Rolling Stones Members Get Thrown Out of a Restaurant (Rare SNL Clip that Features The Stones)

- Опубліковано 16 вер 2024
- Rolling Stones Members Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman are featured in a 1978 SNL comedy skit alongside “Not Ready for Prime Time Players” including Dan Ackroyd, John Belushi and Bill Murray. I have intentionally included only scenes in which Rolling Stones members appear.
**Please note that due to UA-cam's Fair Use Policy, this clip could not be shown in it’s entirety. So, if you would like to see this legendary segment unedited, I would recommend that you purchase the DVD of SNL’s Fourth Season, like I did.
Special thanks to The Rolling Stones & SNL.

Like having a stroke watching this
Ronnie knew to order a Pepsi…. No coke….well.. not to drink.
Best days on SNL and seeing Charlie trying not to laugh is precious!
One other thing about the Stones' SNL appearance. This was where Charlie Watts met Steve Jordan. Jordan was the drummer for the Saturday Night Live band. According to Jordan they hung out backstage watching a baseball game and apparently they hit it off. Years later while in Paris Jordan did some percussion work on the Stones Dirty Work album. Although they did not hang out all the time their friendship was genuine and would last until Watts' passing. One other note Jordan co wrote the Stones song Almost Hear You Sigh along with Jagger and Richards.
Charlie also approved Steve for touring the remainder of their last US tour. I'm particularly grateful for that, as I took my 16 year old daughter to see them in Las Vegas.
In that sense Charlie pretty much followed his own advice. He told Keith Richards back in 1986 if he ever needed a drummer for any work outside The Rolling Stones then Steve Jordan was his man. I wonder did Keith ever follow through with that recommendation?
@@bestman2k955 Steve's their man, for the recent album, as well.
I remember Mr. Jordan taking self conscious accolades when introduced as part of the band. He'd stand up, acknowledge the cheers, and practically leap off the drum risers. Keith would be there, waiting, assuring his place in the chair. Touching gesture, every time
Nothing beats the original SNL cast !
Bill Murray is not original cast
Carvey, Farley, etc. for Morris and any number of female cast members, that have played in the years/seasons since, could be swapped in for Jane Curtain.
The late ‘80’s/early 90’s cast was much more talented. For the last 15 years Lorne Michaels has allowed it to go completely off track, with the constant politics and faux breaking character.
There definitely is something special about the original cast. Bill Murray was brilliant too, he started 2nd year for Chevy Chase. I think they were definitely the most charismatic of all and they actually created the show, also.
Charlie trying to stay dead pan face, trying not to laugh. The way he was looking when he was being thrown out.The way he looks at Dan, after eating off his plate.Miss you Charlie.
You picked up the essence of this video!!
That’s because Charlie Watts was Too Cool to laugh on SNL!
@@charlesgreen8703 👍
I’ve been looking for this on You Tube forever major kudos. It’s not even on SNL’s channel.
Thanks it was tough one to get out there. I am glad that you enjoyed it!!
That was awesome, boy does it bring back memories, love SNL, love the Stones, saw them on their 71 tour. Got the T-shirt to prove it…Charlie smirking is golden. RIP Charlie Watts, John Belushi and Gilda Radner, I loved you all so much…read Gilda’s autobiography, released posthumously, in the 80’s…
Ronnie Woods hair was perfect.
rip Charlie...Gilda and John
❤ 🌹 🕯
Along with the creases in his face.
The years when customers could smoke while eating cheeseburgers inside the restaurant.
Nicely adapted!
Poor Charlie couldn't act his way across the street. His range: slightly bemused => bored AF
Does it matter how much pepper was on Ronnie's food? He hasn't eaten since 1969 anyway
Why is the clip interspersed with still shots?
I have never seen Charlie smile this much!!!😂
Nice Thanks For Video DJ Gerry 👍
Hi Evi, I am so glad you liked this rare gem!!🤗👍
Omg...this is SO funny, I'm crying!! I've always LOVED the "cheezburger cheezburger cheezburger" ...LOL. Ronnie's tooo cute, btw
I am so glad that you liked this video. It is great that the Stones were able to do an episode of this hilarious running skit.
Looks like Woody is digging in his nose?
@@andrewsandoz8005 oh hush, Andrew...children should be seen and not heard
I remember watching this on SNL,this was amazing. This really brought back some good times and memories. This is my generation which had spectacular shows and amazing music 🎶 🎵
I've been looking for this !! Thank you
Charlie Watts looks like he holding a small Nokia cellphone up to his left ear. Fairly advanced for 1978.
I remember watching this in a bar with friends when it aired.
Yes!
I stepped out of a family wedding reception to catch this rare Stones appearance.
Grateful to my bartender for changing the tv station in time.
Thanks. What a jewel from the past. 😊
🙋♂️Thanks DJ Gerry 👍 Good Times ‼️
Good times mate!!👍🥳
Nothing beats the original cast.
Lightning rare strikes twice in the same location m!!
Don’t forget about Charlie Watts ?
AHHH the glory days of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.Such great memories.R.I.P to:
JOHN BELUSHI
GILDER RADNER
And CHARLIE WATTS as a guest in the Greek restaurant with his deadpan look as he and RONNIE WOOD are being thrown out for some unexplainable reason.
RIP Charlie Watts legendary rolling Stones
😥
RIP Mr. Charlie Watts ♥️
And Thank You ❤️
Charlie and Ronnie spiked the burger that Bill took a bite out with bourbon. That's why Charlie is laughing.
You posted this while I was at work. Came home. Got baked and watched this. Now I want a cheeseburger! 🍔
how bout a Pepsi? LOL
@@Bluzian74 as in ALL I WANTED was a fkn Pepsi. Oh no you di......int
It seems like you have a bad case of the munchies!! Ah, the power of suggestion!!😅
Thank you. I have never seen this one.
Belushi probably felt it was inappropriate (and not without danger!) to kick someone like Watts out of the pub as hard as Ronnie Wood, who was much more playful and used to such treatment on stage by Mick Jagger.
This is the classic "no coke, Pepsi bit... cheeseburger, cheeseburger."
The freeze frames and wipes are unfortunate.
Without them this video would have remained blocked.
Love Charlie my fav drummer R.I.P
where are all the actual 70s SNL . .Sitting in a vault somewhere ? They should release them FFS
It was released on a DVD of the 1978 season. Unfortunately, UA-cam prohibits people from uploading the clip in its original form.
Among the things found in John Belushi's belongings when he was found dead at the Chateau Marmont was a handwritten note from Ron Wood briefly describing the process of smoking crack. The crack was supplied on the night by Gordon Lightfoot's girlfriend, a woman named Cathy whose last name i've forgotten.
@andrewf2 Cathy Smith. She had dated Gordon Lightfoot in the past but it was a pretty rocky relationship. He wrote "Sundown" about her ~ esp. the line about her "creepin' on my back stair" because she was always going out to bars with her girlfriends and trying to sneak back home to him. Before him she hooked up w several members of The Band (Levon Helm) and at one point got pregnant and didn't know which musician was the father. She died in 2020.
Didn't notice Bill before, Nice 👍
I doubt that's the first place Ronnie Wood's been thrown out of
RIP John bulushi always loved

A Greek restaurant....sheeeet. that's the mutha funking Billy Goats Cafe in Chicago. Fking legends.
Thank God you didn't just let the clip roll & didn't totally butcher it, thanks for posting, I guess you got what you wanted, I even commented on your steaming pile of video, I'd like my 3 minutes back
Looks real when they get kicked out
I'm positive this was a saterday night live skit.bill murey was so young there.funny video from my buddy dj gerry.thanks
THX!
I've read in Bill Wyman's book, and Ronnie's book that they soaked Bill Wyman's hamburger in alchohol prior to filming. However, I don't see Bill Wyman in the sketch.
He walked out of the restaurant wearing a trench towards the beginning of the sketch.
@@DJGerryfromStarlightMusic oh ok. Thanks. I didn't know. Always wondered.
Lol Charlie's face,he's trying so hard to not laugh
Geez those freeze frames were bad. Charlie and Ronnie!

Is that Garrett Morris in drag???? Man, he makes a 'pretty woman'!!!
It doesn’t take much convincing to get Garrett to dress in drag, right?
WTF is up with the pauses and repeats?

😊 I am so glad that you liked it!!✅
Very funny.
Belushi at his best, i miss belushi and his style, as a cast member.
I've seen other skits in this series but not this one. Charlie's trying hard not to laugh. Liked when Ackroyd bit into his sandwich. The pepper grinder with Murrey was funny too,. Do they actually use those in resturants anymore?
Hi Karen, I was at a fancy European restaurant a few months ago when a waiter offered me some ground pepper, but it isn’t very common.
@@DJGerryfromStarlightMusic I didn't think it was. Just kind of surprised me when I saw it. I'll bet Ronnie and Charlie had fun doing the skits though!'😁😆

The over-sized pepper grinder ? Yes, still seen in restaurants sometimes. It"s referred to as a 'Rubirosa' , so named in the memory of a Dominican diplomat / polo player and legendary womaniser called Porfirio Rubirosa. I'll leave it to your imagination as to why he gave his name to an enormous pepper grinder ;-)
@@pauln2760 I can pretty much guess on that one !(ha,ha) Still interesting info you gave here. Thx for that!😉
Getting kicked out of places wasn't new to the Stones . Charlie maybe , but still. ( Pepsi in the restaurant / COKE in the dressing room).
Why are they speaking in Russian accents then?
And Stay Out!! 😉
Wish I could have seen the damn skit
You will need to purchase the DVD to see it. SNL does not allow this to be uploaded in it’s original state.
What friggin' psychopath edited this? Jesus Christ, I just want to watch the skit, no need to repeat every line and/or gesture five times
cool
This once passed for comedy?
Lol
Ok, now get Mick on the show with Dan Ackroyd (Tomorrow show ) wearing a white suit. Same episode ❤️ That's when I fell in deep lust with Mick and have forever remained.

Did Edward Scissorhands edit this? This is awful!
And… what was the point of that? BTW, that was the night in ‘78 of the first time my wife to be went out. 40th anniversary coming up next week.
They did”Far Away Eyes” that night, and I met a guy several years ago who said that because of seeing that performance, he looked for a girl with far away eyes. He was attracted to such a lady, told her that, they got married, and were together for over 30 years at the time of our last conversation. 🕺🏽
Thanks for the memories!!
The editing is unbelievably annoying. Great old footage otherwise.
Blame it all on the copyright police!!👮
Looks like someone got into Keith's heroine, who tried to record this clip....lol

Unfortunately, it was the only way it could be uploaded to UA-cam, otherwise it would be blocked.
