This video proves why this channel isn't viral.
Other youtubers: Do DSA. You are now a programmer. Now you can by a house , buy a car , drink on weekends. Become ultra rich after investment in stock market.
Harkirat : Explains a complex computer science problem.
No emotional appealing . No bullshit.
It would be really nice harkirat if you could make a video explaining the roadmap on how to REALLY learn backend.

    • @asutoshpanda1508
      @asutoshpanda1508 Рік тому +46

I would like to create an argument here, would be happy if people give comments also
      - when they say do DSA, they are actually providing a full proof plan that has worked for thousands..not 100s, literally 1000s. the investment of time is also less, maybe 8 months to 12 moths
      - the one harkirat is saying is really passionate engineering, that takes years to compound and the skills also takes time to stack upon, it's mostly about how to be a pragmatic engineer
      now the question is
      - if you come from a family where meeting the month end expenses are difficult, then will you spend 2-3 years to build pragmatic engineer level skills or will you do just DSA, just crack an interview and provide to your family with 20LPA
where I am coming from with this point? I have been working in a service based company for last 3 years, I couldn't learn DSA in 6 months, I am not a pragmatic engineer too. But I am good at what I do, I am in DevOps
but slowly I am entering into pragmatic engineering cuz now I am not running after money, I am actually curious about engineering.
I belong to a poor family, but as I am in wfh , I am able to meet the monthly expenses and able to provide time to DSA, systems design, open source... Donno when I will click a good company
But out of 3yrs of ex, I can definitely say I will take a huge amount of time-the passionate way
      DSA is the shortcut
My opinion - folks who sell DSA are also correct, but passionate engineers are also correct... Apart from Harkirat I would suggest to see the content of theprimegen, theprimetime, teejaydev....these folks discuss serious engineering while live streaming..they don't sell shit, they are doing it for fun

@asutosh panda That's not my point bro. Everyone needs to pay the bills man but if students don't know the truth about software industry they end up being worse. They have to do something they don't understand and get stuck as they don't know where they went wrong. What's the point of a 20la package if the job makes you miserable.

    Keys points:
The fastest way to become a software developer or coder is to be extremely curious about the field and step out of your comfort zone.
The motivation to get into coding shouldn't be just money, as that may lead to losing motivation and being stuck doing one thing for the rest of your career.
Technology changes very quickly, and to keep upscaling yourself and staying relevant, you need to be curious about technology.
Find problems around you that can be solved with technology, and work on solving them.
Use the right tools and technologies in the industry, such as React for front-end development and Kubernetes for deployment.
Learn how to monitor your code and system performance.
Continuous learning and curiosity are key to becoming a successful and efficient developer.

Really Nice video, I've faced similar problems, and you can get more in depth on how to dissect more. Here's few things Which I've done in my projects, might help out the readers.
    1. implement proper graceful shutdowns for your consumer applications,
    2. I Use KEDA for my k8s containers to autoscale /downscale pods based on queue lengths.
    3. Node provisioning/deprovioning is critical, personally I'll find some autoscaling patterns based on business needs, for eg. provision extra instances before peak hours, deprovision/ hibernate during low hours. you can also utilise warm instances now with AWS which lowers your node-up time significantly. I'll use Karpenter or some sort of Time based scaler here
    4. setup alerts on Queue length, consumer lag (most important) ( if consumption is slower for some reason (might be a new commit causing throttling on queues) you never know.
    5. this specific video transcoding can be put better into step-functions or lambda's which can be triggered by sqs/kafka directly. have seen this usecase to be fit amazingly with step-functions.

Nice video. I think you can save some more money using the AWS EKS service, encoder goes into a pod as microservice and then have the replicaset defined. And scale using the Horizontal Pod Autoscaler. So your kubernetes will call new instances (Nodes) based on certain metric which you can deicide.
