- The new Justice Secretary, David Gauke MP, is sworn in as Lord Chancellor at the Royal Courts of Justice. Followed by speeches from Mr Gauke, the Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett, the Attorney General Jeremy Wright QC MP, Chairman of the Bar Andrew Walker QC and President of the Law Society Christina Blacklaws.

Actually i rather like this ceremony as it is historical in its nature and serves to remind everyone exactly what his job means and should consist of. It's in everyone's interest that they can access the law when they need to without having to bankrupt themselves in the process. It also reminds us that the law evolves all the time and as life progresses quicker than legislation can keep up, it is based on sound principles
