Yes, with TU software it looks slightly different but same process. I am using Tech View in this video. I have a Chiller Community for those enrolled at chilleracademy.com for troubleshooting support and mentorship if this would help you.
Thanks for sharing the mind. I trying bind and get the message ”Device is not bound”. Could you tell me where make I mistake? I did proximity magnet and get Led is on.
HVACTIME Thanks quickly reply. I tried old temperature sensor for leaving water and get ”Comm loss: Cond rfgt pressure, Ckt 2” ”comm loss: Intmd oil press, Cprsr 2B”.
Greetings from Peru, Could you help me I have a problem with the rtaf chiller recommended factory maintenance and I don't know how to restore it, thanks
@HVACTIME I always scrounge around to find some magnet that works but I always have one of those bits in my tool bag and for whatever reason forgot that when you take the bit end off there is a nice magnet on there. Figured the manufacturer only randomly puts the magnets in and only had 50/50 chance it would work. I have a Trane RTAC air cooled chiller someone stole the CH550 off of. I found a good used one off of Ebay that poers up good but wrong software. I've added devices before, but never started from scratch with software and going to have to bind every device I presume.
You can go to their factory specific training and they’re pretty good about giving up information as long as you ask.Told me enough info in the chiller class in order to replace the touchscreen myself.
Say buddy , I've a question ... I'm working on a 70 ton CGAM...the unit runs for a few minutes.then shuts off ... When I checked the alarms it says the entering water sensor . When I rebind and look at the CH 530...the inlet values are lower than the leaving. Then it shuts off showing the same fault - entering water sensor. What am I missin ? Tried replacing with new sensors on both inlet and outlet with same result ....bearing in mind the values for both on the CH 530 says the same thing ....the entering value goes lower that the leaving. Any help is much appreciated
@@HVACTIME yea thought about that initially when I checked that the leads are different lengths...the inlet sensor is shorter...the leaving is a way longer...yea guessin Trane kinda idiot proof that one ...
@@HVACTIME I haven't , but seeing that's it's 3-phase 480, then that would indicate a phase reversal. The scrolls don't handle phase reversal ...the power leads ..as far as I can tell haven't been tampered with. If it was a rotation issue, then the compressors would not work. As far as I can tell the phase rotation is clockwise , but hey I can check the connection at the VSD just to verify .Oh thanks in advance for your assistance...
Yup checked and verified that, it was CW. Got through with it this morning, Went through all 22 devices...one by one ...unbind and bind each individually...at one point when I came out the binding view ,on start up of the CH530...the entering and leaving values was absent...just a series of dashes through both. Went back into the binding view and redid all the sensors again by unbind and bind. And wadda you know on leaving the binding view the CH came up with the entering and leaving values, the compressor started on cct 2 ...the values showed on the display how it should ...meaning the entering values were higher than the leaving. The unit is still operating . Quick question though, I've noticed there's those two icon boxes on the upper right side of the binding menu...".Reassign "...and "Rebuild " .... I tinkered with the "Rebuild" a bit . Don't fully understand both... Do you know what they both mean and how to use them correctly? Thanks buddy
Better late than never... You may need to change the chiller configuration to represent the correct part number. If that is not available, you need to update the chiller software via TechView and then you can bind in the newer style EEV.

May I ask if you can use the techview software on your chiller downloaded free from the internet.
Does this same process apply to bind sensors with all Trane Adaptiview controlled units?

Did you just luck out that the multi bit magnet was North facing?
I've used several different one's and other tech's I work with do it now too. It not work for you?
