  • In today's episode, we take you into the Bulgarian mountains for a beautiful hike along the 7 Rila Lakes, before bringing you to the capital of Sofia to explore its grand avenues and multicultural history. It was a fascinating trip and we really fell in love with our 88th country Bulgaria🇧🇬

They didn't have time to explore most of it, although they have done a great job . If you are in Europe, Bulgaria should be easily reachable. It's nice in our part of the world, and I mean not only Bulgaria but also our neighbors in Balkans. And you'll be surprised how affordable is it.

Glad you loved my city and country, guys! 🇧🇬 Hope you can try more food the next time. Beside the meat dishes we also have many tasty salads, vegan 'postni sarmi', stuffed peppers or tomatoes, potato dishes etc. There's literally a day in the year where all country goes vegan (Christmas Eve) so we have created many tasty vegan dishes for the occasion. ✨

There are still so many places we've not visited! A truly beautiful country with beautiful people. BRAVO! I'm happy you had the opportunity to visit and even happier that you are calling attention to this part of the world!

You said nice things about BG and are trying to promote the good about it. One thing I'd like is for you to make more videos in Sweden, so we can see more of it. Swe is amazing country and I'm so glad to be moving there even without ever setting foot in it, I am so excited to travel around it and be in nature! Tack så jättemycket for being awesome! 🌲🦌🌈😇

Francois Mitterrand: The Bulgarian people are one of the creators of civilization on our planet!
The English researcher, Arnold Toynbee wrote in his 12-volume history of nations that "... THERE WERE 21 CIVILIZATIONS IN THE WORLD. ONE OF THEM WAS THE BULGARIAN. IT EXPANDED ITS BORDERS THROUGH ITS STRONG CULTURAL INFLUENCE. It stretched from Belgrade to Crimea and from the Carpathians to the White Sea, called the Thracian in ancient times."
    ***
The famous English historian Prof. Norman Davis says: "BULGARIANS ARE AT THE CORE OF EUROPEAN CIVILIZATION" With many facts, he proves that Bulgaria is the oldest nation on the Old Continent. Moreover, according to him, when Bulgaria was a country, Europe "walked straight under the table".

The presidents of France for the Bulgarians:
Charles de Gaulle: "THE BULGARIAN STATE IS THE CRADLE OF EUROPEAN CULTURE AND CIVILIZATION" 1962

The Bulgarian State of the Spirit stretches from the Baltic Sea to Pacific Ocean and from the Arctic Ocean to the Indian Ocean".
"...you are the most ancient of the cultural nations existing today, and not only in Europe, but also in the world. The past swallowed up antiquity, ancient Rome, Greece, etc., but Bulgaria remained as a living fragment of ancient European culture , the most ancient ... fragment. And that is why we must preserve it, so that today's Bulgaria is not only the last fragment of the past, but also the first of the future - the first culture that will cross into the third millennium and carry the culture to the future. .."

"One of the historical merits of the Bulgarians is that they successfully kept the Turks away from the heart of Europe for several centuries. They paid dearly with their blood, with their faith, their freedom and the decline of their brilliant culture at that time" - Prof. Sante Graciotti , Italy
    ***
"Tsar Simeon was Charlemagne for Bulgaria, but more educated than our Charlemagne and much happier than him, because he laid the foundations of a national literature." - French historian Alfred Rambaud
    ***
"The Bulgarians were the people who contributed the most to organizing and shaping the civilization of the entire Eastern Europe. The proto-Bulgarians organized the Bulgarian-Slavic tribes into one nation, in which the Bulgarian spirit and culture remained leaven for eternal times".
Prof. Geza Feher - Byzantologist, who also studied the history of the ancient Bulgarians and Magyars, as well as the historical connections between them. His work is the works - "Military Work of the Proto-Bulgarians" and "Clothes and Weapons of the Old Bulgarian Army"

    ***
"This is the people (Bulgarians) who before you had everything they wanted; a people in which he acquired titles, which bought his nobility with the blood of the enemy, in which the battle-field glorifies the family, because among them it is considered without hesitation that he is more noble whose weapon has been more bloodied in battle; they are a people who before the battle with you had never encountered an opponent who could resist him, and a people who for a long time carried out their wars only by raids”.
Magnus Felix Enodius - "Praise for King Theodoric" (6th century).
