Really never heard of stevie Ray Vaughan, this ought to be interesting, yes right from the start good, real good, damn like it ten seconds in, oh damn when he started singing, wow, this is nice, I can get into this, this sounds so familiar, blues, that's what I couldn't remember, wow, never thought I would like this I'm shocked, mind blown, this is awesome, definitely coming back, going to have to turn everything off and chill, didn't have to sing, nice touch, lol lol behind his back wow, I'm done, 😮😮😮, stanging ovation definitely, yes can't talk, just WOW, thanks.
Lol yeah he blew me away when he did it behind his back 😹😹 thanks so much for the love and support Jeff as always
@@stillmrdoge 👍
Time keeps on ticking...
I agree with all the accolades below about Stevie. He was a force of nature. NOBODY hammered the frets like Stevie.
But the 70's had a lot of great guitar heroes and I was blessed. Here are a couple and my first rock concert:
May 19, 1973 East Tennessee State University
Rory Gallagher - ZZ Top
4 dollars
It was about two months before ZZ Top's Tres Hombres album came out. (Dusty Hill's 24th birthday, I came to find out on his passing) It was Festival Seating and I managed to get about 15 feet from mic center. Rory Gallagher was pure fire right out of the gate, and his band was phenomenal. (particularly Lou Martin on his electric piano) Rory was amazing to see play and I think that he had as much fun as anyone. Then, Billy Gibbons and the boys came out. Back when they were the most badass blues rock band that ever was. Straw hats, jeans, no beards (but Frank. lol), and BG in a white tshirt w/ pack of Marlboros rolled up in the sleeve(lol). Needless to say, Rory and Billy made a big impression on a 16 yr old. Blues rock, slide guitar nut ever since.
RIP Rory, Rod, Lou, & Dusty. Thank You!
Keep Rockin' Billy, Frank, & Gerry

Cheers!
He was a good old Texas boy who got his start playing in all the bars & dives all over Texas & I don't know if too many people from Texas who don't love their native son Stevie😊
You older fans must admit ...that we all are waiting for the reaction to Stevie's behind the the back party trick
Ouuu I'll add that for ya 👏❤️
It's my favorite part of the whole song is the look on their faces.
"Exquisite" is a great word to describe the phenomenon of SRV.
SRV is, was and will always be the GOAT!
Stevie didn't play guitar, he was actually possessed by it and the guitar played him
Lmao what are you on 🤣🤣🤣 I love it
@@stillmrdoge I mean you just watched some of the evidence
He’s theGOAT OF GOATS…THAT IS WHO HE IS!😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Blue eyed soul...
Many consider this the greatest guitar performance ever filmed---and I'm right there with them! By the way, Stevie overcame a horrendous addiction to cocaine and alcohol, then became an inspirational advocate for sobriety, and was nearly as kind and humble as he was an incredible guitarist!
Wow that's just amazing man 🙌
He's unmatchable. There's so much more to react to by Stevie.
I cant wait to explore more of his music
SRV is one of a kind in his own right as considered one of the best guitarists of all time.
I can see that
The GOAT My favourite musician of all time. for sure.
God mode activated... SRV was the best to ever do it
SRV was the Goat on guitar. He was amazing. It's terrible we lost him so soon.
The greatest guitarist to have ever picked up a stratocaster.
🙌
Oh, there are definitely better players with technicalities... but NOBODY has SRV's stage presence and ability to play off-the-cuff live. Listen to his studio recordings and then listen to him live. A lot of his live playing is the basic outline of the song, but improvised heavily around it. If you listen to his live performances of the same song, too, they never sound exactly the same, but are also incredible.
Stevie Ray's the best guitarist I've ever seen. Joe Bonamassa is right up there.
he went crazy on this one! dont know who that is but you can give me a song by him and ill do it
He "BORROWED" the style....from a young black kid. Let's be honest? "RED HOUSE?" ;)
Joe is tight
@@MrGlastar1 SRV's love for Jimi is well documented. He has pedals that belonged to Jimmy on his pedal board, given to him by Jimi's family, in appreciation of his fandom for Jimi. But he was inspired also by The Three Kings, and other blues legends.
@@MrGlastar1 GTFOH, "borrowed" the style my azz! It's no mystery Jimi was definitely a big influence on Stevie. But, you can't borrow a style from the way Hendrix, SRV, Moore, etc... play the guitar. IT's a feeling that comes from deep down in the heart & soul in players you can't teach, borrow or buy which separates them from the rest. You either have IT or you don't, period. Just keeping it a buck! 🤘😜🤘☮️
Stevie Ray Vaughan was a blues rock artist from Oak Cliff Texas sadly we lost him on August 27, 1990 in a helicopter crash he was only 37 but he was a Blues legend. He played a guitar like no one else the music just flows out of him . Fun fact he never played the song the same way twice he would always change a little something. You can’t go wrong with Stevie BUT when you react to him it has to be live so you can watch all the magic
Even worse, he was only 35.
oh man he passed so young 😪
You are watching a perfect example of the Flow State.
ouuuw me like it
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 The goatiest goat in all of goatness
**Life Without You at Capitol Theater**
**Voodoo Child at Austin City Limits 1989**
these were heavily requested so i will do them next 🦾🚀💕
Biggest GOAT IN the world!! Along with the rest of the Biggest Blues player❤😊
Love to see younger people appreciating Stevie Ray great reaction.
Good Sir, that is pure blues: no additives, no preservatives, all-natural and straight from the source!
roger that very potent indeed 🙌💕
Down the Stevie rabbit hole you Go!!!
Lol
Go find his CHANGE IT live performance. Go find any of his Austin City Limits TV show airings. His live shows are 'where it's at' and, in general, whatever audio-shortcomings are more than compensated by the energy of SRV, his band and the fans.
Takes his bow while playing behind his back......EPIC !!
CRAZY!
If you liked this one please check out "life without you "at the capital theater! Srv is the goat for sure 🙏
I got you, I'll add that one to the list for you
Me I'm 60 y/o and have lived in Texas all my life and I got to see SRV live 3 times back in the day... By far the best... ya gone way too soon.
oh man i can only imagine the rush you had! i will never have that experience 😰
"That is exquisite." I couldn't have said it better myself.
Lol ♥️👏
You've just watched the GOAT blues guitarist. Definitely check out his other songs!
Thanks, MrDoge... this is widely know as one of SRV's most iconic live performances.. nobody like him before or since on blues guitar... I love your reaction.. and look forward to more.
thank you so much 😊 I really appreciate you and welcome to the channel
I see someone checking out SRV the GOAT blues guitar player ever, i click and enjoy 😊
haha 🙌❤
I saw him perform 3X so grateful to see such a talent
Oh wow that's epic
He always felt so effortless. I thought he was better than both Carlos and Jimi. Very missed! Great reaction🎉
SRV I miss your talents 😢RIP
Rip
Nice reaction. Nyeah I think you got the song's meaning right. Stevie was the most natural guitar force in the Universe. So much fluidity in those fingers, so much soul just flowing easily and naturally. Stevie was born to play guitar, and could not have been anything else with that kind of joy. And that's what he still gives us, joy to listen to and love always. His sound is magical and healing, he's helped so many people and they know it. "Life Without You", Capital Theatre. "Voodoo Child", any live version. (el Macombo, Nashville). RIP, King SRV. Thank you❤.
Thank you for the kind reply. Wow I will add those to the list for sure 🙏♥️
The GOAT SRV didn't plug into an amp - he plugged into his soul.... I suggest the meanest blues duo I ever saw with SRV and Johnny Copeland on Tin Pan Alley.
thanks so much for showing love, i think i got requested multiple times for that one. i got you ❤🙌
@@stillmrdoge SRV looked up to Jimi Hendrix. You'll see that SRV covered more than one of his songs and his clothing style also was somewhat influenced by Jimi. R.I.P. to both greats. #VoodooChild #LittleWing
I always love to see people react to Stevie. He's from Texas and such a great guitarists
Amazing man!
Love watching your face melt like we all did first time 😎 PEACE
such an awesome era you guys had
Yes SRV was down in Austin Tx when they had a torrential flood that lasted 3 days in 1980. I was there too in college. We used to watch him live on Fridays for $1 cover.
oh wow i see, figured that it was an actual flood but i guess it has double meaning too
That's the magic of Stevie, never played a song the same way twice. For the most part. Just played whatever he was feeling in the moment. Pure soul.
Simply Amazing!
It most definitely was a metaphor for the relationship problems that he had at the time you are one of the very few people who really caught that 👏👏👏🙏RIP SRV 🎵🎶🎤🎸🐐💯🙏
The blur lade me laugh cause Stevie’s guitar playing is so filthy that it being censored makes sense
lmao no i did that because the video got blocked
You don't see it everyday. Generational talent.
This was written in 1958, don't recall the original artist, but he said it was a metaphor for a guy having relationship problems and she just wouldn't communicate with him.
That's what i thought! thanks so much for the love and support
I think it was written by Larry Davis
AMAZING.
I was lucky enough to see him five times live in concert. Every time was just an event. He was the master, he was the king. Check out Mary had a little lamb live in Austin it's one of my favorites.
Oh wow that's so awesome. Lol your the second person that asked for this lol
I saw stevie live and have all albums since beginning, he is the grandmaster of bluesrocker, absolutly genius, now are two other guys upcoming, taj farrant 13years old, he played very well songs from sstevie and also a great voice, and now listen, the best gitarrist ever is matteo mancuso 🙌♥️👑
Great reaction! Great call on the meaning of the lyrics as well! The flood is his relationship, he's standing out in the rain ( tears).
awww so sad but awesome man!
This is the Blues. like you ain't never heard before.
Cant get enough 🤣🙌
Lol...just a few seconds in and Im LOVING your appreciation for Stevie. Enjoy!
BB King called SRV the best blues guitarist he had ever played with or heard, so yeah SRV top 5 guitarists to ever pick up a guitar.
wow what an honor
Saw him at Mesker Amphitheater Evansville Indiana, he opened some doors for me as I was a metal Head.
Then 6-28-92 I went and saw the Grateful Dead, they blew the walls down.
SRV was awesome, a weeknight, spurr of the moment jackpot decision.
He'd just gotten clean, life was happening for him, going his way, helicopter crash Alpine Valley East Troy WI.
RIP
oh wow man, damn thats so sad. saw he was just 37 years old way too young
Rhythm and Blues
Larry Davis first did this song in 1958. You have to listen to that one to really appreciate Stevie's version. Great reactions! Have a great day!
Peak level musician
facts
I was waiting to see your expression when he started playing behind his back….awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Welcome to the world of SRV. Jim
ayee thanks good to be here
You really don't see that every day. You get it: the soulfulness, the stamina, the emotion. Yeah. Please do "CouldntStand the Weather" or " Life Without You", both from Live at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic New Jersey🔥🔥🔥🔥
Haha thanks so much for the prescious reply I will add your request to the list
He's the goat
Can you imagine getting so bored with being a guitar god, you're like, "I'm gonna do it behind my back"
lmao ikr
Texas Blues.
He played Austin City Limits, the first time I saw him. Just nuts on the guitar and vocals. Best live show ever, IMHO, When Jimmi Hendricks died, God had a replacement all lined up
This was performed in 1980's. Long before cell phones. Texas and other wide areas of the midwest could have huge flooding events and taking out large areas of the telephones systems. He was singing about a real Texas Flood.
Its not a mixture of blues and rock. Its just some folks don't know how much blues rocks. All these rock legends were inspired by blues players. For many of them, (not SRV), rock didn't even exist when they were learning to play. Jimmy Page had to invent hard rock, to be known for playing it, as one example.
Blues wins all day
That's no mixture. That's straight blues. Good reaction! You picked up on the storm as a metaphor right away. I hope to see you check out more SRV soon.
thanks so much for the feedback and i really appreciate the love. More SRV on the way!
You should also see Jeff Healey can you see the light RIP JEFF 🎵🎶🎤🎸🐐💯
A phenomenal blues artist. Another great one is George Thorogood. The live version of One Bourbon One Scotch and One Beer is superb

Thank you & greetings from near the El Mocambo.
Oh wow greetings ♥️🙏 thanks and welcome to the channel
probably see something like that -oh maybe once in forever.amen
lol
*SRV* 🤘
Your next reaction should be SRV "Life Without You" live at the Capitol Theater.
I got you 👏❤️
The best ever! No changing my mind. That wasn't just a guitar, it was an extension of the man.
Stevie Ray got cheated. RIP.
I hope he is jamming for my mom in the afterlife, she was in love with him and her heart was broken when he died.
This was a great reaction. Looked like you could feel every note. He could make you feel it.
awww wow rest in peace mama and king Stevie. Thanks so much for sharing your feedback and showing love 🌹❤
SRV is legendary. Much more where this came from. Enjoy
Great reaction, much love and peace to you and your family😂
Thank you so much ♥️🙏 love and peace to you and yours also
It’s great to see someone hear or see SRV for the first time it usually blows people away although Stevie’s style of the blues isn’t for everyone especially todays youth most of them don’t listen to music anymore…at least not good music 🤣🤣…just sit back and watch him master that Stratocaster ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
#SRVFOREVER
one of the best statements to hear ever: i'm not sure who stevie ray vaughan is but i'm about to listen to him.
Lol and listen I did 🤣
@@stillmrdoge he was quite the virtuoso eh? such a shame the way he left us, but he left on as much of a positive as anyone can have. condolences regardless.
@@syx3s yeah I saw the feedback about his passing , damn he we way too young
@@stillmrdoge was a freak helicopter crash in bad weather. if you make it pay your people. that pilot wasn't qualified.
@@syx3s damn...
called texas blues
8:26 -- This is where Stevie gives us the business.
Texas Flood was written in 1958.
oh wow thats wayy back 🤞😎
RIP Stevie!
Yes, the song isn’t about a flood, it’s absolutely about losing his girl.
man that's tough, its so deep...
@@stillmrdoge for sure! Check out “LIFE WITHOUT YOU” Live From The Capital Theater! His multitasking skills are incredibly amazing!
There will only ever be one Stevie, and one Jimmie, but I'd suggest checking out BAND-MAID (AKA Bandmaid) - the live "Hate?" from their 10th anniversay tour being a good example!
Yes, Stevie's vocals are very much over-looked in the face of his guitar skills. Hid duet with Johnie Copeland on "Tinpan Alley" is even better, IMO, as it also shows of his vibrato better!
The best to ever pick up a guitar...
Big facts man
Jimi Hendrix plays with his teeth and behind his head in the video for “Hey Joe”. I believe he influenced SRV and many others. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it! 💙👵🏼✌🏼
lmao with his teeth is crazy i will have to check that out!
I was at that show. Enjoy
for real?
I’ve got to admit I’m so into Stevie’s guitar playing I don’t really pay attention to the lyrics like I should..✌🏼✌🏼
One bad guitarist R.i.pi S.R.V😊 also liked and subscribed and shared.
Thanks so much it really helps 🙏♥️ enjoying this older music so much
@@stillmrdoge Y.w.
The very foundations of Rock-and-Roll are Blues music. Doubt me? Chuck Berry will prove it. Led Zeppelin will prove it. Stevie Ray Vaughn just proved it.
Stick with it young man. You're in for a long strange trip (Grateful Dead reference) lol. I'll take the trip with you if you're willing to continue.
Thanks for the great reaction!
Tell me your next favorite and I'll do it 👏
@@stillmrdoge Instead of giving you my favorite, may be this? Drop the first song on the first Led Zeppelin album, the song is "Good Times Bad Times". You can discover Led Zeppelin just like it happened.
The is rock before LZ (BLZ) and rock after LZ (ALZ). Everything Hard Rock that followed drew from Led Zeppelin.
About 100 songs in the catalog, 90 of em' are FIRE!
Man you gotta check out Leave My Girl Alone live in Austin. It's a extremely entertaining performance
thanks so much John, ill definitely do that one and give you a shoutout
I was fortunate to see him live (with Jeff Beck!!)....just a couple months before that @%#@ helicopter crash that took a fantastic artist way too soon.
oh man its awesome that you did but man he was way too young
Try Sevie Ray Vaughan's two versions of "Look at Little Sister"--one with Jeff Healey.
Subbed.
"Life Without You", live at Capitol theater is another insane video to check out. Pay close attention to his guitar color.
Ayee I got you thanks so much for the request and love 👏🤓
Just found your channel because I love SRV and this is a classic piece among most reactors but " life without you" is actually this plus picking with his teeth
lol that really had me freaking out haha
Women just wanted SRV to play them, like that guitar!!!
Among the best, Jeff beck, Gary Moore, Michael Schenker, Muddy...
ouuu 😎 ladies guy
He's as close to his idol "Jimi Hendrix as anyone. Maybe Rory Gallegher as well.
15 year old me was devastated the night I heard he died in that crash 😢
Stevie Ray Vaughan did both rock and blues, but this is straight blues. No mixture here. This is also a cover.
ohhhh I see, he definitely made this his own
A cross between Jimi and Duane!
More like Jimi and Albert King---with a whole lotta Texas thrown in.
Roller by April Wine 🍷 has guitars 🎸
added!
This is blues, son.
You need to watch life without you live at the capitol
