Kentucky PG Tyler Ulis Spent His Summer Breaking Ankles at Chileague!

- Tyler Ulis put on a show in front of family and friends, playing in the Nike Chi League Pro Am over the past few weeks.
Home in the Chicago area over the summer, Ulis played 3 games with Meanstreets, leading them to 2 wins and 1 narrow semi-final loss at Chicago’s premiere summer basketball tournament. Over 3 intense games, the 5’9 point guard averaged 18.3 points, 3.7 assists, 3 rebounds, 1.3 steals, going 18-21 from the free throw line (85.7%).
Tyler was fearless at both ends of the floor playing against seasoned, current overseas pros and D League players, some with NBA experience. He was a calm, vocal leader on the floor while still thrilling the raucous crowds with his elite ball-handling and passing skills.
Still just 19 years old, Tyler always seemed to find the open man down the court. Doubts will always linger about Ulis’ size but Kentucky fans and teammates don’t doubt their point guard. Big Blue Nation fans will be pleased to see their unselfish leader having such success in his summer mixtape, playing alongside many new and unfamiliar teammates.
Now Ulis is ready to return to Lexington to lead the Kentucky Wildcats.
Thanks to everyone at Nike Chileague, Game Seven Marketing and Whitney Young High School and thanks to the Ulis family.

tyler been hittin them weights
Added some muscle to His frame ~!! Tyler is a new breed of point guard...Old school cold blooded Killer that changes the game with heart and toughness alone..He is a TRUE inspiration and He reminds me of John Stockton or Isiah Thomas..Hopefully people Watch him and learn You can put the Team First and still Dominate ...after all if your 5'9 and playing for Kentucky you're obviously a special Talent so remember his Name #heartoverheight
Tyler been drinking some protein shakes and lifting those weights 😂
Fav college player and imo best true pg at setting up his teammates and making his team better when he was on the floor
My favorite player to watch. Hopefully he makes it to the nba
Their going to talk about him because of his height but I hope he goes far.
+BruceWayne he is considered a nba prospect already he gonna go As far as how he plays this year an next alot of nba teams were impressed with him last year and are really evaluating him this year
+pj savage DOPENESS😎
little man got heart.
and skill.
I know he's only 5'9 but I really think he could be a first rounder after his sophomore or maybe junior year...
late or mid first rounder at best
Word... First round is first round... I don't necessarily think he'll be a lottery pick but he has first round material
*potential
If he can gain a couple more pounds, he definitely can be a late first rounder
+Jamal Wallace this guy for 5'9 is amazing, his defense and court vision and also his shooting is sick. First round pick is reasonable
He's so COURT SMART! FLOOR GENERALS go to the league ankle breakers stay in the park. I was glad he was showing his vision and not wasting dribbles trying to please the crowd. That's why he is where he is. He's a different breed of baller
Crafty like chris paul ppl say he to small but i could see him playin the pros if u got the rite stroke and heart for defense u can make it
+dell pc223 That's a Bad comparison ...Thomas is More of a Athletic Score first point guard while Ulis is a Floor general
+isaiah alsup true/ boatright is more like isiah thomas. Shit thomas is nate robinson with much better i.q and decision making.
that behind the back move is a killer!
beating the odds....rooting for this brother to succeed!!!
he looks like he got stronger and got a little better 💪🏀💯
It's sad that guys his size don't really get a chance in the NBA these days 😕
They consider him a nba prospect depending on how he plays this year an next year if he comback he will be in the league alot of teams where already talking about him last year hopefully he ups his vertical then he would definitely be ready after this season
Now days teams are more concerned with length than hieght because there are some long short dudes
+Joshua3d47 ryan boatright
+Shabazz X aint that many people can score like boat. scoring wise he a smaller frame nate robinson
+Simeon Nate exactly to survive in the league at that size you gotta be a bucket getter with like a 45 inch very to survive unless you tp or Steve Nash lol
I Really Like His Game. It Somewhat Reminds ME Of Mine!
Mines! Mines! Mines!
Mines! Mines! Mines!
Jeez I'm 5'10 and he's goin way further in life than I am
dude been a true pg all his life kentucky gone be lethal
U can just tell he's been puttin time In the workout gym he looks much stronger than last time I saw a 'cats game
You rarely see guys that still break ankles with non-flashy moves these days, especially high school to college basketball. That is why Tyler is one of my favorite players, he isn't that flashy but is consistent and efficient.
+Trey Downtown Also makes the right decision down the stretch
Best player to be on a ballislife vid
That Boy Is A Beast
Is there full footage
Huge fan of Tyler, hopefully he has a good ass year or couple more years and makes himself a good NBA prospect. Ma man packed on pounds too goddamn! He may kill it this year..
Tyler & Devin both should have started last year.
His game is not flashy but lethal at the same time damn
Reminds me of Trey Burke. High basketball IQ, takes his time, good defense and has that sneaky athleticism.
Their are 4 undersize pg's in his division currently. He has the most exposure out of all of them and is recognized as the better out of the 4. The NCAA this season doesn't not have an abundant amount of elite pg's. He doesn't have to worry about Top senior and fellow guards like ge had last year. With that being said, Nba scouts primary focus is the Big Men. Hence why the top 3 ranked freshman are Big men. If Tyler Ulis is to go to the Nba, now is the chance! With a weaker guard selection (fewer) than last seasons bunch.
Stfu g, his ass be hooping. He gone regardless
No shit Sherlock! Its easy to reply to a comment made long before talk of a potential top 1st round selection. There are tons of people who are "balling" but won't get selected😴. Thats despite height! Quinn Cook should of been drafted, Ryan Boatwright should had been drafted...
Out the 4 (at the time) Undersized guards Tyler Ulis is the most talked about and scouted. If He Wants To Leave To The NBA, He Should Leave After This Season! +Mike Canty
+Mike Canty I took the liberty of simplifying my comment. If you don't understand still, I can't help you! I Never Said he Can't or Will Not make it. smh 😂
+Long_Live_Mahlz while I agree with a few of your points, the league is most certainly not looking at big men. Sure they like size, but even Anthony Davis are becoming more pick n roll type players. Brandon Ingram and Ben Simmons are going to be small forwards. It's really a guards game now. Look at the Kentucky man, they revolve around ulis and Murray, while skal isn't living up to his praise as the second best player in his class.
+Long_Live_Mahlz 🤔🤔🤔
This dude is really nice !!
Dude has a lot of CP3 in him -- and not just his number. Great control of the ball and the situation; doesn't seem to get sped up by pressure and dictates his will on the game. Iffy as a high lottery pick, due to his size, unless he picks up the scoring a lot (a la Damon Stoudamire), but is a definite 1st-Rounder and may get that 14th Lotto slot (a la Cameron Payne) if he can keep developing.
our season about to begin, any tips for me? :$"
To be honest the dude doesn't even look small out there. Plays big. Good for him, hoping he can go to the NBA after his junior season.
where can i find this song?
I saw a vid on Instagram of him dunking
This my dude, I'll be playing him in two years.
Where
Lmaoo nah he really meant 2k tho haha
I see him a lot of hoop tapes commenting I like ur ambition kid don't listen to these UA-cam coaches and keep pushing cuz the grind will never stop
beast
He reminds me of a Andre Miller type he would be a solid backup point
Heart over Height.. you gone be alright Ty
He reminds me of Mugsy Bouges with a height advantage. They are both tough competitors with a 6th sense seeing the court..he'll be valuable to a nba team
Bogues*
I just found my jersey and realized I can't spell lol
The floor general
google'd "finesse" and this video came up
Dude got Bunny vision 20/20....
Someone hit the weights just a little lol
he shook wale up at the end!!!!!!
Who seen Gordan Hayward ?
@0:49 it was a slick double .. But #BBN! #UK
He plays like Peyton Siva
No one is taking the ball from him. Ever.
His nickname should be YoYo Ulis, because he just has the ball on a string!
He'll go pro. dunno where, but he's going pro.
Hopefully the nba
goina be over seas or d league guys you dont get it do you westbrook and curry would man handle him cause they have more height and are way faster then him a lot of d1 prospects are busts no team will go all in until they see him in the d league for least a year.
+Zach Smith you don't know that so stop assuming that is gonna happen. He was actually pretty good in Kentucky and it is possible he could get drafted in the nba
Z Gaming Well he is in the league and is killing it
If Kentucky STOP recruiting the best pointguards in the country tyler culd get more shine. I hope he start even tho Kentucky just got the 1st and 2nd best pg's in the country outta highschool.
he'll start. UK will start all three PG's at the 1-3 with Ulis at 1, Briscoe at 2, and Murray at 3. that offense is going to be insane.
true forgot they didnt hav a 3 and you can get away wit playing a 6ft5 . poythress andand skal the other 2 starters
Always was better then the Harrison twins if he had bounce lottery pick
Next isaih thomas , everyone gonna doubt ullis and he gonna get last pick yet still be could, sad short players dont get chances nowadays
he treated them like kids😂😂
i swear he get buckets...
ball on a string
Can ulis dunk or no?
He's going to be at Kentucky for four years.
He's gonna be at kentucky until he gets a chip
nope
Y’all not watching in 2023 like me thooo
We gone be nice as fuck this year
He ain't makin the league. He's to short.
RE7MA Where the fuck is that coming from XD! aight ill let you do you there bud. Let him prove me wrong. Still dont think hes making the league, just voicing my opinion and belief.
+Scarlett Brooke Martinez Gonzales nah I'm just a big Tyler Ulis Fan and maybe your true in someway. But all I am saying is this everyone keeps doubting him and saying he won't make the league and saying things like he's too short to be in the NBA and every Video there's Hate/doubt in him. I don't know if you watch him a lot so maybe that's the problem your doubting him. If you don't believe me just look up "Tyler Ulis Draft stock"
I'm dude and I ain't his boyfriend. I don't smoke or don't do drug. I'm just defending him for the haters. I understand people have their own opinion but I know I could've not being rude I just get to the point where I'm sick of it.
well he's in the nba now...shows how much you know
+crooklyn well in dude's defense, he DID say "Let him prove me wrong"...
Coach cal needs to let him dribble more
someone's been doing pushups.
he'll go NBA. this guy is GOOD is gonna shine without the Harrison brothers there.
he got a lil bit taller I 5"11
It's funny how this mixtape makes him look this good, but Stef Hannah gave had 49 points...lol
I've never seen him dunk.
He posted it on is instagram or Twitter but he can dunk
Reminds me of trey Burke
5"9 isn't even short it's 3 inches shorter than 6
His handles are good but it looks like he dribbles loose
no it really doesn't
I feel what you're saying... Ty Lawson and Raymond Felton both look loose with there handle but looks can be deceiving...
You my friend are blind as well if you think it looks like he has loose dribbling
+Jalen Hamilton Loose dribbling is usually pretty deceptive. Steph Curry doesn't pound the ball into the ground with each dribble but he makes it to the hoop pretty well.
+yankeesful1 loose doesnt mean bad. jamal crawford has a loose dribble. but ulis def doesnt
at 0:47 he doubled
Marcus Myrick not a double when its your first dribble. he just stole the ball. he can pick it up with 2 hands.
My dude you are blind lmao
lol he almost went to iowa
He kinda got muscular. I remember In his hs mixtape he was skinner
If you check really closely, you will see trey burke in his back pocket... #BRINGDATAHHHEREBOI
Def was better than Trevor Dunbar and I thought better than Tyus Jones their senior years.
where's Trevor dunbar?
next CP3
far from it.
😎
he traveled, changed pivots at 1:37
the only reason why he keeps on scoring is because the basket is bigger
Can't coach heart or will and he has plenty of both he'll be in the league making noise
He looks as he is not even trying.
💭
who ever drafts Tyler ulis will have a superstar on their hands is going to be a whole lot of bust in this draft coming up Simmons will be a bust he has the personality he's likable and he stands out most of the GM's come draft time will be idiot and they would let him slip down in the draft and stick to the media with a figure who's the best player
Isaiah Thomas 2.0?
Cp3 cp3 cp3
Lol that floor is ugly
1st?
He makes it look easy. It doesn't even look like he's trying
Trevor Dunbar and this kid are twins
he looks like he got stronger and got a little better 💪🏀💯
