I have the Mate 10 alp29 at the moment. I love the rear cameras but the screen sucks... I cant find a screen protector. As somone that does a lot of studying and a lot of media transfer the storage speeds are a plus along with the camera. As somone that is used to custom roms and being G00gle free I don't like my phone..
so i get better battery screen and speaker at the expense of camera [ i do not take any photos at all] is that correct ? because thats what im looking for mate
Had the mi max 1. Currently using the 2. Awaiting excuse to get the 3. Worth every penny. My switch from Samsung etc to Xiaomi has been a great experience and I'll be hard pushed to get another brand.
I also had the max 1 and upgraded to the 2. I didn't feel many advantages in upgrading once I got the 2, even though it felt slightly better. But the max 3 is a whole different story. After using it for a few hours, I looked back to the max 2 and knew I could never use it again. The max 3 is an extreme improvement, it looks and feels better in every aspect. I encourage you to upgrade it, you won't regret it. I'm already expecting to see how xiaomi will improve the mi max in the fourth series.
@@LEO-xo9cz amoled displays on xiaomi devices are present only in their top phones. Keep in mind all the Max series, though pretty good, are just mid range phones. The great benefits are the huge screen and the massive battery. As for the bootloader, I know it is frustating to wait 72h, but it's a pretty simple thing to do in all xiaomi devices. Just a little more about the display in the Max 3: it is way better than the Max 2, not that it was bad. I still like it very much, feels like a good premium phone.
I'm watching this on my Mi Max 3 😃 With Open Camera app you can record 4K videos with EIS. My MM3 is rooted and GCam with Night Vision works really well. Especially front facing camera level of details is much improved. To me the fingerprint scanner placement is spot on but I've got a rather big hands. Face Unlock also works well, I couldn't fool it with a printed or displayed photo and you have to have at least one eye open but it works also when you're not looking exactly at the camera. I wish Xiaomi should bring back a colorful notification LED though. I switched from a Lenovo P2 and battery life results with my usage are exactly the same despite a much bigger screen.
What about the fact that the front camera makes your face blurred no matter what the beautify level is. Or the fact that it literally takes the worst pictures in low light, for exemple when you're in a club. Overall the phone is amazing.
Watching with my 3 year old mi pad! Lol. Never gets old. The screen is always sharper! The battery life last a a day or two. A week if its on standy. And i bought note 6 pro yesterday. And im loving it! I cant explain!
I have the Mi Max 2 for over a year and I can safely say its the best phone I've had so far.. The battery life is not great when gaming as I can only get about 3 to 4 hrs out of it before I have to recharge.. Charging is fast though but I wasn't expecting the battery to drain so fast whilst playing games.. I think the battery can handle UA-cam fairly well.. I think I could watch about 5 to 6 hrs of UA-cam before I'd need to charge the phone again.. I think I'll keep my Mi Max 2 as Max 3 doesn't really have that much to offer that would make me want to part with my Mi Max 2..
Used to own the Nexus 6... It was hard to replace it but 3 phones later I now have the Max 3 and loving the screen size. Seems just as wide as the Nexus 6 although much taller!
When I went to the store, this was the Xiaomi phone that I liked the most in my hand. Yes, it's hard to use it with one hand but the bezels are quite small, the screen is huge and beautiful although it's not AMOLED. The only thing I wish this phone had is a QHD resolution because for a 6.9'' inch screen, it could be more enjoyable but I know the price would have increased. Tbh I never saw a Xiaomi phone with a QHD resolution.

For the money it's incredible what you get right out the box. This phone is a no brainer for anyone who loves big screens and big batteries.....go buy.

I got mine on eBay for $199.00. Took nine days to get it but it was shipped from China, so that's reasonable. Great phone for the price. Super fast and the screen is very good. The speakers are ok. Long battery life. I wish it had the 16:9 aspect ratio instead of the 18:9 tho.The finger scanner works great.

@Techline - Linus, just FYI in English we refer to the thing we're photographing (or painting) as the *subject*, not the object. Whether it a living thing or inanimate, it is always the subject. Anyway, thanks for the video. I'm just learning about this phone now and did not realize it had been around since mid-2018 already. Xiaomi is shipping it with Android 9 now. Prices have dropped quite a bit by this point. I was thinking of springing for the 6GB Ram version, but now that it appears there will be a Mi Max 4/Max 4 Pro launching within a few months, I think I'll go with the less expensive 4GB version and upgrade to the Max 4 around the new year. I love big screens haha.
I loved my Mi Max 3, but the call quality was so poor, I had to switch. I got a Mi 9T, which is incredible, overall...but I miss the bigness of the Max 3. The Mi 9T would be perfect if it was 1/2" longer and 1/4" wider(with a 6.8" screen). I am waiting for a bezeless phablet with overall phone dimensions 6.5" x 3.25". Great for big hands and browsing, yet not too big for regular phone use. I don't understand why nobody offers a phone like that, now.
I know this is an old video but the Mi Max 3 was/is really my dream phone: big battery, big screen, more than decent performances... I was waiting for the Mi Max 4 but it's a shame that Xiaomi stopped the Mi Max serie.
That's a shame, as I was hoping for a 7000 battery with some new features.. The Max 3 hasn't enough to make me want to part with the Max 2.. I thought the battery was supposed to be over 6000 but I think its only 5500 which is only 200 more than the Max 2.. Still the Max 2 is the best phone I've ever had and it only cost me 180 euros.. The glass us really tough as I've dropped this phone on several occasions and there's not one hairline crack on the glass.. I hope they rethink and continue the Mi Max series of phones and bring out a 4th one..
After switching from the Mi Max 2 to a Huawei Mate 10 Pro I have to admit, that I really miss the huge battery. 4000mAh are okay, but it's just not the same :D
What about the honor note 10? That thing Is also huge with a 7 inch screen please make a video on it Linus! But it's a chine exclusive so you have to use aliexpress to get one.
Nice media monster! I use a 7" phablet as a weekend, camping movie machine. Add a stand along with Bluetooth speaker. But for daily use ( which I did for @6 months) kind of clunky to carry. Peace
Another big downside is that you won't be able to use music player, phone's internet browser or your file manager without agreeing to sharing your private information phone calls photos and everything that happens on your phone with xiaomi. You are forced to agree to the most ridiculous license agreement just to use file manager. That's really slimy and crappy and low.
I love this phone! I got it's on global version from last September , the best upgrade could be to have a snapdragon 845 our 855 if they make a pro version ! Bluetooth 5.0 make a huge difference for the distance and pairing. 10-15 SOT great pictures and videos for the price. Hard to beat!
Some sites already wrote about the mi max 4 it could use sd 720 chipsit 6GB RAM and 3 setup cameras at the back and 12 MP for selfi and even nfc support . I hope these specs are true , if so with price tag of 290 usd as they clamied it will be a phenominal phone .
I feel so good to watch this video in my own Mi max 3 just a big wow....I happy literally....this phone has not been launched In India as far as I know I till date ....but one of mine friend brought it online....It,s chinese version...But no trouble at all...well human desire has no limitation...so waiting for the next giant one....I just love big giant phone with big RAM ROM...I feel really like. I am holding my PHONE.....
Had it for a week then sold it on.... was a brilliant phone with a great camera and insane battery optimisation but it was just too big.... now I just wish Xiaomi would give a 6 inch version it would be a keeper.
Switched from s7 edge and using it for 2 months happy overall but i needed to adjust myself to lcd cause it's not as fast and responsive as amoled but it's decent enough (i like picture quality) also speaker quality is really biggest disappointment it's not clear balanced or loud its just okay. Battery is amazing ofc. Miui is okay i hope they'll fix little hitches on gesture control mode and weird sd card bug (file transfers with 3rd party apps makes the files unusable till next restart)
Whats your favorite big phone? Ive watched your 2 recent videos the mi max 3 and the honor 8xmax - both big phones ... my honor note 8 just broke (broke the screen) and looking for a replacement. Which did you prefer to use or do you prefer another? thanks
I'd buy the mi max 3 for sure since it has no notch, a 500mah bigger battery, aluminum body (I prefer it) and it also has custom ROM supported unlike the honor because huawei pulled off a d*ck move by removing the option of unlocking the bootlader.
Had my mi max 3 for a few months now an its pretty good. Few things like transfering files an usb tethering are a issue though . BAttery is godlike, camera is 7/10 i would recommend too others that want a big phone.
Why would you look ridiculous while talking with this phone? We live in a time where people talk to headphones. They seem to be talking alone like some crazies. This phone is wicked cool. Can't wait for the Mi Max 4
Thanks for the video....love your channel. Any idea when Xiaomi is, or ever release the Mi Max 3 global in colors other than black and the larger ram & rom? That's the only think holding up my purchase
As somone that values privacy, open bootloader, good rear cameras I don't know. I have the Mate 10 alp29 at present and the rear cameras and battery are great. I hate the LCD and inability to find a screen protector that fits.
Great video! My Mi Max 3 is comming to me from GearBest! I'm really excited about it. It's time for change Redmi Note 4 for that huge golliat! Can you compare Mi Max 3 with Honor Note 10? In my opinion Honor is really, really beatiful phone.
I have the Mi Max3 now for over a week. To me it's amazing. Great display and it makes beautiful photo's. I unplugged the phone on monday morning around 7 o'clock. I used it to listen to music for 9 hours a day, whatsapp, phonecalls, play games, read news and watch youtube. The battery was at 8% when i came home on thursday...!! That is amazing... The only bad thing i found so far is the FM radio. I used my old phone to listen to FM radio in stead of mp3 but the radio on the MAX3 is absolutely RUBBISH..!!

I'm watching this video on the Mi Max 3. I've been using it for 4 days now and there are 2 things that I don't like from it. 1. The notification LED is only white 2. The included charger produces a coil whine noise and is a 💩

some advice using 7 inch or 6.44 16:9 phones. my hand is under medium size, It is ok to use one hand with a ring. Go for mono sound, the upper speaker sux. Use google camera instead, way better quality. last, never upgrade os, and try no to upgrade app since it is a 636. for gamers, go for huawei enjoy 9 or honer 8x max or note10 970 instead.

Yes, I have the Honor 8X Max for 3 months now.... I will release my long-term review this week. I did not make an initial review of many products because I fractured my foot and it took a long time to fully recover
I remember that one, size seemed out of this world at that time! Found it a very fragile handset had to repair it several times. Couldn't get used to anything smaller after it... Mimax 1 much more solid survived several drops on 3 now even better couldn't recommend it enough for a big phone
Performance is lightening fast for most things, it's only the most serious of gamers that would gain much from the high end processers these days and the 636 is very power efficient which I would argue is more beneficial for most users

I'm thinking of getting the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 instead of this. It's cheaper but practically have better specs in everything.
Nice long term review! Too large for me but that battery life makes it very tempting!
I hope they rethink and continue the Mi Max series of phones and bring out a 4th one..
the problem with the Mi Max range gets the latest update after some of that usage compared to other XIOAMI models
My problem is the locked Bootloader.
Locked bootloader without any chance to unlock it so you basically buy overpriced phone and they still dictating to you how to use your phone ...
@@TheFiXaS I've seen people that have been rooting them XDA has a thread on it. You can get the code for about 20 quid.
@@LEO-xo9cz not worth it i better of going with Xiaomi lol
It has 4K video stabilization if you install Open Camera.
Currently have it installed but how do I use it exactly? Already have it set as the default app
I installed it and set it up as shown in UA-cam tutorials, but I still don't have a EIS in 4K video?
@@stefanvasilev9318 did you update it recently?
@@jovanblackman2608 Yeah, updated both MIU and Open Camera, tried different bitrate and framerate options, still nothing...

What was your previous phone?

My mi max 3 10 percent lost every hour
I only play ml and messenger 😒

I charge mine every 2 days, and still have 15-29% battery
Had it for a week then sold it on.... was a brilliant phone with a great camera and insane battery optimisation but it was just too big.... now I just wish Xiaomi would give a 6 inch version it would be a keeper.
Xiaomi note 5/6 pro is almost similar phone with smaller screen
mine died withinn 12 days of purchase, RMA and they swapped the motherboard within 3 days. just got it back hopefully it'll live longer than 2 weeks
Terrific and smooth review, direct to the point. Is there also an electronic image stabilization on the front cam?
Had my mi max 3 for a few months now an its pretty good. Few things like transfering files an usb tethering are a issue though . BAttery is godlike, camera is 7/10 i would recommend too others that want a big phone.
use google camera, turn camera into 9/10. tested night time
@@ryanllts This app is incompatible with all of your devices. any ideas?
Why would you look ridiculous while talking with this phone? We live in a time where people talk to headphones. They seem to be talking alone like some crazies. This phone is wicked cool. Can't wait for the Mi Max 4
Which one is better in terms of longevity? This one or the mi 8 lite/youth?
I have mine for 2,5 years Haven't regretted it since
Wish I knew this channel long before. You review a lot of budget friendly spec high smartphones which I absolutely love !
Thank you very much! Really appreciate that!
Great video Linus. What is the battery life mah?
5500mah
Hy
In terms of camera: Huawei mate 20lite or Pocophone F1?
I need opinion, please
Thank you
Mate 20 lite
Is it a substantial upgrade to the mi max 2
Thanks for the video....love your channel.
Any idea when Xiaomi is, or ever release the Mi Max 3 global in colors other than black and the larger ram & rom? That's the only think holding up my purchase
As somone that values privacy, open bootloader, good rear cameras I don't know. I have the Mate 10 alp29 at present and the rear cameras and battery are great. I hate the LCD and inability to find a screen protector that fits.
what camera did you use to shoot this video?
i only want to know about the launch in india? i'm very much exicted about these device.
Hello , I am Ashish Dube from Mumbai. I am selling Mi Max 3 phone .Whats app me on 9987473733 for details. All over india delivery possible.
I am watching this on my mi max 2 and i still love my phone, 16:9 display with capacitive button and no protruding camera lens.
any lag software?

No, all thing's pretty smooth, and its surprized me.
What is the average battery life
Have the Mi 8 is it worth changing to mi max 3 as I want longer battery, worth the trade off?
Thats upto u ,I think its a good phone... only its processor is outdated a bit
I'm using the xiaomi mi max 3. You have wonderful review here but one mestake, it is only one stereo speaker, the right one, the left one is just for desine and not for more
the second one is on the top
Also how do you compare this phone with note 8 Samsung are they compatible in performance? Thanks again
My mi max 3 10 percent lost every hour

Is that supposed to be bad???u have more than 8 hours SOT
That's actualy normal time for the screen size
Thank you so much for this wonderful information I do have a question does this phone offer screen mirroring feature some phones call it smart view that you can mirror the phone to the television thank you so much
Does it have select to speak it's in accessibility☮️
Does this receive US 4G LTE bands? More specifically will it work on AT&t?
MIne works great and is super fast on the AT&T 4G LTE network.
Can this be used in the US? T-mobile?
Hey is the camera legit good because my mi max 2 camera sucks. ALso do u have problems with instagram? I upload videos and its slow motion, i have tried taking with external and inside instagram app no difference. Same goes for boomerangs. Also instagram makes the quality worse. Thanks :)
Gratz for 100k subs, you did well
Definitely, worth buy ....the best big screen , small tablets ever made ...
I'm watching this video on the Mi Max 3. I've been using it for 4 days now and there are 2 things that I don't like from it.
1. The notification LED is only white
2. The included charger produces a coil whine noise and is a 💩
Plz
Comfortable screen?
Quality of Speakers sound ?
Quality of call sound?
Pictures?
Thnx
@@bravedive6201 The phone isn't very comfortable because is very big. The screen is very soft, but gets some scratches quite easily. The screen looks good, but is a little yellowish.
The sound quality is quite bad. Over headphones the sound is good, but not excellent.
The pictures are good overall, but night photos are crap like any other phone.
The call sound is average.

Thnx bro for those informations
So i will buy a pocophone f1 😉
@@bravedive6201 The Pocophone has the same screen (manufacturer) and I wouldn't expect to be a phone much better than the Redmi Note 5 or the Mi Max 3 apart from the performance and the camera
@@bravedive6201 In fact, the Pocophone F1 would be a Redmi Note 6 pro made of plastic with better camera and CPU.
nice review again bro linus i have a question can you use other launcher on this device??
You can install Nova on this one

Please can you check if Pocophone F1 has the new uppdate, and it has solved the issue regarding screen bleeding, status bar, notification led, etc.

Does this phone have the ‘split-screen’ function where you can use two apps at the same time?
Can you use the split-screen when you put the phone to the side in landscape or can I only use it in portrait?

Currently using this phone... Did anyone else receive an update recently?
Is this getting all updates n usa?
My phone arrived on December 24th, and within a couple of days the MUI 10 update was available. I have had a couple of other updates come through as well. So to answer your question: I would say "yes".
@Corbindallas666 I have T-Mobile through Tracfone and have had no problems with the service. Love the phone!
This phone seems a great buy for the price, the screen size is a massive but i think if you are using the phone daily it could be a little cumbersome.
Went to Shanghai with intention to buy this phone, let sales guy talk me into Mi8 lite instead (same price for 2 xtra gigs RAM, SD660, better? cameras), sorta wish I had stuck with original plan! Want Love Mei case available for Max 3 not my phone.
some advice using 7 inch or 6.44 16:9 phones. my hand is under medium size, It is ok to use one hand with a ring. Go for mono sound, the upper speaker sux. Use google camera instead, way better quality. last, never upgrade os, and try no to upgrade app since it is a 636. for gamers, go for huawei enjoy 9 or honer 8x max or note10 970 instead.
Just bought mine today and it's the best fone i've owned.👍😁
I heard that the screen has a yellow tint? Is that true? Because I'm gonna buy the phone very soon so I'd really like to know
Thanks so much for the review but my Max 3 lacks face recognition. Lastly please let me know the names of those games used in the video... Thanks
My hands are big so 1 hand usage is possible 😂😂. Its big screen and over the top battery life is the reason i had bought its predecessor. Now waiting for Mi Max 4
When will it launch in India ?
Hey Techline,
Thanks for the video, great as always.
Can you maybe help me?

I heard that the screen has a yellow tinit? Is that true? Because I'm gonna buy the phone very soon so I'd really like to know
Have you checked Honor 8x Max? How does it compare with Xiaomi Mi Max 3?
Yes, I have the Honor 8X Max for 3 months now.... I will release my long-term review this week. I did not make an initial review of many products because I fractured my foot and it took a long time to fully recover
The only time I got a look of disbelief pulling something out of my trousers is when I used to carry the Sony Z Ultra.
I remember that one, size seemed out of this world at that time! Found it a very fragile handset had to repair it several times. Couldn't get used to anything smaller after it... Mimax 1 much more solid survived several drops on 3 now even better couldn't recommend it enough for a big phone
I like this Review, But you think that Processor need more higher?
Performance is lightening fast for most things, it's only the most serious of gamers that would gain much from the high end processers these days and the 636 is very power efficient which I would argue is more beneficial for most users
