I had a macdon header once got rid of it about half way through the season,nothing but troubles, bought a honey bee header now it's 10.5 years old 0 troubles,only gaurds and knife sections, still the same canvass on it has about 30000 acers on it.

Actually one of the smallest field in this operation I believe ...and they usually get their own corner of the field to work on not all behind eachother
Once the header is so wide how do you get the straw back out full width and can you even dump on the go without hitting the header with the tractor or cart?

Btw, one of the guys that runs a combine in this video has a yt channel where he goes quite deep into technical stuff when he explains their gear, Mike Mitchell if you wanna check him out
I think they only ran that program for the video maybe the drone guys artistic idea , because it seemed if he was just going to turn right he should of just turned right when he got to,the end of the field .

Hard to watch at about 1:30 where each machine was running in the other's dust. The sixth combine was eating dirt from the first five. A great video nonetheless.
If the furthest combine went first and down the line, they would have avoided each other's dust. Should be pretty easy to do with guidance. And they wasted a ton of time at the end of the cut waiting for the last combine. Nothing theatrical about this performance.

@@spencergroth5369 Over two 2 sections! 2 square miles in a single day. That just blows my mind that a crew can harvest much in a day. I keep thinking back to the pictures of my day plowing a field walking behind a house with his two row plow or going to the harvest days as a kid and they had a working thresher being run off of a steam engine...
@@nmopzzz We used to have an old grain thresher in our yard that we would play in as kids in the 90's. It's amazing how much has changed in the last 100 years.
cant even imagine that stuff. here in germany bavaria most of the fields are 3 to 7 hectare (8 to 20 acres) and 6 to 8 meters of working width are already mindblowing xD

K R • 6 It DEFINITELY IS NOT OVERKILL as Mike, his two brothers & dad and crew farm approximately 40,000 acres in SW Saskatchewan. I believe Mike indicated they have at least 8 or 9 combines with other units most likely working other fields.

Yeah, if you watch his video's they are normally spread out across a 1-2 mile field. They are likely running together just for the video.
