This is a perfect example of why Yvan preaches communication. This guy is just doing his own thing and Nick was all over the place with the wipe off and that is how you get high spots. This guy may know what he’s doing but he clearly doesn’t know how to work as a team. Don’t worry Nick I don’t like cocky guys either. If someone is watching this trying to learn how to PROPERLY apply the coating, go watch Pan The Organizers video with Yvan for the safe and efficient way of doing this.
Thank you.
Drugs not hugs
Can i use app instead of panel prep with the diy coatings? Is it for sale separately?
@@eddieblount216 yes the APP is what’s recommended for all their coatings in place of panel prep. APP is the panel prep
@@eddieblount216yes it is. Work with the diy coatings too
Finally had a moment to watch the full video. This guy gave me so much anxiety. It seemed like he was butting heads with Nick the entire way through the install. "You're applying it too thick, that's why we like doing circles". Finally, the dude starts doing circles "Hey, can I apply it my way now?". At the end when Nick said "We have a glass coating coming out, we're not going to do the glass". The guy starts doing the glass anyway. I wouldn't trust this detailer with my business if he's not going to follow basic instructions. Listening is the most important part of working in a service industry.
Thank you.
love watching these 2 work, definitely a lot to take from this to add to my daily work ethic
Glad you enjoy it!
Love watching the two pros working. Car looks amazing! Amazing job guys 🔥 you can tell both have master thier skills on this.
Thank you.
Thank you means a lot nick knows his stuff. Really humble guy
Amazing chemistry. The gloss on that Subaru is just WOW!.
Thank you.
Thanks brother means a lot.
Thank you for your reply and thanks for this video. It shows me that this product is forgiving with high spots as an absolute Beginner it gives me confidence to go forward with the coating. (Of course, I'm going to polish first.)
Thank you.
Hell ya brother you got it. Let us know how slick that paint is after 💥💥💪🏾
I will, I'm a beginner, so this is gonna take me a long time to do. Probably a whole day from early in the morning to late at night, but I'm gonna do it. Looking forward to getting this done.@@BorndetailersTv
I was going to do the 5 3 stack next month would the c6 work better? And if so why? Love your products keep them coming!
Yes, better gloss and hydrophobics.
Good video guys
Thank you.
Finally, Nick doing a video where he sounds like the teacher, and not the dummy.
Thank you
It's because he plays the DIY'er, the guy who knows a little something about detailing but is there to ask questions and learn. A lot of times he asks questions he already knows the answer to, for a reason.
@privacyrules I know exactly the reason as he's stated, but as part owner and the spokesperson I would want a different approach. One can answer the questions without appearing as though they don't know their products.
@@mikezupancic2182 I guess you don't like their style, then. Different strokes for different folks.
It’s strange to hear Nick saying not to use more product. I guess Yvan’s getting through.😁
Lol
nice product.i watch how yvan and his wife applied it to the new car PAN the organiser just bought
Thank you.
Cool seeing 2 different perspectives! Love the energy! Let’s go 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you.
Happy Mother’s Day!! Detailing your wife’s car is a good idea. Even better if you protect it with C6 Hydro lite.
Good call!
Nice. But what exactly does the APP after polishing? And how long will last C6 ceramic coating?
The C6 Ceramics APP deep cleans the paint and makes it more receptive to the coating.
Hi Yvan,
I’m a weekend detailer doing details merely as a hobby.
I was wondering if I could use hydro lite in this scenario:
Decon wash
APP one pass (paint is mildly swirled)
Then use hydro lite
Now my goal is to achieve 75-80% defect removal and high gloss etc.
how achievable is this? And what would be the durability of the product? Would it be affected in any way?
Also I sometimes use a strong ph cleaner. How long will it take for it to degrade the coating? And also what can I use to revive the coating?
Your response is much appreciated
Thanks
You would be best to use DIY Detail Gold Standard Polish first, the C6 Ceramics APP after.
DIY Detail All Clean is safe on DIY Detail coatings.
DIY Detail Water Spot Remover is the best way to give your coating a new lease on life
Nick, can APP be applied my hand to those small sections that are too small for that 5 or 6 inch pad
Yes
How much of a difference would it make if I didn't use APP and just used Panel Prep. Are there any other steps I can take to swell the paint better to make it more receptive of Hydro Lite?
C6 Ceramics APP will give you better durability and gloss over simply using panel prep.
I'm a firefighter that works at an airport. Our trucks pump from turrets and are always dealing with hard water (hydrant water) that sticks on the truck. I detail our trucks and I used Turtlewax To the max wax and am VERY disappointment. I thought having a wax layer would keep the hard water from etching back into the paint. I ordered C6Hydro lite with panel prep/polish (APP). Will the hard water etch into this? I'm looking for something to put up with hard use as I'm not always there to wipe off the hard water. If not, what do you recommend? Wax layer to be the sacrificial layer instead of C6 or will C6 stand up to etching?
C6 Ceramics Hydro Lite will stand up to that best. Using a good non abrasive carnauba wax over it will further reduce the chance of permanent damage. You can use DIY Detail Water Spot Remover when the spots are less than a week old.
That said the best protection would be C6 Ceramics Industrial coating, but this means the unit would be out of service 2 days.
Nice product an was that a farm truck in the back ground
I don’t think it’s farming anymore
I noticed in the website's product description, C6 Hydro Lite is advertised as the "best". Is that just for SEO or can you briefly explain what makes it the "best" in comparison to all the other coatings on the market? My goal is gloss
If you’re looking for gloss, look no further. C6 Ceramics Hydro Lite is a proprietary mix of
Polysilazane
Silicon Dioxide
Silicon Carbide
Silicon Nitride
And Refined Detonated Nano Diamonds.
These work together to provide you with an extremely glossy and hydrophobic coating. The technology is cutting edge for automotive applications.
Question: I just had Icon Rocklear coating recently applied to a car - the coating known for not slick feeling... is it possible apply the Hydro Lite to the surface?
Yes, IRC is not a coating, but simply a wipe on clearcoat.
If the hydro light is better than the Stack it's a hell of a "consumer grade" coating! I can't wait to put my hand on one!
It’s definitely a pro coating that’s Available to consumers.
For how long can I keep the other half of C6 in the bottle to apply for a second car?
3-6 months
Question: beforehand you used one-step gold polish because of the coating. Which pad and any extra passes to get it all removed?
The wool pad, 3 section passes
@@diydetailofficial Thanks as always!
How do you remove bug splatter spots and marks that don’t come off with a simple wash? Is tar remover the best bet? Or does the clay towel get that done? Thanks
Pre treat and soak with DIY rinseless. Let the product work and emulsify the bugs. Pressure clean off and repeat. Then contact wash.
Time is best.
Can I add this to my new car if I just did Avalon King a few weeks ago? What would be the process to upgrade it to C6
You would need to decontaminate and polish.
Great I will order some. Question tho, why can’t y’all get the products you already have in stock? Is this going to be an issue to with this new coating? I’m a detailer and I use your products but haven’t been able to order some items! Come on guys!
We are trying to increase stock levels as much as our factories can produce
With the DIY theme, if you need so little App, will there be a more consumer friendly bottle size? Or does it have other uses?
good question
It can be used to prep the surface for any coating or LSP
If I, the DIY consumer, put C6 lite or one of the DIY coatings on, why would I need the rest of the 3/4 bottle of APP that cost $40? I understand the pro guys will do more coatings and use the product on other jobs. Does this have a very long shelf life?
Yes it has a very long shelf life
Is the red jeweling waffle pad damp or dry for the application?
All dry 👍
Does that compound remove any scratches?I'm about to put this on my car.I ordered it on mother's didn't order the compound so i'm gonna do that now.
No, it’s a deep cleaner, not a polish
I just coated my 4Runner with your 5 year diy ceramic 3 weeks ago. Can I put this on top of it? Would I just wash, then use app then coat?
No need, the 5 year is a great coating. If you did want to change you would need to polish, APP then coat.
I wouldn’t recommend it. The 5 year will perform just fine theirs no need to put another dedicated coating over it. If in a year or two you want to change it up you can always do a quick polish to remove the 5 year and then start fresh with the Hydro Lite Coating.
Wow. Can't believe these comments. I thought the video was fun. APP is a great product I've used it on a couple of cars with the regular DIY coatings (great coatings by the way!). Why knock a coating you haven't even tried? I wish I had another car to try the hydro lite
Facts I feel you great time. Some people are bitter.
Thanks for sharing
Would you use a car lift for ceramic coating ?To make sure of full application.. being slouched over seems very uncomfortable
Get a knee pad or a small stool with wheels.
Yes
maybe a stange question, i have 2high spots in my wheels 1 in the barrel and 1 on the backside of the wheel, so normally you cant see them when the wheels are not of. is it a issue and can i leave them where they are? on my car i havent any, but what is the issue with high spots? is it only visual??
If they don’t bother you, leave them there.
thanks for the quick response
what will be a good drying lubricant when washing a car with this coating?
DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash
So if you apply the coating without the app, what are the downsides?
Less gloss and durability, the APP improves those with any coating
So is there a regular version of the Hydro coating as well as a consumer oriented “lite” version? The bottle and box in Pans Porsche video are different that the other posts and videos I’ve seen covering Hydro “Lite”.
Correct, pro version and consumer version
When would panel prep be preferred over APP?
APP is needed for the c6 ceramic coating while panel prep is used for the other DIY detail coatings
The APP is always preferable ( with any coating). But for those not wanting to use it, then DIY Detail panel prep is fine.
Great products but can you please give us the British version 🙏🏻👍🏻
Its on the way to the UK
Why should I choose the 6 year Hydro light for $299 vs the 8 year DIY coating for $160? How can a less durable coating be more expensive = confused. What are the pros and cons of each, help please, thx
Better hydrophobics and gloss. Cost more because of the Refined Detonated Nano Diamonds
Don’t pay attention to the ‘years’ attached to the coating. Any coating can last a lifetime if maintained properly. Just because it has 6 years instead of 8 attached to it does not mean it is “less” durable. The Hydro Lite coating will perform better during those 6 years if you were to compare the two and it is technically a lifetime coating if maintained properly.
Performance. Both can last much longer if cared for. C6 Ceramics Hydro Lite will give you better gloss and hydrophobics.
Is one 30 mL bottle enough to do an entire bmw x7, including wheels?
Yep 👍
Do you have to throw away the the leveling towels?
Put them in a bucket with rinseless wash to clean them off before washing them in a machine.
No need, once finished put them in your wash bucket 15 mins
You can tell Jamie is a pro! Does it like a boss! All these other people are just scared to do quality coatings like a boss!
Thank you.
Difference between the hydro and the 5 year?
Better gloss, hydrophobics and slickness on C6 Ceramics Hydro Lite
😂 Nick playing catch up. I’m with Nick, do it slow, do it once.
You’re already spending so much on the coating.
Thank you
18:51 f it 🤣👏
I'd do it all but I don't follow the rules 😂😂
Goes to show how easy it is to apply.
I’m guessing it will do a midsize picky, how about a full sized pickup?
Yep no problem
So if all you need is 3 drops of app why is the bottle so big ?
It’s our standard size bottle
Thanks for having me brothers.
Thanks for letting us use the shop and helping out!
Having you and Nick on was kind of cool thanks for the video @jamie and Nick
Why such a large bottle of APP if you need so little? Why not a bottle half that size?
C6 Ceramics is mostly aimed at professionals that are coating several vehicles a week
Nick, please explain the super shiny steering wheel. 🤔 haha
That’s life
@@diydetailofficial that's true
all i want to know is when is it possible to ship to europe? i need to try all of your stuff ASAP
Everything is already available

“Can I just work like I’m going to work?” lol biggest ego on this guy
Kinda swagging too much yes
Hard to teach a know it all anything!
Thank you.
Im a working Detailer not a sales person. Thanks for the feedback brother. You get real life when you work with me 😂😂
Hi Nick, are the diy drip catcher magnetic towels still available or discontinued? Where can we get them?
The will be back soon
Alavaible soon
Amazon has magnets & surely you have a couple of micro fiber rags?
Great video 👍🏼👍🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Thank you.
What is the shelf life of the bottle once opened? Is there an optimum storage temperature (or temps to avoid) that will maximize shelf life? Would wrapping the bottle neck with electrical tape help at all?
3-6 months, cool dry place( room temperature) not in direct sunlight.
That may helps
@@diydetailofficial thank you
People love to talk shit behind screen lol. You’re just seeing two different work styles, Jamie knows what he’s doin 💯
Thank you.
Thank you very much really appreciate it most of the hate are bots no real followers or profiles it probably someone they know 😂😂
Did I heard glass coating?
Yes … stay tuned
Wow. This guy just doesn't listen. To much product and way to fast in applying to finish. He needed to take a little more time. Next time do it yourself.
Thanks for the view
I watched Pan’s video. Hydrophobics is simply superior on the C6 Hydro. Little disappointed but I guess that’s the difference between lite and full version.
The hydrophobic shots on Pan’s were taken a week after installation.
48 hours. At least that’s what Pan disclosed.
The longer curing time the higher hydrophobic properties?
@@diydetailofficial does the Diamond cut give you more gloss?
Ready
Thank you.
Kind of confused .no more iron ,clay,Po.ish & prep?
All the prep work except for APP was done before the video.
@@privacyrulesso your polishing then alcohol prep & polishing again then using App? What are you saying?
The prep was done before. Being, wash, decontamination, light polish with DIY Detail Gold Standard Polish, then C6 Ceramics APP, no panel prep Needed
Of all the names why pick one that is the same except for the number "2" as CarPro Hydro2 / Hydro2 Lite?
It’s C6 Ceramics Hydro Lite
Nick sorry you had to deal with this type of person in this video I clicked off soon as you were offering a suggestion and he dismissed you with "can I do what I do" definitely not someone worth watching 20-minute video with I was done in less than 5 and would never take my car to that guy.
Thank you.
This dude gave me anxiety in the worst kind of way. Absolutely no way he's done 1000's of coatings installing like that!
Thank you.
I've done pretty close to 1000. That's for your feed back.
This guy is the definition of can’t teach an old dog new tricks. He’s so close minded won’t do anything Nick mention. While Nick absorbs Yvan’s teaching like a sponge and improves.
Thank you.
Here for the triggered comments of seeing what it’s actually like when you leave you car with a professional 😂 JNG the 🐐💪
Thank you brother if you don't have haters, you ain't doing things right.
Thank you.
Lifetime coating for $40 pls
You know of one?
Not compatible with current technology
First!
Thank you.
I personally have no faith in this product. Two guys in a garage, neither who appear to be Chemist, suddenly develop a SUPERIOR coating and a primer polish? Nope, i will continue to use a Dedicated company that i think will exist in 5 years over a couple of wash guys.
Yvan Lacroix has been developing detailing products for decades....
We are far from 2 guys in a garage developing products. I’ve been involved in R&D for 40 year
The APP is not a primer but goes into the paint and swells it until the coating is applied.
Yvan alone has been in R&D for 40 years.
DIY and C6 are just starting out and will continue to grow.
sorry 300 dollars isn't "consumer" its not a "DYI" either. this is beyond even some of the best ceramics out there. Your prices are out of control. sad
We have the DIY Detail coatings for those with more restrained budgets
Way tooo expense compared to other coatings. Sorry guys.
That’s why we great coatings with DIY Detail
Horrible job need lessons. Ivan show them
Thank you.
Didn't love this one. The directions are there ofr a reason. Don't care experience level. To be honest I'm switching ant about 75% through. I'm a big fan of DIY, just not this one.
Thank you.
Why do you have your own coatings if you're just going to do this stupid crap? Why would I buy your own coating if you're soliciting this as better?
This is their own coating you airhead
Because not everyone wants a $299 coating
@@diydetailofficial Hardly anyone does, so why are you soliciting it?
@@MeliorIlleHardly anyone does? We’ll wait for your stats and market research to back it up. It’s as simple as a different value proposition. Some coatings are less expensive and easier to apply for a different target in chemical resistance, hydrophobicity and gloss ratings. Other coatings aim higher. Consumer choice isn’t a bad thing.
This coating is part of the diy company. It’s their professional line up. Just like how Volkswagen has Audi.
Don't work with this egotistical guy ever again.🤦♂️
Thank you.
