I'm so glad I watched this. Your recipe is exactly what I've been using in my rice cooker, i.e. a little bit more water than rice and I get perfect results. Now I have to figure out how to cook the partially cooked brown rice that I love to use. It's not because I'm too lazy to cook tegular brown rice it's just that you can't get brown rice that is not rancid around here. And I do want to be able to put away my rice cooker.
If it's partially cooked brown rice, you could try using the same cook it the same as you cook it in your rice cooker as well. Or, you could cook it pot in pot www.pressurecookingtoday.com/how-to-use-the-pot-in-pot-method-in-your-pressure-cooker-instant-pot/
1. Rinse your rice thoroughly, till the water runs clear 2. For 1 cup of rice, add 1.25 cups of water and 1/2 tsp of salt. Stir. 3. Check lid and seal IP. 4. Pressure cook HIGH for 4 minutes, then 10 minute natural release.
Thank you for this video! What do we do at the end of the 4 minutes? Should we just let the rice sit for 10 minutes? I use the 8qt Insta Pot plus, something like that (sorry I'm little new to InstaPots). Thank you!
Yes, let the rice sit for 10 minutes - this let's the rice steam and finish cooking. Doing nothing is a natural release ua-cam.com/video/gafrMz41rpg/v-deo.html and then after 10 minutes do a quick pressure release. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it quickly. Have fun!
Thank you! Been enjoying your videos since I recently entered into the instantpot world 😂...so yes, I'm a noob and a noob has questions 🤷♀️....I often meal prep and it's not jus for myself so I often have to double or sometimes triple the amounts....sooo question is if I'm doubling my amount of rice...does the pressure time remain the same or Do I add more time?? 🤔🤨🤷♀️
Thanks! With something like rice, there's no need to increase the cook time when you double or triple a recipe. Just be sure with things that foam like rice, that you don't fill the pressure cooker more than half full. Have fun!
Hi i really like your video and your quiet lovely mum ♥️ i need to ask you about the best instant pot you tried and you love it? I am thinking about nutricook black new one or indtant pot pro plus ? Also i am afraid from instant pot of makeing food to mushy ?
For me, the Instant Pot Pro is the one I use over and over again. The Pro Plus is a great machine, but I like the button layout and the release on the Pro a little better. I haven't tried the Nutricook version, so I can't speak to that one. As far as mushy food, as long as you're using a trusted recipe, you should get good results. If you're cooking at a high altitude, that can have a little effect on food, but it's usually that the food needs to be cooked longer not that it's mushier. After a few times cooking with it, you should get the hang of it! Good luck!
I love your videos! Your instructions are so easy to understand. Trying to use a pressure cooker instruction book or recipe is infuriating. The terms they use do not FIT the names of the buttons on the actual PC! I'm making rice tonight 🙂!

Glad you like them - thanks!!
Poor mom she was interrupted by the daughter 0:54 seconds in,
good vlog though thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching - glad you enjoyed it! We like to keep the videos unscripted so there is some of both of us interrupting each other at times.
I watched a few of their videos and the daughter always like to steal the show 😂😂😂😂 Let your mother talk as well! We want the mother!
