500 Days in The Long Dark - Part 28

- After surviving The Long Dark for 500 Days on Stalker mode...it's time to try the same on Interloper. There will be no firearms, looted hatchets or knives. We must make our own defenses and tools in order to survive this self-imposed challenge. It's time to see if we achieve victory or die a horrible death like everyone else on Great Bear Island.

The Long Dark Interloper is the hardest mode in Sandbox mode (The other difficulties are Pilgrim, Voyager and Stalker). The game describes that this mode is "For expert players looking for the ultimate wilderness Survival challenge."
In The Long Dark Interloper difficulty, you start with the most minimal resources, supplies are very scarce and Wildlife is rare, but it is more dangerous
- Interloper was a new game difficulty, introduced in v.364.
- The world becomes more hostile to you as you play. Global temperature drops, wildlife and fuel resources become more scarce, and Blizzards become more frequent.
- Apart from the Hacksaw and Hammer, which spawn rarely in the world, you need to create all your own improvised tools (ex. Hatchets, Knives, etc.).
- The best Clothing and Food items do not spawn.
- Wolves are more rare, but also more deadly.
- Wildlife becomes more rare over time.
- There are no firearms in the world.

Oh, uh just so you know, because i forgot if you have or not, scurvy is off by default if you started your run before the update. if you started this series after the update then scurvy is active. The Devs did not want it enabled after the update on games that were previously created before the update in the rare case their game is deprived of sources of vitamin C because of long term survival.

Oh nice! I’m from Toledo. In Cincinnati now but I sell / work on boilers and similar equipment up to about Piqua. Just did maintenance on the pool heater at the Tippecanoe Aquatic Center lol. Anyway It was just crazy to hear that in the middle of watching you cook moldy bear meat😂

As I said before the lack of health loss when harvesting is a known bug and will surely be fixed!
You might want to watch the Vitamin C scurvy thing especially as you have parisites as this is a new thing and it might just bite you in the (CENSORED)?
Probably Rose Hips to counter that just off the top of my head??
@@Accurize2 Actually big fish are the best source of Vitamin C.
Thing is if you live long enough the only sources of Vitamin C that will be left are fish and birch bark tea.

I wonder how close to real life the game Devs are trying to make this game? I'm just curios to know if the bear meat were cooked at 170 Degrees C would it kill the parasite?
It should kill it but maybe some eggs or larva could remain
