- Testing a New Bean Head-Just another instruction video on how not to do something.. Day 1 with the Honey Bee Bean Header, it took a while to get everything dialed in but so far I'm impressed. It's way different than what I'm used to.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Thank you to Honey Bee and Jason for letting us run the header! Very impressive machine!
First
@@MillennialFarmer that's not fair
@@MillennialFarmer Not only were you the first to comment, you were the first to actually watch the whole video lol. Keep up the good work.
Am also train cart driver like your son
Up here in Brighton Ont no one is doing beans yet
That crop top shirt and some cut off jean shorts will be perfect for your next summer family camping trip.
Only if he also gets some genuine white ostrich leather boots, we need to see some new boot goofin'!
@@asmrhead1560 then he could be The actor playing the millennial farmer, also playing the artist formerly known as Prince.
Or Halloween costume.
Someone at Busch is thirsty
You know, I'm told one isn't supposed to Wash their eyes out with soap! I think that's what it's going to take to get that vision out of my mind!
The girls in the combine and Oryx driving the grain cart, what a great moment
7:30
That's a good sales/product rep to be out walking and driving the grain cart for you.
Seeing him jump in the grain cart without hesitation, AND walking behind the header while it was running in the field checking for beans would have been enough for me to give them my business. Thats one hell of a guy!
He knows his products!
That is an impressive head, I can't believe it's that flexible, and a salesman who knows hi is stuff. Works for me.😎
Definitely!!
That rep for the Honey Bee Bean Header you have is awesome.
It’s so nice to see your father back in action again.
Hi I’m a 14 grain cart driver and I’m from Iowa I have bean watching your videos for the past 4 years
I happen to know Honey Bee Jason. He's an amazing guy. Goes above and beyond in everything he does. Well done.
It is great to see more Saskatchewan equipment showing up in the Midwest.
Amen to That. It's Canada tough!!!
Amen to that . 4 sure not from south of Texas. Nice. To bad,u need 2 relocate 2 America's dairy land! All kidding aside, nice family & video
Crop top is perfect! It is sure to drive Mrs. Millennial Farmer wild.
Great video I love the kids being kids
Great video love harvest time your kids are really kool
That Honeybee header looked like it was doing a awesome job Mike Mitchell would be proud of you 🤣🤣🤣
I believe you owe us a "THHHUNDEEEERRRRRR" for when you opened the cap on top of your thunder creek
I second this!
I third this
Yaaaaaayyyyyppppp!!! From the actor who plays randy the master pipelayer
Yep!
It's NO THE SAME!
Jason from Honey Bee is what every company representative should aspire to. It’s called good old fashioned Customer Service.
You have a great guy there Zac, so remember it the next time you are looking for new machinery.
Props to the Honey Bee Rep !!
Thanks for your wife bringing out the kids, lunch and editing all the video.
Your kids are great with a good sense of humor!
I LOVE Jim's attitude he's always happy and easy going I think it's raise time ☺😉😊
sup Jim...
That's a sales rep you like to see. Not just sitting behind a desk. Nothing better than being in the field seeing your product working to better understand what updates for next product.
hell of an operation you have there. You should be very proud. Well done
Honey Bee header looks good, certainly their service is good
A man with a Mt Dew and daughters, life don't get much better than that. Oh, and the lunch delivery from the wife. Nice.
Really had those beans look n clean in the hopper. Good job men.
As you get going with harvest, over here in the NW we have been done for the most part ( some corn 'silage' and 'fresh' ) and most of the fall planting is done. Good luck with your harvest!
Your vidoes are always awsome to watch
After seeing Mike Mitchell running those honeybees was wondering how that large transition plate would fare on other crops like soybeans
Be better for rocks I bet
I was very confused. I saw the thumbnail, clicked on it and was left wondering why I wasn’t looking at Mike, until I realised it was MF.
But pretty nice for an outsider like me to see another persons opinion on the headers.
Excellent advertising opportunity for Honey Bee Jason!
Time well spent.
Plus the whole getting better at learning how to adjust the header for different conditions...
The crop top is awesome. So need to wear that on the pontoon boat. Glad to see that Rianna seems to have more of an interest in farming.
Always can count on some shenanigans from you!!!!!! Love your videos !
My shirt just came in. (In case you don’t remember who I am I’m the 6’9 dude that inquired about talls being added.) AND MAN IS THE SHIRT COMFY LIKE CARHARTTS. Did I mention how comfy the shirt is? And it’s got more then enough cloth at the bottom. Is a definitive tall. Thanks again Zach
Nice to see the family. Looks like your son is doing great. Like the videos.
Its just so neat your son driving some of the equipment. He is just such a sweet young man love to see him smiling he has just a sweetest smile what a guy you’ve done a very good job you and your wife. And your daughters are beautiful.
Having Onyx running a grain cart should be a big help this harvest, even though he can't run a semi ....yet.
A friend raises soybeans and corn in northeastern SD near Aberdeen, he describes farming today as operating a grain trucking business while farming as a hobby. His closest elevator is 30-miles to Aberdeen, and sometimes it's an hour-plus for each truck each way, sometimes to farther elevators. He's hauling grain for months. The Mitchells are hauling grain up to 120-miles each way.
I'm glad to see these Farmers nowadays getting their kids involved
When you gotta go, you gotta go lol. Those kid's, are great, glad they all spend time with you on the go. WD-40, is the best lubricant, and project farm rated it number one. I am 50, and that's all I use. God bless.
WD 40 was never a bloody lubricant. Get some original WD40 and rub it in your fingers you will soon figure how abrasive it is
@@donaldtriumph1682 WD-40 is Water Displacement formula 40... developed to remove moisture from missile electronics. Based off fish oil.
Certainly are better lubricants on the market. PB Blaster is my favorite rusty nut fixer.
@@cthulhu8977 that’s nice!!
@@donaldtriumph1682 ....You are correct. Original WD-40 is mostly mineral spirits (>50%). Various refined mineral oils make up >25%. The rest is driers, fragrance, and a small amount of solvent to adjust viscosity. It is known around tech as a Stoddard Solvent. The old guys here will remember it by the trade name Varsol. The folks at WD-40 have done a hell of a job marketing the original mineral spirit formula. Of course there is now a large lineup of WD specialty products that do a fine job, but mineral spirits started it all!
I LOVE THAT YOU HAVE A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR AND ARE NOT AFRAID TO SHARE IT WITH US ALL 🤗👏
you are the absolute best Zach thanks for your humor / sarcasm
Kids are so precious
You are so blessed....in many ways.
My wife loves using WD-40 to flick the ole bean around every now and then. Thanks millennial farmer!!!
That taller pan as you called it is very similar to a 3162 case IH header..I just got it this year and it will have an air bar next year as you will see alot of beans on the sickle at times
If I had a combine, I would buy that header, especially since it comes with a grain cart operator 😆
So glad I stayed till the end. Thank you for the laugh Zach!!!! 🤣🤣
That was the best. I love the humor anyone can combine only a few can pull the shirt off
Hey Zak, when you were installing the pto shaft on the right hand side of the feeder, I noticed the feeder shaft was moving in and out. They shouldn't do that. There is a lock collar on that bearing that fails all the time. Eventually will poopoo the shaft. Just thought u should know. Happy harvest! Cheers
I second this! I'm a John Deere technican in NW Iowa and I specialize with combines. Lower feederhouse right hand bearing should have an eccentric lock collar or a clamp style toner wheel
@@bradenkuiper1420 u was going to mention that as well.
I am from US but now live in Philippines and own a few hectares of land where we farm rice and corn but we do it the primitive way. I bought a 60hp LS tractor, with ac cab, and use it to prep the fields but they are rowed by oxen or buffalo and planted by hand. Even the rice plants are planted by hand and sometimes harvested by hand and bundled up in field then carried out by men with bamboo poles across their shoulders and two bundles of rice on each side. I have video of the harvest but have never put it on utube. God Bless
As much as these deals and demo's are ads to show farmers other products, we haven't had a honey bee since my neighbour had a tr89 brand new! It's good to see an honest video of a product in use
That honey bee head seems
ok. I like how it tows down the road
I really enjoy how organized your work is and the beautiful machinery.
Dear fellow kenyan... we learning everyday
Crop top cut off jeans n cowboy boots and a cowboy hat makes for perfect combine gear!!!
The shirt is for Ms. Millennial Farmer when you get to go on vacation where it is warm, lol.
Look at you going all Mike Mitchell on us!!! Those Honeybee headers are pretty sweet!
In South Central Kansas, we didn't get but a fraction of the yield we had last year for beans. We barely got $3,000USD, but we had 12 grand last year. We didn't get much in the way of rain on them.
Now that's a sign of a damn good sales rep! Happy Harvesting🙂
New video and new off the husk podcast, pretty solid Wednesday. Thanks for the laughs!
Thanks Zach to you and your family for all the hard work it takes to keep the rest of us fed and fueled. I know only what I see in your videos about farming. The generational dedication the American farmers have is truly impressive. Thanks again I appreciate the UA-cam content. Oh by the way I admire your dedication to proper lubrication nobody likes a dry implement.
Great Millennial Farmer Video, thanks for sharing
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Now you need to get a MacDon FD2 to try out. Compare the 3 main headers available for your combine. It won’t have that big transition pan because it’s not a flex knife, the whole frame flexes. The belt is only a few inches from the knife.
I’d like to suggest Loctite brand anti seize for your splined shafts. It’s messy when you get it on your hands!
It is great for any bolt or nut you need remove several times a year. Especially galvanized nuts and bolts. I’ve used it for decades.
Take care and God bless!🇺🇸
Jason your what we all need from an equipment rep.
I used special dry lube on a bunch of stuff and it made my life easier
love the whole video but that ending!🤣 keep up the great content!
Thanks for all the videos harvest has always been my favorite time of year!
Great to be back in the fields. Best of luck with the harvest season
New video just in time for lunch. Thanks buddy. Keep up the good work
I'm sure we will see some cab beans before bean harvest is done. That is a nice mid riff shirt they sent you to show off your six pack. Lol
2nd favorite time of the year !!! Harvest season and hunting season
Perfect fit!
The Busch thing obviously.
The shirt should be a mandatory uniform for anyone working on the farm!
New camera 😍 everything is bright.
So glad you threw that shirt on!
That is a very dedicated sales rep, even running the grain cart for you!!
Good old Bush beer. The only brand that use to tell you it was beer in the commercials. I’ll take a case of it in bar bottles over these fancy micro brews out now. “The hell with the mountains, show me your Bush”.
you should a shop tour and equipment update. after harvest when your not to busy.
You are a life saver. Needed a distraction from work and you posted this.
Nice to see a Rep willing to work. None of mine want to.
the only thing that s780 needs is an American flag on the unload auger, or even better a custom American flag with the mighty moline on it. I love seeing those two combines running in the field together, hope harvest 2021 goes great for you all!
Hi 👋🏻. All the way from South Africa 🇿🇦
Where from south africa
Is there anything you’re excited to head home for? To poop. 😂😂😂😂😂 Your videos are always so awesome!!!
The short blip where you sip tha Dew, and watch your Lil girl slowly tip toe through the field, I laughed out loud!
Lolol!!!!
There should be a prize for the person who can come up with a way to make a can of spray, work UPSIDE DOWN.!🧐🤔😲!.
This is the next big farming challenge.!🧐!.
LOVE THE VIDS.🥰🥰...
KEEP'EM COMING.🤞🥰...
RICH(UK).🥰🥰🥰.!.!.!
Nice to see you getting more equipment on the farm
Lovely kids! May be future farmers....
Really liking that honey bee header and that beer shirt you rock zach
Now I might only be 12, but when you got that corn reel on that corn header make sure to take the ear stoppers off of the head for the down corn
I love seeing combines in the fields especially with the girls riding in there too. Another great video!
Nailed it buddy I mean you couldn't have got better perfect hey have a fantastic night
Hope yield is better than expected , hang in there.
Zach - looks like you need a little bit of lubrication to get onto the shaft. Its also ribbed for someone's pleasure.
Don't encourage him he's juvenile with the dry MN. 'humor'
@@glennbryant1292 With that dry MN humor, that's why he uses that great WD 40 Dry Lubricant :-)
Thats what she said!
😂
Great Sales rep, don't see that very often where they drive the grain truck and help you move to the next field.
I like the Countryuber food delivery.
I LOVE the dog's voice... That is too funny!
Kids are brutally honest and it's funny !
That Honey Bee flex head looks like it has some great engineering in it. Going to see if I can learn some more about them. Thanks for the great video.
Good video buddy and looks like the 9870 combine still runs smooth.
Good luck on the rest of 2021 harvest season
That header is awesome
It’ll go great with your star spangled short shorts for those summer lake days!
Those are precious little girls! :)
We are praying over land for a good harvest
