Very interesting information . I had a very positive experience with cataract & glaucoma . I had the claucoma treatment with laser procedure first . Talking down the pressure in the eyes . Then had the cataracts removed. The laser treatments about 20 minutes . Got one cataract removed in about 15 to 20 minutes replaced with blue tint lens . And 7 days later the other one . And what a pleasure to look out in the parking lot and see the metallic blue cars . Then my wife informed me they silver . But I have to take Travatan eye drops ☔️ for the glaucoma . Don’t be intimidated it’s a fantastic surgery. Go for it 🇨🇦 Greetings from Canada 👍

I have dry AMD. I had cat surgery in April, and it improved my vision dramatically. I have been put on a list to receive Syfovre for the dry AMD.
Obviously, cat surgery has no effect on AMD, But the cloudiness and discolorization present with cataracts makes things even worse.

I have recently had a cataract removed and at my outpatient appointment it was discovered that I now have AMD. I am being treated with two types of eye drops, very painful. How do these drops get to the Macula?

What is AREDS2 ? In what way does it help?

It is an eye vitamin tablet.

Look up Michael Chua, ophthalmologist, on UA-cam. He gives all the statistics for the nutrition you can take that will give you all the vitamins and nutrients that the AREDS-2 tablets give you and the percentage of prevention the nutrition will give you. (still take those vitamins).
The most important are green leafy and colored veggies, esp kale, spinach, and then fish several times a week.
Overweight contributes to your chances of acquiring AMD as well.
Exercise and good sleep also contribute to prevention of AMD.
