500 Days in The Long Dark - Part 26

- After surviving The Long Dark for 500 Days on Stalker mode...it's time to try the same on Interloper. There will be no firearms, looted hatchets or knives. We must make our own defenses and tools in order to survive this self-imposed challenge. It's time to see if we achieve victory or die a horrible death like everyone else on Great Bear Island.

The Long Dark Interloper is the hardest mode in Sandbox mode (The other difficulties are Pilgrim, Voyager and Stalker). The game describes that this mode is "For expert players looking for the ultimate wilderness Survival challenge."
In The Long Dark Interloper difficulty, you start with the most minimal resources, supplies are very scarce and Wildlife is rare, but it is more dangerous
- Interloper was a new game difficulty, introduced in v.364.
- The world becomes more hostile to you as you play. Global temperature drops, wildlife and fuel resources become more scarce, and Blizzards become more frequent.
- Apart from the Hacksaw and Hammer, which spawn rarely in the world, you need to create all your own improvised tools (ex. Hatchets, Knives, etc.).
- The best Clothing and Food items do not spawn.
- Wolves are more rare, but also more deadly.
- Wildlife becomes more rare over time.
- There are no firearms in the world.

That hand animation while harvesting is probably that your hand is going numb cuz the bag of meat is cold
You never put that last bag in your inventory, you just went to harvest. That's why it disappeared.
Just watched all 26 episodes in a couple of days.It's good relaxation after work so you just keep up with the videos👍
FYI: the bags of meat also have the bones in them, so they weigh 2x as much as the meat you get out of them. Thus your meat was around 2.5 and your bag was around 5. Also, look under your food tab to find your food easier

I'm sure they will fix that glitch with the bags of meat soon, seems like a pretty big bug. I haven't encountered it in my game yet, but maybe its happened because your save begun before the update, and i started my save after the update.
I had an issue with my quarter bag disappearing but I found out it was just my son and his friends. lol Just kidding! I loved how quickly you added "of meat" to your quarter bag statement. 💀🤣

Just fyi you are carrying around 2 finished books and 0 books you can read. You left an unread book back at the camp office on the blue chair by the front door, and there is also a sewing primer up at the lookout you left. You might want to read that sewing primer because your sewing skill is still at level 1. I also don't know if you grabbed a new sewing kit when you were at camp office because your last one ran out and you had some mending to do....also you are carrying around flour and oil and oats that you could've dropped off at camp office when you were there. thanks for the series :)
I don't really care too much about the sewing skills. I have a bunch of books waiting to be read at the fishing village on Coastal. 2 cooking, 2 harvesting and 2 fishing. I'll focus on those first I think.

You did try to harvest the second bag in the beginning of the video before you put it in the inventory (the one that disappeared). You didn't actually start cutting it but you did open the harvesting interface.

The hand gesture maybe a form of emersion showing pain or other discomfort during harvesting.

I'm like 99% sure that you didn't pick up that second sack of deer meat, but instead inspected it from it sitting on the workbench like you were going to harvest it, then you cancelled out of the harvesting menu. That first sack you picked up and harvested from the menu, which is why it stayed. i agree it's a bug, but it doesn't seem to happen when you pick up the sack first then harvest from the inventory menu.
In Forlorn Muskeg, near the forge there is a bunker that has a bed in it, this is a good fall back emergency place.
4:42 you didn't pick it up first, so after leaving harvest screen that bug is launched
Also, if you happen to go back to the Convenient Store, there's a bag of Beef Jerky on the peg board wall a little high.
The meat is trying to flee from you.
I admit, I haven't played TLD in quite awhile, but I wonder if you're only getting the 0.2kg instead of 0.3kg due to hand harvesting. You know, similar to losing some of the calories from canned food due to opening cans without an opener.
