Thank you so much for liking my comment love you
this is not the biggest hill
I came to watch episodes from Kraków and i still watching you. Damn Bulgaria looks fabulous.
Haha that means we must be doing something good or interesting!
thats because it is fabulous:)
I am from Bulgaria and live in a small town 30 km away from Plovidiv - I’m so glad you like our country!
Born and raised in Plovdiv. It's always great to see other people appreciate our beautiful hometown and it's cool to see the places I visit every day video blogged. Next time get a bike and go to the rowing canal. There is a cycling track by the river. Then just sit on a bar by the canal and chill with a cold Bulgarian beer. Cheers :)
Stoked to hear you liked the vid, even if its familiar to you! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment, that sounds awesome
i am from Vietnam and I did even visit Plovdiv. love it so much... where are u living now @blackwhite
@@ledanhlamvip12 And I actually visited Vietnam this year. Amazing country and I will be back soon :) Cheers!
I really want to visit Plovdiv on my trip to Bulgaria, what would you say is the best way to get from Sofia to Plovdiv?
@@bellakaminsky3540 There is a bus that goes to Plovdiv every hour. Also there is a Fb group for ride sharing which is probably the fastest option. There is also the train, but I would probably stick with the bus if I were you. Should take 2 hours in total.
Thank you so much for loving our country as much as we do. And trust me, what youve seen is only the beginning. Some honorable mentions for amazing places: Belogradchik, Devetashka Peshtera, Gods eyes Cave, Rila Lakes, Pirin, Veliko Turnovo, Sozopol, Nesebar, Sinemorec and many more, theres something gorgous literally every 50 km in any direction you go from any point in the territory. :)
Such a lovely city!!!
Thank you :)
Wow this city looks so cool! ;-) Love how quiet and peaceful this place is! Def putting this into My "to go" List! :)
Since this was filmed in July, and in Bulgaria, it's really hot (as you could tell) and most natives stay at home from 2 to 4, there's a "rule" where 2 to 4pm no one is meant disturb others, it's considered a quiet time where everyone is at home, and generally people do stay at home a lot more during the summer, as they have ACs, that or are on the beach (Burgas, Varna etc.).
Glad you guys enjoyed Bulgaria, there's so much history in it, one of the oldest countries in the world, Plovdiv being the 6th oldest city in the world and so much more.
Yeah this girl here’s from Plovdiv, Bulgaria!❤️🇧🇬 Love to see the hometown! So much memories..!❤️
Late to the party this time (blame work). Plovdiv is just so....cool! It just is! It appears to me to offer layer upon layer of detail and interest. The old stone buildings and walls, next to old timbered houses. So much variety of architecture. It looks the sort of place that you could spend weeks exploring just taking in the atmosphere, the history and all there is to see. One question - are you featuring short section of background "crackle" in the sound track at one point in each video, or am I just losing the plot? :)
Definitely so much going on in Plovdiv, including wine! Our vid today is an insane full day tour we did 🍷 Re the crackle, definiltey nothing on purpose or that we've noticed at all. Hoping (in the nicest way possible) that it's just something on your end and not our camera or export playing up... hhmmm.
The "crackle" (on my set up - an I-Mac) is between 1:23 and 1:29. Very strange!
I can hear "the crackle" too.
A little late reply but, you can see in the bottom left corner their social media names switching at the same exact moment of the crackle, in a sort of dissolving way. I think it's just an effect from the editing
Plovdiv is a historical city with very interesting history and objects, museums and arts in streets.Beautiful video,im so happy because you visit Bulgaria.I'm born from Bulgaria and Plovdiv is my born city.❤
Friend, just one clarification .... This city is older than the Egyptian pyramids ... over nine thousand years ...
Е и какво от това? Какво е останало оттогава?
@@emilpenkov6279 Хехе, е какво е Пловдив, а? Лошо намацортени къщи от тия старите. Аз съм била в Египет, ейййй, господинчо.

Kapana literally means "The trap" so it`s normal to feel a bit lost there. I am so happy and grateful that you guys are showing my country in good light! I hope you had the most amazing time here and hopefully you return someday (maybe to check out the sea, we have old towns and ruins there too :D ). Lots of love from Bulgaria
We had an amazing time in Bulgaria - lots more for us to explore on our next visit!
Nice views!! I loved the art on the building!!
Plovdiv is a beautiful city. It's also one of the oldest cities in the world. It's full of history.
I am so happy and proud I am born there.
Guys, the streets are usually crowded but in summer (especially in July and/or August)we are all at the beach. That's why the city looks so empty. You should've visited Varna, Burgas, Sunny beach, Nesebar or Golden sands. That's where people during summer are!
No no noooo we picked the right place, no way we'd want to be walking the streets crammed with tourists!
No no no, no Sunny beach, never Sunny beach : )
I am in Sunny beach at the moment and it's quite weak season 😅
I'm from Bulgaria, Plovdiv. Yes is amazing town.
very quiet with very few people about....lovely old buildings and views across town....
Thanks for all your Bulgaria travel videos. I was born in Bulgaria but live in Australia and I miss Bulgaria every day so videos like this keep me going and make me happy to see people from other countries exploring and discovering the beauty of my home land. I can't wait till we can all travel again and I can visit my land ❤️
Glad you like them! Still lots more we wanted to discover, will just ahve to go back and hit up the mountains/ski fields next time!
So, I am born and raised in Plovdiv and when you said that the streets may look the same in Kapana you weren't wrong. Actually that is its idea. Kapan(Капан) translates to 'trap' and this neighborhood is called Kapana because you can get lost as if you were in a trap. And there weren't so many people because many of the tourists come in August and local people go out after 5 pm (after work) or they are on a holiday. July is the best time to go on a holiday from the perspective of Bulgarians.
Seems like you guys really went for a walk at the time when everyone is either home cooling off, working or out of town on vacation. There are nights when you basically have to wait to even move because there are so many people on the streets and all around. Usually on those nights, when people from the town go on walks they meet at least 5-10 friends randomly in kapana or the main pedestrian street.
I just found your channel and I Love the way you portrayed the city 🙌 Btw Kapana means " the trap" . You guys are amazing 💛
Glad you found us and thanks for the lovely commenbt
I am from Plovdiv and I am happy that you liked my contry! ❤️❤️❤️
Drinking game... every time either says "Cool" = drink...
:)
Place is so quiet, they need a sign saying "Gone Fishing"...
You ready to get drunk then?? 🤣
Plovdiv is definitely a pure gem! However it gets crowdy as well, the streets are so empty because its way too hot and everybody is somewhere on holiday! Especially in August!
Kiwi's in Plovdiv..... lovin' it !
Yup! We loved it :)
This is the Bulgarian town I remember best. I spent every summer here.🙂
Very cool place!
Аз съм от България-Пловдив
Stacey’s new word should be awesome 😎 I just typed that then Daneger said it so I guess it’s taken 😄... Love those flags above
Great material. You should visit Varna.
Thanks! Wont be visiting on this trip, but have heard awesome things
Amazing...I was born there, forgot about it a bit...being All- American most of my life! Going to visit this summer, you guys ROCK showing that treasure to the World!👌
No worries man - such a cool spot
Haha, no wonder there are no people, we don't go out before 6-7 PM in the summer. :D Greetings from Plovdiv, I really loved your video!
Must be why! Either way, makes a nice change and such a cute town
Кво ста'а майна
so i live in Plovdiv and i can tell that there are too many people here you just got there in the hours everyone is at work or hokme chilling so id say that is really busy city
Dunno, we spent 2 weeks in Plovdiv and unless it was night time we never really saw many people at all!
maybe it is because everyone is somewhere else like on a vacation or something
A very nice film ! Few people due to high temp. of the part of the day I reckon, a regular thing in these countries
Works for us!
You don't see any people in the streets cause' we actually work during the day. Try visiting at night, or better yet.. in winter! ;)
We actually really like the quiet!
You guys always find really cool street art! Also, love the running action shots! Hahahaa Daneger auditioning for the next Mission Impossible or James Bond! 🤩 👍🏽
Exactly - just waiting on the call from my agent to offer me a multi million dollar movie 🤣
Plovdiv really is pleasantly beautiful and quiet. Just wondering whether it is just so sparsely populated or the people get to work in a nearby CBD area.
Apparently most people head to the seaside this time of year, good timing for us
Oh btw, congratulations to both of you! NZ won the men and women's world rugby cup. Great All Blacks.
Plovdiv is actually full of life as there are many universities, job opportunities and has an important geographical location - on the way from Europe to Asia. It has been estimated that around 800,000 people live in the city. (Official statistics show less as many people from nearby towns don't change their address registration). Also, July and August are the hottest months in Bulgaria with temperatures reaching 40+ degrees so, most of the locals are on holidays :)
aww... it's my hometown!!! If you can find someone from there to show you around, there are so many stuff u didnt see :X
Planning to visit it next week, would you like to show me around?
My city, I miss it so much... Thanks for taking me back there
Great video. You are both wonderful. Greetings from a local. :)
We'll take that as local approval then haha, thanks so much!
Bailey's ice coffee wow! 🍵💕👌 I remember you have Bailey's ice cream in Bonifacio high street in BGC😊 .nice cinematic shot running on the rocks👍👍👍
Oh you remember that? Haha yeah we love Baileys stuff!

Fantastic
Thats such a "COOL" place lol, its ok we all use that term for everything, its in our culture i guess. Oh and that music, haha and was it intentional that you got me humming "heaven" from los lonely boys or is it just me? Love you guys and how you put a lot of thoughts into your creative vids. Be safe🌍🌎🌏
The music wasn't intentional, but we totally should claim that it was :P Glad you enjoyed :)
Hey im from Plovdiv:)
I guess the all time best is "funky" :)
Haha will try that next time
I'm from Plovdiv
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Plovdiv had 7 hills but one got destroyed to make it into pavement. The one that has the old town on it is not the highest, the one that is the furthest from that one is the biggest (~140m). And "Kapana" means "The Trap" because of the streets. If you have more questions about Plovdiv I'll be happy to answer.
Yeah, Plovdiv is awesome.. In 2019 it's gonna be the European country of culture
Hey thank you guys! That was interesting ;-) Do you remember by any chance the name of the café with the brick game?
i am from plovdiv
From focus-economics,Bulgaria inflation rate is quite high and number of population(million)
went down to 7.1 (2017) from 7.2(2016),you,two can improve Bulgaria eco by drinking a lot of beer there.
We'll take that challenge
whf?Bulgaria's economy is flourishing with 3,9% growth 0_0
Absolutely hilarious it's not a third world country. Your comment is totally incompetent. Bulgaria is an European country it cant be totally isolated, for example in my last visit to Bucharest I found prices similar to those in Sofia and generally a similar standard of living. In summary - tourism provides a good side income, but a bunch of tourists drinking bears won't shake the Bulgarian economy.
Inflation rate was high 10 years ago, now is like max 2%annually
@@catch_me_if_you_can6596 Probably above 4% if you take the grey economy into account.
It's cool!!
im from plovdiv i really like your video and i only want to tell you our plovdiv's special word and its "maina" or you can read it as "mayna" we like to add it in the end of every sentence you can try too say to someone "hello, do you know where is _____ , mayna?
Ко праиш
забраи да каеш майна :Д
ohoo ko si praim be mainichki?

Hope I can go one day! The head nods must be confusing there.
The head nod thing is a little strange to adjust to, feels so unnatural. Definitely a cool place to visit
Hahaha, good one! Yeah we'll keep you on your toes
Bulgaria it's ok!
@Daneger and Stacey may I ask you what camera are you using for for this video? Nice quality!

Im from plovdiv mate
Please make a video for stara zagora too because i am from it
There were so few people around, it looked almost like Spain or Portugal at siesta time. If "cool" is your natural reaction to seeing something, I don't see any problem with saying it. I'm sorry Dane I had to laugh at the bus story, I can imagine the looks on the other passengers faces :D
Exactly like Siesta time! Although at least the shops and bars are still open haha. Ah the bus situation was a pain, had to laugh about it though, what can ya do really.
Will you guys do a food tour in Bulgaria?
We hope so!
You have to! If you are openminded foodies, you'll love the food there. On the contrary, if you eat only finger food and fast food, you won't enjoy it. I don't know if you've noticed during your stay there, but the meat, fruits, and vegetables are way more flavourfull than in North America, or in many other European countries I've been. Exceptions are the Mediterranean and Balkan countries.
Mnogo mnogo mnogo krasiva...obicham te BG i lipsvash mi mnogo ot amerikanski chovek 😁

Welcome to Bulgaria! It may sometimes apear as a gravity or street art museum.
(I don't want to offend enyone! I'm from Plovbiv myself so please don't attack me.)
It must be super-hot there right now... :o 😓
It is! We can't wait to be in swim wear in the pool in Greece ❤️
Please, Greece is struggling with fires now - not much better! :p :D It's even tropical in Poland... Phew! I wish you safety of course. :)
Yeah we heard that! So sad. We fly into Athens very soon actually.
Central perk in Bulgaria.... n John Lennon portrait.
Yup!
I`m glad that foreigners likes our country and I`m not talking for thoose which are coming here only, because here it is cheap and they can drink and smoke for half of their money compared with their own country.
We love it, Plovdiv in particular really caught us - we really enjoyed it there.
btw im bulgarian
u missed the best, Anastas Gallery
Those are realy beautiful places that i've been too , but in Bulgaria there's much more that you can see , much better views , that you will not see the buildings , but you'll see the nature in it's full shine. All tourists go to the usual places . Sofia, Plovdiv etc. But there's a lot better things you can see there .
Kapana means Trap and yes it's quite confusing
Stacey, how about an occasional “groovy” or “radical”. :)
Radical is a winner for sure!
Plovdiv, a buetifull city
Stolipinovo: Hello batko
Use 'sugoi'
sorry to say chaps but most Bulgarians live overseas now....My wife's parents escaped in the 50,s and settled in NZ.... because they thought it was a predominantly warm country and Australia wasn't [ tthat was the thinking or propaganda back then].. ??we went back a few years ago and all the kids and us really loved it...My son was there a few months ago representing NZ Judo in the Sofia Open and he fell in love with the place.... Plovdiv was also a place that was inhabited by lots of Gypsy's and Muslims... great place ...if you go to Gotse Delchev just mention the Kumbarov name......happy travels..
Seems that way a bit, yeah. According to a few locals though most people also take their breaks about this time of the year to other coastal spots in Bulgaria or other countries - we'll take that, great time to visit! Glad you guys got to come back and enjoy it as well, great spot.
thanks guys ...really good to see you are getting around and enjoying yourselves...when are you getting married....must be soon...dont forget to get those suits made at Bebe,s..ha ha...mind you Bulgaria will be pretty cheap for that...Shumen is also a very nice place but you have to pick you places on the Black Sea....
Most of the Bulgarians live in Bulgaria and in the neighboring countries that have occupied Bulgarian territories. Stop spreading lies!
not telling lies pal i know lots that live in both New Zealand and the UK,,,,
How many millions of Bulgarians do you know living in New Zealand and the UK?
I leave in burgaria
Are you guys vegan ?
Sorry Tina, nope.
Daneger and Stacey ah. Too bad.
Hi from Plovdiv i will tell you the story why we shake heads oposit of other countries. When Bulgaria was under ottoman yok ottomans put swords on bulgarian trouts and sad will you accept islam and bulgarians who do not want to betray Christ just sad no by shaking down head cut their throats and died ,but do not change our religion :)
New word to replace "cool" : Rad
People don't say Rad enough anymore
Completely agree - rad needs more love!
So glad you enjoyed my hometown. By the way in the summer most of the locals just hide at home from the heat or just hit the seaside, hence it's empty. But to be fair I prefer it that way. As for the Old Town - Kapana is basically like 200 years old which is quite new by Plovdiv standards, the Old town is a gradient the higher you go it goes from 300 years old to 6000 years old. ;)
It looks very chill, no one bothering you. But in July and August people in Europe go on hollidays, so probably all of the citizens are by the sea.
Yeah a few locals have since told us that - still, we're stoked we got to see it quiet! Such a cool spot
Yes that's true
at the end of August becomes a madness :D but we also have quiet hours
True
Doesn't help that it gets so damn hot, you just want to chill in the shade with a cold beer haha
FYI In the middle of the day in the summer locals stay indoors, out of the sun. It's just the done thing. They come out in the afternoon and evening when it cools down and have a stroll to work up an appetite and for some fresh air.
This is epic indeed. You will be in national Bulgaria newspaper soon! 😂👍
Hahahaha the 'D&S Fame Tour' continues. We probably should stop joking about it, some people probably think we're serious 🤔
Daneger and Stacey I think it’s funny!
Best from Poland
Best back to Poland!
