Quite true. The real question is, is the progress we've witnessed thus far worth the trouble?
Progress is always difficult, especially from comfort zone of myths and fairytales, to less stable grounds of modern life dilemmas which permeate this game for last 15 years or so.
Personally, I consider the effort in that direction commendable, but at the end of the day, this is a fantasy game, and this moral greyshading in every possible direction can get so exhausting..

that's the problem with the writing atm, Warchief is not the leader of the horde, he is the military leader, the other leaders can go against him and usurp his/her place by the Mak'gora rite. Which should've been used plenty of times, but writers decided to forget about it and use "we must keep the horde" united card, which is retarded because Doomhammer did exactly that to Blackhand, but hell what do I know

DeeJay Develop, Except thinking like that is the same kind of shortsighted foolishness that didn't serve her well at Teldrassil. It just comes off as more of her spiteful and unstable nature. Moves like that don't boost morale among the Horde, quite the opposite, especially after she so recently blighted her own troops and rasied them as mindless undead. That she was yelling at the PC to just fight the enemy, i.e. let any Horde soldiers just die in the blight doesn't exactly help either. Face it, Sylvanas is heading down a bad path, nothing new there, she's been more or less that lost since Arthas turned her. She's become what she hated. However, since she's warchief it's bad for the Horde, only waifu syndrome or mind numbing levels of faciton pride could make anyone unable to see that.
DeeJay Develop He's spared, at least in part, because Anduin knows that Saurfang represents the best of the Horde, exactly as he says, and part of what he represents is honour. How did you miss that? Or are you just fooling yourself into thinking that Anduin is lying when he says that? 2-0? No, losing Undercity and presumably the region is not a win by any definition, regardless of the repugnant tactics used the Horde lost that day. You're most likely one of the two types of people I mentioned to believe otherwise, so which is it? It's leaning towards waifu syndrome, given how you talk. Regardless, it does seem to make you rather blind.
The Horde is indeed not a democracy, but your memory is poor indeed if you think that means all of them blindly obey any order and will stand silently for any atrocity. The way this is going isn't boding well for the Horde.
DeeJay Develop Also, I'd question the burning of civilians after the battle was won being called a win, considering what it lead to. You're fooling yourself if you think that isn't going to count against Sylvanas if Blizzard does a repeat of the past.

1. She spread blight on Silverpine Forest, Gilneas City, and Arathi Highlands, nearly killing all lives. Those who survives are infected and turned undead.
2. She killed Greymane's son.
3. She nearly forced the Valkyries to serve her.
and finally
4. Sylvanas dragged Koltiras to Undercity and forced him to submit himself as a loyal servant to the Banshee Queen.
She's been like that since Vanilla, if not, Cataclysm. If you didn't had a problem with her doing these shady shits back then, then you have no right to call her Garrosh 2.0.
So she was Garrosh 2.0 before Garrosh was a thing, shes Garrosh 0.5

I wish that they introduce Azshara in-game by making her kill Sylvanas.
I doubt this will happen, many people hate Sylvanas but that's what makes her so iconic. She never fucks around and acts at all costs, even if her decisions and methods are dirty and immoral most of the time.
Sylvanas was always know for reaching her goals regardless of method and that's the genius of her character. They wont get rid of her that easily
For all of you saying she is garrosh 2.0, no she isnt. Her actions are fueled by the fact that the Horde is indeed gonna die out if she just sits there, looking good. Garrosh did way worse things. He stole the Focusing Iris from the Dragonflight and mana bombed the entire city of theramore, killing so many alliance soldiers in it (I'm not sure how painful a mana bomb can be but I think it is surely worse than burning a simple tree), he released the evil creatures in MoP, and altered timelines too. Garrosh did everything for his own good not for the horde. Yes, Sylvanas is in a very questionable spot right now but she does what she deems best for the Horde. I mean, she has been evil but she retains some of her goodness in her. How do you expect an ex-Ranger-General turned banshee then turned into a warchief of the Horde to react in a War torn world. She has always used her brains quite exceptionally and almost no one rivals her in that category. So, maybe you just don't understand right now but who cares because she didnt ask for your opinion or for your understanding. And no, I don't think a character progression storyline is what Sylvanas needs right now, I like this side of her tbh. Being the bad guy is always the place I have seen Sylvanas in and I like it. I honestly thought Maiev's story just abruptly ended in Legion and that really bummed me out.

Ideally, the Forsaken would be a third faction, so that there can be two neutral-goodish factions and one evil faction. I think it's too late for a third faction now though, and who knows how much that would screw up population numbers for each faction.

People seem to forget that this is 100% true to Sylvanas's character. She was a no-nonsense badass during Warcraft 3. Alliances served to better her interests, nothing more - the moment they are inconvenient she removes them from play. Even her position as part of the Horde was an alliance of convenience, and now she's been put in charge. So, naturally, the Horde's tactics are going to revolve around her point of view. It's her way or the highway.

This definitely fits her character. I just think it's stupid that she was made Warchief. People in the Horde already knew she was dishonorable and cruel because of things she did in Cataclysm.
Oh definitely, she's a horrible choice for a Warchief. I'm going to bet that the only reason she got picked was because some Old Gods were messing with the Loa while Voljin was on his deathbed. There's no other explanation.
Of course, I also don't want her character gibbed like Garrosh, would much rather see her redeem herself, or perhaps become a greater threat in the long run - perhaps even a usurper of the Frozen Throne, considering her attitude towards necromancy.
I think her saying that was more of a threat, but she knew she wasn't gonna come back to raise him up, not enough time.
But Baine disapproved, but what exactly would he have wanted her to do? Stay there and fight to the last man? Like people wanted the Horde to do on the Broken Shore? Yeah that would have turned out sooo well. -_-

Even if they didn't kill the other Horde leaders, you think other races would sit by and allow the Alliance to attack their leader, when most of the stuff she's done is for them? But yes she did start the war, there's no way around that. However, it was gonna happen again, sooner or later, like always.

This Warchief cares for the Horde equally across the board. She is the only thing keeping the Forsaken from being turned on by Horde and Alliance alike. She is drawing the line. Those who cross it arn't engaging in a fight they are walking into a trap.

It's was fucked up in what she said but she was right I mean hell she almost won the battle if wasn't for Jaina by doing it her way. What's more important right now the Horde's honor or it's survival in this war. If it's survival then we follow Sylvanas' lead or if it's honor then we will follow Saurfang's lead. As for Baine he just have to grow up like Saurfang and understand that sometimes in order to achieve victory you have to do the ugly and dishonorable action to get it.

Personally, I like Sylvannas, but she's not warchief material. You see, she was always this bitchy leader that would stay away from the group scheming her own agenda, and that mysterious aspect of her was her charm: being the outcast willing to do what the others wouldn't. Now, as warchief, she's the face of the Horde, sure she can still do secret plans here and there but she no longer needs to hide or be afraid of anyone challenging her orders; The other races are in a position of staying with the group or stand by themselves, that's why it's not as easy as saying 'I'm out bish'.
That being said, Blizz has cornered themselves. At this point A- we kill Sylvannas in a SoO 2.0. (And let the 'who will be warchief now' meme continue) B- she turns out to be an Old God puppet, or C- does an Illidan/Grommash twist for self proclaimed redemption and is somehow forgiven. Unless there's some big plot twist around the corner, either of the 3 mentioned outcomes is predictable, lame, and has been done before.

Saurfang sacrificed his honor to save her from Malfurion and then she burned Teldrassil. Saurfang feels responsible for it as we have seen in the Old Soldier cinematic. She did not kill hope in the Night elves or Alliance. She united them. And, well, pissed Night elves as hell. She killed hope in her High Overlord. Then he is convinced by Zappyboi that the Horde is worth fighting for. Only to see how Sylvanas plauge soldiers like Zappyboi during the siege... You know that Suarfang is a racial orcish leader, yes? And she left him. What is more, she is more then eager to left Baine as well. I understand that she is in such a good position to throw away her closest allies and founding nations of the Horde? From her lore after the Wotlk I understand that she is afraid of death, because she saw what is waiting for her. She is considering everything and everyone as expendable "tools", unless the tool is vital for her survival.

He challenged the ally armies. He got to about 15%. Anduin called for his forces to stop. He begged for a warriors death. Anduin sent him to the stockades instead so he could talk to him later.

Guys, you should really read the novel who was in the collector's edition of BFA, it's called "an honorable war" in french but don't know the title in english... It's explain WHY Sylvanas wants attack Teldrassil, and i'm sorry to say it, but when i read it i was agree with her... She has a more largest vision of the futur than others leaders and she knows that peace is ephemeral... Anyway, really guys, go read the Lore before say that she's a monster, or mad, or a villain... She's not...

Bill CIA Wilson man what are you talking about? Real war was the battles against Arthas undead army, real war was the battles fought against the iron horde, and the battles against the Legion. In the Lore both factions did experience war in full scale, and lost a lot. But Sylvanas fucked off a peace and understanding between both factions

Read about First and Second war, when the Horde burned down Stormwind, enslaved Alexstrasza and her children to use them as a weapon, created the first Death Knights and slaughtered half of Azeroth, and then come to argue with me. If your knowledge of the Horde is limited to the WoW and Thrall's Hippy Horde, then I have nothing to talk with you about.
And there was never peace and understanding between the Horde and the Alliance, you dumb kid. They are too different for that. There will always be conflicts, there will always be war, and there will always be A Big Evil Evil to keep them from drowning each other in blood. That's the whole point of Warcraft. Just stick with your Alliance goodie good goodies, and don't start and argument about something you don't know a thing about.
