But who's going to stop us importing two thirds of our cheese?
Looking at this in January 2022 and Liz Truss Brexit Minister and all the footage of her gaffs is a very sad reflection on the the current state of ` UK` politics and society in a very predictable post Brexit Brittan.
Brexit was the best thing to happen, to everyone outside the UK of course
There is something so very very odd about all this
Bless her, still as gormless as ever

If I swore on a book, but didn't believe in the book or the words it contains would that be a worthless oath?
Yes, and possibly perjury
Well spoken, intention noted...
the Queens arm
lord of the wigs
Insane bollocks for this impudent cheese merchant 🧀 🙄
Now about the chronic underfunding and inefficiency of the Justice System that Lizzy swore to ensure would not happen- - - -
And the attempts by the government in which she served to reduce the power and independence of the Judiciary to oversee ministerial powers?
This could have be a scene from Game of Thrones if somebody's throat had been slit.
Yep Her Predecessors Throat Gove was Slit.
+Internally Flawless We No longer have to put up with this Constant Oppression!
Not really, Game of thrones has less political correctness than British politics.
Is this the British version of the Supreme Court?
That's what I was wondering.
Honestly, as a Brit, I have no idea what they do either. *runs to google for answers to sounds smart*
Ok, so basically the main parliament (like Theresa May and the rest of the MPs) debate laws & topics and whatnot, then if a decision is made in the parliament, it then goes to the House of Lords (what this video is of) to re-debate it (I think) and challenge the decisions that the main parliament make. So basically if a Bill is proposed, it has to go through the House of Commons, then House of Lords, and then it's implemented.
Hamish That is extremely complicated?
theylied1776 Yes it is, however I think Lords are appointed by the monarch/HoL Appointment Commission rather than elected so i'm guessing they are more trustworthy (don't quote me on that). I also think it's because the UK used to be much more Christian and the House of Lords were introduced by a very religious Britain, and it just has kind of just managed to stick. (that's just me presuming with my knowledge of history :P)
Embarrassing. Who are these clowns
THE NEW LORD CHANCELLOR...........swearing in........uphold with DEDICTION.............LIBERTY.........SPIRIT OF THE LAW.......economic wellbeing.............
Is she trying to do a Putin by keeping everyone waiting, loony!
Who are all after Liz truss became president?
I'm here after her resignation
Nane Mozart from Kensington
Look like a row of transvestites
Magi
I am the Heritable Usher of the white rod of Scotland and Keeper of the Great Seal.

Bravo...🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🎩
Says a man who obviously knows nothing about nothing ...
they all lie
A new strong will lioness is just emerged. She is just 40 and has a lot of time to go before she will rule over Britain.
Она этого заслужила!!! И не только Британией!!!
this didn't age well.
@@miahlee211 Well but she did, didn't she?
@@Singular121 she did but of what positive significance was that?
Anyone notice how womanized Britain has become lately?
It's political correctness gone mad.
+Umar Outstanding not really, all of our ladies are conservatives. Theresa May is quite a hard conservative at that.
It's political conservativeness gone mad.
Jose Mourinhos Blue Bus a "Jose" being allowed to speak English = political correctness gone mad
Yes! Soon there will be more female judges, law-makers, clergy than male, but I doubt that people would require equal representation for men then.
what a load of pompous faffing about and she is serving the queen when she should be a servant of the people
Yep she should serve the people the law protects not a monarch and her heirs in a palace.
No she swears allegiance to the queen as do all MPs, Ministers and Judges. Parliament asks the queen to swear allegiance to God (and the Christian gospel). That way the people of this nation are under God and the government is the servant of the people.
here here. god shave the queen
merahboy69 lol 😂😂😂😂
lol, I never understood the UK anthem, I mean why does the head of a Church need to be saved? Does every England football match almost give her a heart attack so we have to encourage her. Okay mini-random-rant over.
LIZ IS SHORT FOR LIZARD
would now be a good time ditch the wigs and fancy dress? - true authority does not need dressing up.
Probably not, it’s tradition and hardly prevents them from doing their jobs, without tradition, we become America...
Not really. It seems to me to add a level of dignity and respect to an ancient office. Nothing wrong with tradition.
How could she become a lord if she is woman? When I checked last time women are ladies not lords.
Filip Mirić A simple example is her majesty Queen Elizabeth the second, she is Duke of Lancaster and not Duchess.
Because *aristocratic* titles can’t be given to female then they got males aristocratic titles.
Woman (in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) only gets their female *aristocratic* titles by marriage contract. Princess Margaret was know as Lady Snowdon after her marriage. before she was know as Princess Margaret of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
( a gift from her sister, her majesty the Queen. )
Maria Theresa was king of Hungary and not Queen because queen could not be rulers so she got the male title.
Everybody knows that they are women but to hold their positions the only way is to get the male title.
She is personally not a lord. Her office holds the title of Lord Chancellor, not her personally. Illogical? Perhaps, especially since Black Rod is now a Lady Usher, but it’s all arbitrary anyway.
Jolly well said old boy. The world has gone blasted mad.
Why do they wear wigs
I find it a little odd
They wear wigs, because they are so lukewarm they need additional insulation to maintain a normal body temperature. Or because of the traditional dress of the 1600s and they haven't changed with the times.
+BNNTV they are from the 1700s they need to wake up😅
Symbol of respect and to separate them from the public.
still run around like clowns of the victorian area...
gOtze1337 the victorians had a global empire. Clowns dont make empires
Don’t those robes and wigs look silly in 2022?
Why the hair pieces?
Irwin Vasquez Traditions. They are the very best, top judges in the UK and are meant to be separate from everyone else, to preserve their independence.
Because it's a pantomime
Why do American judges wear black robes? Why do policemen wear badges? Why do doctors who never step inside a lab wear lab coats?
wtf is this
