- I never thought I'd be looking to buy a house on an island so far from the city but the more I keep looking at houses and the more i'm realizing that I am not a city girl and just want a small town beach life 🥹 I don't know where life is taking me but I'm so excited lol 🤭

Honestly, searching for a house myself I find that the most important thing to consider is the location, because this is somenthing you cannot change. You will be stuck with it. Everything else is changeable, even if it is a lot of work. And hearing all the plans you listed, there are a lot of stuff to do.
The first house OMG. The arches and built-ins!!! Bathrooms look like re hauls but totally functional and perfect for a rehab project ❤ “I can see myself” is your sign. New subscriber. Best of luck and look forward to following your journey.

@@dapookiezz flooding gets bad often with rising sea levels. And a lot of insurance companies are refusing to insure homes now especially in coastal/low lying areas. Not sounding great for a long term investment.

Find out about insurance first. It’s got really hard to get house insured in coastal Florida, and your mortgage company will demand you have insurance. If you don’t get your own, they’ll impose their insurance on your house, which is expensive and insure the building in case of loss, but not your renovations or personal property. Choose wisely.
The Keys are beautiful but 3 hours is a long way just to move to the middle of nowhere for funsies. Enjoy the evacuation traffic during hurricane season. Lol
The first house has so much potential. Even if you decided to make it a vacation home or short term rental. I know you mentioned the location not the best so something to consider. The second home location seemed better. The first home so many ways you can utilize the space.
I was selfishly happy you didn’t choose it cus I loved your old house so much 😂 would love to see you decorate something like that again… but I’ll have to wait and see what you end up with. Good luck ❤

As someone that has their laundry room on the second floor make sure you get a really good oversized pan to go under the washer. We have had a brand new washer go bad on us and flood the ceiling of our garage.( TWICE!)
