Рік тому +2

      I did 20 which really only adds 10 rows to the brim width cause it’s folded over.
      If you do 6 rows then fold over you only have 3 rows of brim width which is very skinny but of course will work. You will also be short 7 rows then for the length. Lol….. know what I mean ?
      So if you drastically cut your brim length then add a few more rows to the body of the hat. Hope this all makes sense!

      10:08 tried again several times. here it gets SO tight for me!! On the last 10 ir so stitches i thought it was going to break machine and if i tried to turn the handle it makes the most horrible clacking sound. I couldnt get any more stitches attached so gave up. I have a Sentro not an addi, so maybe thats why

      Just follow exactly what I do.
      After the brim add 40 more rows.

      It should totally work on your Sentro. I wish I could see what you were doing. Loosen up your tension and try again. 🥰

      @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet ok I'll give it another shot! Do you mean to loosen the tension on the round im working on when attaching or to loosen tension the prior rounds?
      Im wondering if im not actually attaching stitch #1 to pin #1 which is causing some kind of rotation of the brim and by the time i reach nearly the end its twisted too tight.

    Just me or does the second row always sound like it's struggling?

      Not sure 🤔😊
      I cleaned my machine recently and it has made a big difference.

      It sounds the same on my machine as well on the second row even after cleaning

      I haven’t noticed but I’ll listen for it.

      The second row always is harder on my machine as well. I think it's because the yarn gets pulled a little tighter so the needles struggle to pop up.
