Been playing 20 years but i in fact still need beginner shredder tricks. Bring it on!
Me too. One of these days I’ll learn Wonderwall
☯️
lol same here
Always!
@@andylyon3859 please....Noooo
I think you probably have the best, most pleasant presentation of any guitar person on UA-cam.
Thank you Steven.
Here, here! (+1)
@@RobertBakerGuitar I just used a variation of one of your Zakk pentatonic favorites on a new song.
Hey Robert, it was a real pleasure to meet you in the UA-camr area backstage at Gear Fest. I got word that you had to leave early to go home for some issue, and thus didn’t partake in Cookie Fest. While that sucks, I’m sure you would have dug it, I hope everything is OK with the family.
For what it’s worth, when I mentioned that you got your haircut, and your reply of, “It was an accident” was easily the funniest thing I heard that day, or a close 2nd to when you asked about the cookies “Cookies or like coooookies?”. It’s good to see that you are a really down to earth dude with a tremendous amount of talent, no doubt brought about through some very hard work over the years perfecting your craft.
It is my sincere hope that one day in the future we cross paths again. Once again it was a real pleasure to meet you. Rock on my dude!
Have been playing for 38 years and still found value in your lesson and subscribed. Well done!
Love this lesson. It’s simple and easy to throw into my practice routine.
Great lesson. Sounds great. Love the addition of open strings Thx 🎸👍🎸
Mega lesson!! even for the experienced because it's always good to get that reminder about those cool tricks like this that are so valuable to incorporate into your playing. Thanks for the lesson
cool, thanks man! I've been playing for years but have never really tried to "shred". So your recent lessons (like the Yngwie ones) are helping me to get out of my comfort zone and learn some new stuff :)
Nice lesson Robert. I’ve been on the journey of learning how to play guitar for decades and this is super cool. I love shreddy riffs that are melodic and this one has it all.
Nuno uses this kind of lick on Decadence Dance - in one of the verses, but uses hand tapping, just using a basic Em pentatonic shapes. Simple to pull off, and the chicks dig it!
Love it! 57 and still learning. I’ve got to get myself a delay pedal.
That's what I love about guitar, there's always room for improvement :) also, I recently learned about a new pedal called "Space Delay" that sounds awesome to me (and it's not too pricey), if ur still in the market, u might wanna check it out
Space Delay demo at 29:16 ua-cam.com/video/OGYgolfPpV0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AndertonsMusicCo
I'm 55 and I am my own built in delay 😉
@@mikeg6666 😆
Delay adds that "produced ambience".
I'm 60 and bought a used Echoplex $400 when I was 16. My new Les Paul at the time was $675, so that Plex was a pretty penny, but I knew that i needed it.
Instantly I sounded "pro", bands all wanted me. All my Rush sounded great, Ain't Talkin' Bout Love sounded great. I just sounded like the records...
Folks on the internet bag on delay...do yourself the ultimate favor and get a nice delay. Something where you can roll the high end off the delays, even with a tape mode on it. Strymon Timeline is awesome, there are probably cheaper options out there now.
Sounds like Robert could have delay and reverb, or more likely just reverb here.
The modern reverbs are incredible too.
@@jfo3000 I have an old-school DE7 that does the job pretty nicely....
I'm going to give this a try!!! Thanks for the lesson my dude!!
Love these little licks. It doesn't always have to be super shreddy. Thanks Robert.
love the short lessons rob! thanks
This is awesome!!! Love this video! Thanks!
EXCELLENT lesson!! Thank you.
Thanks for the lessons
I love this lick . it's added a new tool in the tool box
Fantastic Tone today, Brother Rob 🤟🏻
Thanks, I'm going to try it!
Excellent short lesson .
Thanks for the easy shred hack for beginners. Appreciated!!
What a cool dude. Great delivery and easy to understand. Learned soooo much from this one vid!! Keep awesome lessons coming.
I hear an Eric Johnson vibe in this lick.
Awesome lesson/idea.
God bless you and your family.
Great lick. Shred hack lessons = YES !
Great, easy lesson Robert!!!
I have over 10 years under my belt. I have never been a fast player. Not a ton of songs that I love use "shredding". Been tough for me to get into, but an opportunity has come up and I need to try to learn a shreddy solo.
I like this concept, you just opened up my world. Many times I am focused on the act of picking each note, but this works so much better. I like to play fast, but accuracy usually suffers. This enables the speed and doesn’t sacrifice the accuracy. Awesome 🤘🏻
SAME!!!
Ziggy played guitar 👨🎤
@@stanphillips7277 still does😁🎸
@@stanphillips7277 I got the reference. The guitar pictured is a 1987 Fender American Standard Stratocaster. I don’t remember the color name. It reminded my of the guitar that Eric Clapton was playing in the video for “Pretending”, minus the Lace Sensor pickups.
Love this! Sounds great! It would be awesome if you could do a lesson on doing the same type of lick with open strings in the E mixolydian
Cool stuff Baker 🤘
Thank You Robert !!
Enjoying these tip videos
You're creeping up on that 500k, you deserve it man.
Thanks homie
As usual, you continue to knock it out of the park eith such ease and finesse...
As more of a dedicated singer/rhythm guitarist, this has always been one of my go to techniques whenever called upon to solo. 😉
I’m not a beginner but I like that and will try it out. Thanks Rob
Subscribed man. I've only been playing four months but it's annoying me that I can't shred yet. Great video!! I'll comment my progress when I'm home from work and in front of my guitar. You're doing the lords work my friend.
Thanks Rob B! MVP
I just wanna shred. Thank you for this stellar practice routine.( New guitarist).
Just started on Paisley’s ‘Time Warp’ and that main riff destroyed any anchoring issues I had and my left hand has taken on a life of its own now. So freeing.
And…learn some of this by ear to really feel the accents and picking/legato patterns.
Nice Baker! Thank you!
Thanks for this, great video, this is helping me a lot.
This PRS CE is a hell of a guitar !
Thank you 🙏❤
Awesome video
Good stuff Robert. I hit the subscription.💪🎸
Thank you!
Just subscribed to your community and I gotta say: you are an amazing teacher! Very cool and thanks!
Welcome Matthew!
@@RobertBakerGuitar 🤘
Awesome i dig it
Nice shredder
your tone is so good!, lick is cool too, I'm off to get some practice in.
Keep 'em comin Robert #enditbluesy
Has the guitar giveaway been already? Great videos as always!
The bit about not grabbing the neck like a baseball bat but easing up was very eye-opening for me. Should have been totally obvious long ago but I’d missed it. This one thing will really help me out. Thank you.
Rocking tutorial, Robert 🎶💖🎤🔥🎶Cheers! \|/
Freak'n awesome, thank you...!
I noticed you used the bat grip for the pull offs !
Great lesson & love that name dropping.
(Brad Paisley) - how many of y'all had to go look him up...LOL
🤣🤘🎸🎶
Muscle memory Robert, that’s why you use that finger descending, me too!
Awsome lesson. And Brad Paisley is a freakin guitar God.
I don't have fast fingers, but this open string, hammer on pull off lick works 👍
I'm a simple man, I see 0-3-5, I hit the like button. 😅
Them wide intervals! Next thing they’ll be using string skipping riffs with the open string pull offs and go full on prog metal!!!!
Muito bom.
Man your CE looks so much better than the one I recently got, I'm so jelly.
W the CE it helps to have it sideways when viewing the top (like it is when you're playing)
I have 1 as well, in black and gold.
Hair is dialed in today.
Life lesson. Always dial your hair then your tone.
I wanna use this to close “Child of love” by we the kingdom but my speed is the problem!!! Any tips robert?
Who also knows the first album of Todd Duane? He is not very famous but dude he could shred like Shredder from the Turtles! 😊
When descending, how do you prevent the other strings to ring out?
So is the hammer on where you basically bend the strings
So glad I clicked on this though
How do you enquire about the fretboard decoder program.
Genial
Hi, all of this small lessons, go to my guitar practice playlist, thank you and take care Robert, cheers.
What model PRS is that? It’s beautiful!!
The trustrod cover sais CE :3 (at the headstock)
Very good sir except for the "yo" hahaha
🤘
What about a key like Eb..
I am guessing it is hammer-ons ascending and pull-offs descending… looks like it anyway (he wasn’t too clear on the descending!)
👍
Sounds Eric Johnsonísh
I’m still a beginner even after all these years 😂
Nuno lick
Beginner my butt! This is way past that! Thanks for added frustration about learning guitar!
Are you in a band ?
Like deployed 👍
2:00 Tab
Sorry but the link for the tabs is broken 😢

You wouldn't happen to know a Paleontologist with the same name, would you? Or is this a David Schwimmer kind of deal.😆
idk what to learn everything is too hard its all like 3 cords and moving up and down
Am I the only one who thought that sounds a little Eric Johnson-esque?
(P) ickin' (R) ock (S) hred tips for beginners? How cool is that? 🤣🎸🎶✌️
You ok Robert? You look a little down.
beginner be like:
...
Tell me why guitarists never change there guitar strings
Untill they rust and break. Then get mad abt it. I'll tell u. Idk why I do it
Um, beginners won’t understand modes. I don’t know them after 2 1/2 years. Goodbye
