While searching for cutting watermelons, I can't across your video on the melon platter. Great info!! I'll be trying to produce the same beautiful dish for the sunset/moonrise gathering in Gold Canyon.
congrats on your aliyah. I would love to make aliyah someday as my grandparents were survivors. I just wish someone in my family wanted to may aliyah as well from the usa. I love israel, but I dont think I could do it alone. Anyways many blessings to you and your family.
Wow! So brilliant, yet so obvious... (on how to cut and plate) very charming, indeed! :) Rabbi really cracked me up, respectfully; (perhaps his first day on Earth) he seemed like he'd never seen a sharp cutting knife before LOL! And the take on the HoneyDew/Jew... that was a little slapstick... but, amusing anyway! :) Jamie, Nach'um (Spl) I look forward to many a youtube visit with you! I actually just learned how to Kasher my kitchen!! Please, always be Well & Happy :) Cheers, Phill Simpson
you say that like they were wasting on purpose, sheesh... nonetheless, if you work your way around the melon in the opposite direction, you can use the skin as a guide where to cut, once you make the initial cut. just make sure the knife edge stays just under the skin.
a peeler wouldnt work, the skin is too thick. if its good and sharp, i suppose you could eventually peel it with a peeler, but youd have to peel like 10 times in each place to get all the way through the skin.
The wastage on the trimming seems to be more the thickness that the bin will consume is unacceptable to a chef remember the clean as you Basics on that note again you have raped the platter meaning the organisational concept is being forgotten to put right quantity nt overflooding the platter
Itsuma1 he actually did a very nice job. As a chef and a culinary director I wince internally to see little bits of skin where people tried to “save” too much flesh- left by people who don’t know what they’re doing. Nobody wants to eat hard melon.
Not nice to intentionally put the hubby on the spot in front of everyone. No not nice. How would you like it if he said you always look so nice when you film video segments - why can't you dress nice around the house instead of wearing shmatas around me?
+Barbara Belvin-Flak ----- There is no such thing as looking Jewish or Not Looking Jewish. In my opinion anyone who makes such a remark is simply a racist ! There are Jewish people living throughout the world and people are often a product of their environment. For example a Jew born and living in Israel will more likely have a darker skin colour than those who were born and living in for example Manchester, England. That is primarily because of the climate of the country that they live in, and because of the origin of their parents. That would NOT make them any more Jewish than you or I. There are many people who look like an African American who were born and living in Israel who never lived or set foot in the United States. There are many Jewish people who were born and are living in South America. They are NOT any more Jewish than you or I. Do NOT let anyone ever tell you that you don't look Jewish. There is no such thing as "a JEWISH LOOK"
nice video but maybe don't mention about the expense of the blueberries.. its a bit braggadocios. we all know the price of fruit but the way it was said..eh didn't like that so much...Good job hubby...
Thank you from India/South Africa/Australia folks - this helped a lot plus was fun to watch 😃
When my siblings and I were children our mother always gave us fruit snacks and we were thrilled!!

Loved the video but found the wife more than aggravating and rather demeaning to the husband...hello he is doing just fine talking by himself!
Sharon Palmisano They are doing a video together. I don’t see how his wife was condescending at all!!! What era are you from?
Sharon Palmisano - hahaha - good point ...she just loves to butt in, and he seems to love her enough to not mind 😄

half of the melon is gone with the skin
Not half, but I know it is sad to lose any fruit, you can save the skin and try and trim any extra fruit for yourself
Amen it really is...
Cold is just a hygiene thing
Jamie Geller, uma grávida com muito apetite.
Hmm, forgot the first step.. didn’t wash the melon first! If your going to teach people how to cut melons remember your food safety.

the blueberries no kosher ?
Fresh fruits in their natural state are kosher. The Rabbi was making fun since no actual cooking was involved. EnJOY!

shalom
Unfortunately you wasted alot of the melon while cutting :( and the cuts weren't even, however it looks yummy...try to waste less ;)

Is she wearing a wig?
Many married Jewish women do in a way to cover their real hair but without having to wear a scarf.
Great video, and it was very informative. She was annoying, however.
Jamie and her husband don't look Jewish. The rabi does.
So how does a Jewish needs to look like then?? They are from European descent!
ellamae I am Jewish. And it upsets me when people question it because I am African American. Is there really a "Jewish look" ?

+ellamae Judaism is a religion, not a race.
