I agree 100% on labeling even obvious areas. It really does help your brain relax and takes away the excuse for others in the family of not putting things back where they go, or asking you where things are. Also, your idea of using one colored laundry basket for each member of the family and doing all their laundry at the same time is genius!
@@tinaburgard7814I guess you can always put them in the basket together, doesn’t mean you have to wash them together. You can always sort them out when you’re loading your washer
I would put putty balls of museum putty. On the bottom of those under the sink drawers that stack on top of each other. It will hold the bottom drawers in place and not slide or move around. Thus, all those pieces can be used everyday and not have to be re- adjusted everyday.. it is removable also. So the sky is the limit to getting creative. Good luck to all you and your family. 😊 love your channel
Or a small wood board from the back wall to the back of the organization box to prevent sliding backwards (just lay the board down). But the putty will also prevent side-to-side sliding. Nice idea.
I'm a Montessori teacher and parenting coach, raised 5 children... And I supported parents accused of abuse or neglect. I really appreciate what you do! I'm having a problem with cleaners under your sink. Due to some of my experiences... Let me say PLEASE store toxins, medicine, alcohol etc up HIGH and LOCKED. I got it your meds are locked. Not just when you have young ones because teens might get into your meds or alcohol. If you have one with ADHD they lack self-control. Seriously, parents are charged with neglect. I believe in preventing problems!
We recently re-did our pantry and it is so wonderful and satisfying to have great organization there. It really changed the whole vibe of the house. We even took before and after pictures🥰
Labels are great so that others, such as hubby or visiting relative can easily find items. Thank you for sharing these storage hacks. I've been a big fan of your for years now.
You're going to want to put your nail polish and remover upright. I've learned the hard way that those two items leak at unpredictable moments no matter how well you secure the lids.
I would love to see a video of all the inserts for the Kallax units you've tried so far. I'm thinking of buying a Kallax unit to be as a room devider to my kitchen and living room area and it would be great to know more about all the storage solutions for it! Huge congrats for the new baby and greetings from Finland! ❤
GENIUS! A laundry basket for each person, wash load, return clothes to their own basket... kids put away their own clothes!! no folding. I LOVE IT! Makes SO much sense! I wish someone would have put that bug in my ear when I had youngies at home. Congrats on soon coming babe!
Doing laundry by person is so smart and saves so much time. I never fold clothes either. Bins are the way to go. LOVE Kallax systems--they are so versatile. Hope all goes well with baby #4. You are inspirational, amazing and I love your channel.
I am due with my 3rd next week and will be looking forward to how you have been preparing! I have also been preparing/nesting completely different than baby #1. Thank you for always nudging me to be a productive mama!! 🙏🙌🙌
I cant believe i never thought of this laundry foe each person. Complete game changer, there is 5 of us and this has made laundry so quick and easy. Thank you. Best of luck with baby 4 ❤
I must say you made me feel so much better about not folding my clothes. I hate folding clothes but I throw my clothes in bins according to its category. Thanks for sharing this!
Wonderful advice!! I put things in places for “safe keeping”. Then promptly forget about it. It’s so safe even I can’t find it!!! Actually this labeling is exactly what I need to do. I love using clear storage pieces and stackables too. I need more of them. Haha
Dollartree has some great silicone drawer bins that we use for the kitchen. Easy to keep cleep and are soft and work in most spaces. Could work out great for your toothbrush drawer.
Great tips. I only have a medicine cabinet in my bathroom & loo, so only keep every day items in there. I put extra loo rolls either on top of the cabinet or inside it.
First off, you look beautiful! This video helped me a ton! I also noticed you’re using the dashing divas nail thingys. Aren’t they great? To keep the drawers under the sink from sliding, I recommend double sided tape 😊
I have used Ecos as well, and still have some, but 7th Generation makes a one squirt detergent that comes in a vastly smaller bottle. I get it from Grove. I also make my own sometimes
Thank you for this; I got some good ideas. I need to look up the stacking drawers and "layer" bins that allow you to have the most used items on top of deep drawers. I had to laugh at myself, because I cringe at laying bottles on their sides, so especially the nail polish and remover, I was like, "won't that fit in the drawer standing up?" Also, YES!! Thank you for extolling the virtues of doing laundry by PERSON! I found this was easiest, and it just makes so much sense. I have to fold the clothes, though. It's okay - I actually have always enjoyed folding laundry. I also put the clothes in the drawer so that everything is visible, and I have done this since I was a child. I noticed it did help my children also. They could find things without pulling other stuff out. Congratulations on your new baby on the way!
I just found your channel and love it! I do wish you’d slow down a bit because your pace exhausts me and I just need to turn it off and chill. I’m in my 60s and have slowed down a bit so that might be the problem! I wish I knew what you share when I had three kids 5 and under!
One of the best things I ever bought was a little 16 by 16cm 3 drawer acrylic cube which sits on the table by my bed. In it I store little things like phone batteries, headphones (I'm old), paracetamol packets, my magnifying glass, and vape liquids (although I don't think I'll be vaping anymore but I'll hang on to them for now.) Just makes my world a lot tidier and more efficient.
My best bathroom hack - purging 95% of my stuff. That said, your makeup always looks lovely and I probably look half done. Congrats on baby #4!!! My #3 is one on Sunday and after 4 years of back to back pregnancies we are 99% done.
omg i really like that idea of the pull out drawers in the cube storage thing. Do you know if that will work in a non ikea one? I have a 9 drawer storage cube that I use as my dresser and I think that 2 pull out concept would be grate for a few things...
You might like the bamboo round makeup remover pads from Amazon. There are so many to choose from, but I like the black ones that have a bamboo holder and the little laundry bag. I just rinse them with a little soap after use and place them in their laundry bag and toss it in with the towels every week to wash. I'll never go back to those cheap cotton rounds again. 😁
Omg, those little boxes you don’t like…I have those out some version and I freaking love them! I have hair ponytail holders in one, Bobby pins in another, etc and they stack so nice! Maybe we have different brands.
Not to be critical but as as someone in the dental field it would be best if your toothbrushes weren’t stacked and touching. They are best if separated so as not to spread germs and also to dry out completely between uses. As they are now if one child is sick, they are all sick. Just trying to helpful not critical .
I agree. I always had covers on ours. My 2 children shared a bathroom, and my husband and I shared one. I now use 2 toothbrushes - one in the am and one in the pm. I don't know if they really work, but I let them dry and put them in toothbrush sanitizers as my bathroom is tiny, and the sink is next to the toilet. I keep the lid down, but I am a bit of a germaphobe.
I was pregnant or postpartum from 2008-2014, five kids. I didn’t start sleeping through the night until 5 years ago. It’s always something. Even now, about once a week one of my children will wake me up in the middle of night for one reason or another. I’m permanently exhausted since 2008. 🤣
Wish I had this laundry hacks when I was in my “young kids” years. I used to fold all the clothes, put them on the teenagers beds and they would just crawl in bed and the clothes would end up on the floor mixed in with the rest of the mess. 😂
I gave up having laundry baskets in or near the bedrooms. We tried it for awhile but the baskets kept piling up so high or bursting out the side because they shoved way too much in them. We just keep the one basket in the bathroom and are expected to bring dirty clothes downstairs to it every morning.
Just a safety concern - little ones and having cleaners, chemicals, etc. so accessible. Perhaps safety measures should also be considered for those storage areas.❤
So on the one hamper per person thing... I live on a farm, and I just cannot make myself OK with the washing of everything together for one person. The kids often get chicken poop on them, or have excessive dirt on their work/outside play clothes. I cannot see washing pajamas with filthy, chicken pooped jeans! Does anyone who uses the one hamper per person system have experience with this?
Yes. My bathroom drawers are awkwardly deep too! And also not deep enough for some standup things. I have two in the kitchen too. What do I do with those deep drawers in the kitchen?!
In my deep drawers, I have glass Pyrex measuring cups, pint, and quart. Also, since they're next to the fridge, I have saran wrap, foil, parchment paper, sandwich bags, quart bags etc. Another one has Tupperware-type food storage containers.
People always put cleaners under the sink, but cleaners should be UP or in a locked space. Cleaners being stored under the sink leads to a lot of poisonings. I love the lock boxes for medicines. 100% agree with not folding kids clothes. Letting them have the autonomy to take care of and choose their own clothes at an age appropriate level leads to confident independent children that grow up to be well adjusted adults 😊
All of our children are grown and flown. So it is just my husband and me, so you would think labeling is not necessary but you would be wrong. I am 60 and he is almost 70. Plus he is a man. 😅 I labeled our kitchen out the wazoo and it makes it easier to find for him because we moved a year ago and it actually made it easier for both of us in the beginning, so I have kept the labels. I'm also thinking of out short term memory as well as we get older. Labeling and lists help me and I'm only 60. My craft room is a must for labeling. I have a large room and I do several different crafts, so I can see the labels and know exactly where everything is at, theoretical. 😉
Baby 4 is a girl?! Congratulations and wishing you a smooth labor and delivery, and a very healthy and happy baby ❤
So.. you work, you have 3 kids, one on the way and you're extremely organized... what kind of sorcery is this?!?!
I'm impressed!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
They go to childcare so that helps!
@cheriehartmann9173 omg yes that's helpful. Phew!
Concur. I need that magic in my home.

In case I haven't said it before, separating laundry by person is the best thing I learned from you. Thank you!!!!
So you don't separate lights from darks?
@tinaburgard7814 only if there is something likely to bleed (like newer dark denim with a white t-shirt...yes, I learned that lesson the hard way lol)
@@tinaburgard7814I guess you can always put them in the basket together, doesn’t mean you have to wash them together. You can always sort them out when you’re loading your washer
Congratulations, I'm a mom of 4 all are grown. I'm very thankful having them.

Agree!!!
You have such good organization ideas- thank you.
I hope you do a house tour.
Just updated the bathroom and will put many of your tips to use. Thankyou for sharing.
I am so happy you are going to have another child!! I could only have one, but how blessed you are!
Congratulations on your new home and new baby ! Such a blessing. We have three and I’m so grateful.
Love seeing your organisation systems. Always realistic and affordable. Can’t wait to see the next phase of your motherhood journey. ❤
Having a place for everything is such a time saver.
Congratulations on expanding your family. Thanks for sharing these tips!
We recently re-did our pantry and it is so wonderful and satisfying to have great organization there. It really changed the whole vibe of the house. We even took before and after pictures🥰

Love the organization and the labels. I don’t need labels, but do so for my husband so he knows where to look for items and put away. 😊
Your husband puts things away? Did you cast a spell over him? Lol😊

Labeling = yes. Especially for the garage!
I remember being pregnant around this time last year with a girl and had her on September 19 such a blessing !
Congratulations !!!
Ecos has laundry detergent sheets! I found them on Amazon. No more big jugs of laundry detergent. They work great!
Love that makeup bag that opens all the way! I've checked your Amazon storefront but didn't see it, could you please link to it? Thanks!

Oh my goodness I couldn't deal with that tiny mirror. LOL What a strange choice (by the builder or previous owner) over a nice sized vanity!

ECOS has laundry sheets at target!!! Much easier to contain!!
I would love to know which label maker you use thar makes such big ones!
Hilarious! I organized my laundry room yesterday and the only thing that would not fit anywhere was that jug of ecos detergent 😂😂😂

You didn’t mention that the sink organization cost you about $130.😮. And what about the lost space behind the draws?
It is good to store the extra things on their side until they leak like they tend to do after a while.
Good luck with your new house and baby 4
Where did you get that large digital clock that you have in the playroom? TIA
You are the most beautiful pregnant Mama!
Just a safety concern - little ones and having cleaners, chemicals, etc. so accessible. Perhaps safety measures should also be considered for those storage areas.❤
I came here to say just that. You beat me to it.
Don’t you think with 3 kids she’s probably got that covered?🤔
The nail polish remover...
So on the one hamper per person thing... I live on a farm, and I just cannot make myself OK with the washing of everything together for one person. Yes. My bathroom drawers are awkwardly deep too! And also not deep enough for some standup things. I have two in the kitchen too. What do I do with those deep drawers in the kitchen?!
The deep kitchen drawers in my house are for plastic/glass (tupperware) and tea towels
In my deep drawers, I have glass Pyrex measuring cups, pint, and quart. Also, since they're next to the fridge, I have saran wrap, foil, parchment paper, sandwich bags, quart bags etc. Another one has Tupperware-type food storage containers.
I always thought deep drawers are for Mixmaster, toaster, hand blender, crock pots, soup pots and big deep mixing bowls.
I keep pots and larger utensils in mine
I have the opposite problem with my utensils drawer. It's too shallow. 😖
Museum glue to secure those acrylic drawers 😮
People always put cleaners under the sink, but cleaners should be UP or in a locked space. Cleaners being stored under the sink leads to a lot of poisonings. I love the lock boxes for medicines. 100% agree with not folding kids clothes. Dear Kallie, I love you and your content. I’ve noticed a more maniacal glint in your thumbnail smile. Is everything ok?! ❤
How do you keep the under cabinet drawers from moving back every time you close a drawer? I find that so annoying
It's great that you keep the medications away from the little ones. Why do you keep the cleaners where they can get at them?
