Keith Earls was one of my favourite players when he was in his prime and it thrills me to see he can still give us some absolute magic from time to time.
As a Kiwi, I was shocked how bad Freddy's defence is. Unacceptable, no matter how good his offence is. I have a similar gripe about Mark Telea from the All Blacks, who I beleive is one of the worst defenders this team has ever seen. Everyone including Ian Foster over looks this because of his good offence. But defence wins world cups. And the thought of potentially having Mark Telea and Caleb Clarke on at the same time in a knock out game at the Rugby World Cup fills me with dread. One of these two is gonna cost the All Blacks big time at this tournament.

Well maybe if northern hemisphere teams were actually match fit going into the World Cup they’d win it more often. They need to align the seasons in both northern hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere because it’s clearly obvious how rusty the northern hemisphere teams are and they’re trying to cram game time into their fringe players and starters in the space of 3 games. Ireland are the only Lion’s region team aiming to score tries. You can’t win games in multiples of 3…. Scotland, Wales, and England do not seem to be able to get away from this drab tactic of playing for penalties to kick all day. Ireland’s effort to mix traditional scrummaging rugby with expansiveness has put them in the RWC drivers seat and they are brilliant to watch. If my All Blacks don’t pull off a miracle to win the cup, I pray Ireland go all the way.

It felt like we didn’t really get out of second gear and there were quite a few missed kicks which massaged the scoreboard a bit for England. England were good in the lineout which was probably their only bright spot but it was in truth a routine win. Great finish by Earls on a landmark occasion for him.
Not a vintage game but Earls' performance and try was worth the price of the ticket alone. Couldn't be any happier for a true Irish rugby legend on his 100th cap.

That's the point , the talent you refer to isn't that talented . The premiership is overrated and too many of your supposedly world class players aren't playing to that level. Smith is a show pony , he made some yards when he came on but the game was already over and there was no link-up play with those around him. Borthwick isn't up to it either.

This must be the worst England side I've ever seen. No game plan, no intensity, can't keep 15 players on the field and the handling errors are mind blowing. I don't mind seeing England loose to a better team but at least make them break a, sweat. Go down slinging the ball around and try to entertain. Good luck to Ireland and Scotland at least they go for it.

Even on a rusty day they can still still take you apart. Ireland played much better in the second half once they got warmed up and started firing on all cylinders.

That's the point , the talent you refer to isn't that talented . The premiership is overrated and too many of your supposedly world class players aren't playing to that level. Itoje has been rank average for the last 2 seasons and your front row is mediocre at best. Ford is your best 10 and at least he won't get carded. Smith is a show pony , he made some yards when he came on but the game was already over and there was no link-up play with those around him. Borthwick isn't up to it either.
