I saw the scenes before this where the Reverend Alden is sick and being tended to by this man, I thought him a good enough actor... but when I heard that voice I realized HOLY SMOKES THAT’S JOHNNY CASH! It wasn’t until years later I found out his wife in the episode is his real wife, June Carter! Whoever thought of this was a genius and whoever made it happen has a place in paradise!
It's a folk song called "Black Jack David/Davy," although it has a number of variations of title, most common "The Raggle Taggle Gypsy," and it can be traced back to Scotland, as early as the 1700s. It's about a young, wealthy wife and mother who happily runs off with a charming Romany lad and refuses to return. The Carter family recorded it back in the day. But most importantly, it's a song that no preacher would be singing. It's a massive hint that Rev. Johnny Cash isn't who he says he is in this episode. :)
black jack davey. this episode is first time in my 49 years of life that i ever recall ever hearing this song and dont know why but i absolutely love it. have found m y male and female artists on youtube singing it but none yet seem to top johnny cash voice to me 😊
Johnny Cash It’s not a movie, it’s a show called “Little House On the Prairie”, it was made in the 70’s. It is in Season 3, Episode 1, titled “The Collection”. It’s a great show btw.
