Great "do it yourself video".....good video taping.....commentaries and instructions excellent.....good editorial on the vendor/parts supplier. Al . MD
Thanks. I'm glad I could help. The process was easier than I thought it would be. I watched another video several times to feel comfortable with the process. Then did my own. From start to final cleanup it was probably about 4-5 hours, but I was filming as well. Good Luck... If you would, reply back and let me know how it went for you.
I just done a passenger side axle on one of these today at the shop. Good thing you could get the upper control arms bolt out, the one I had was seized due to electrolysis corrosion. Had to pull the bolt out of the rear control arm to the subframe so there was enough wiggle room to get it out. I sure as hell wasn't gonna break that upper control arms bolt, that would have been a real big headache.
So far they have been awesome. The company had great communication and excellent customer service. Returning the cores was a piece of cake. Looking back i felt I made the best decision purchasing the refurbished axles. I still get OEM parts with upgraded bearings. Pull the trigger- you won't be disappointed - Thanks for watching by the way- I know I sound like a commercial for them but I did a lot of research and I was really happy with my choice and their product.
@@sunshinetv2419 Well seeing as I bought the car for $400 bucks I knew that i would be going down the rabbit hole with it. It is coming along nicely. It is an 03 and was never maintained .. no rust but neglected in maintenance. Getting the almost 20 year old ball joints and tie rods off has been a slow and painful process, a broken top control arm squeeze bolt and a stubborn tie rod are on the menu for tomorrow .. I hope the rear suspension doesn't throw me any curve balls. Timing belt, water pump, thermostat, PS pump, alternator, window actuators, battery, wheel bearings and brakes have been done Along with new 18 inch wheels and tires.
Glad you liked the video. - I have not had to replace the oxygen sensor, so I can't help you with that... perhaps another viewer can be of some assistance.
I'm not a certified mechanic, and this is the first time I have replaced front axles. The Raxles rep let me know that on my particular model and year the axles were the same for each side. If you have a different year and model that may be different for your vehicle. Check with the guys at Raxles, they are quite knowledgable on their products and their install.
Confirmed my suspicions about my daughters A4. Noise and shudder under acceleration, thanks for posting!
I love German engineering and styling... just wish it held up like Japanese products

I Have the exact same car same colour , Dolphin Gray and am redoing the entire front end suspension. Mine is a V6
Notorious for having to have their front suspension redone... The Cabriolet A4 is one of the most costly to maintain... so fun to drive though...

Great Vid thanks! Question: Have you ever had to replace your B1 S1 Oxygen sensor? If so how the heck did you get to it?

So it doesnt matter which side goes to which
