Half Moon Cay Tender and Return on Holland America Cruise (4K)

See what it is like taking the tender from a cruise ship to Half Moon Cay, a private island for Holland America & Carnival Cruises. We were on the ms Veendam and visited Halfmoon Cay in July 2018. The cruise tender was not a lifeboat, but was smooth and scenic.
It was great times on the island- be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water! The food there this time was not as good as the last time we were there via the Eurodam (see our Half Moon Cay video from that cruise: • Half Moon Cay Bahamas ... ). There was no island BBQ- the crew stated that it was because the Veendam was a smaller ship and didn't offer it.
Still- it was very enjoyable. If you are on a Caribbean cruise (we were on a Cuba one) and Halfmoon Cay is on the itinerary, consider it a big plus.

Yeah good question- I think it's because this island is owned by Holland America and they already have tenders boats there just for the purpose of transporting passengers from the cruise ship to shore. It is probably faster than having to deploy the lifeboats, which also don't hold as many people. Thanks for watching & commenting!
