@@aaronbarber6238 indeed I would say more but ima get mad lol just know I use it all hell I'll loop a sample add drums and if that's all it needs that's all it gets

Only watched a few of your videos before. But good lord you are so good at noticing, describing, and addressing all these little inhibitions us artists face. Ty dude
I honestly dont understand why I came across these videos exactly when I needed them. Ive been making music for almost 4 years now and Ive always frowned upon producers who make use of loops because I made all my melodies from scratch. Just yesterday I decided to start using loops/ samples and to start collaborating with other producers In order to make more music and to continue enjoying music again. I even shaved my head bald to represent the beginning of this new chapter. After making 2 Bangers using loops this morning, I came on youtube after lunch and saw that God put Curtis King in my life for a reason. Your work is more impactful than you'd ever know, thank you very much my brother. Love, from South Africa - NB my name isnt South Africa, Im just shouting out my country to show how far your lessons reach
I feel this!! Ive made some dope beats from scratch but messing with loops has helped dramatically. It definitely builds confidents ! Thank you for this vid!
The scientist be hitting hard when you already exported and laying down listening to the beat you just made and notice flaws in it 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️. Shit make you stop whatever you doing to get back to the computer.
Bro im so glad i subbed. i went through the same block for like 2 years but had the same epiphany that i wasn't having fun any more so now I dont even produce longer then 20 mins if my energy isn't there and now every time I finish a project/song its all flame! my scientist works for me not the other way around now. thanks for the content bruv!
Same man. I was anti-sampling for years. Mainly because I felt others had that style down (No ID, Premo, Just Blaze, Kanye, etc.). As a keyboard player, I would just say I could come up with my own ideas. Over the last 2 years, most of the stuff I've made has been sample-based (even go Timbaland to give one of my sample tracks his stamp of approval a few weeks ago). Definitely need that balance of artist and scientist. 10 minute beat challenge is a dope concept (Ken Lewis, multi-platinum/gold selling audio engineer and producer, actually does what he calls a "Sprint Mix" where he mixes entire songs in 10 minutes).
So true! It's hard to get it in the moment. Making a beat In 10 minutes may not have the quality, but it does have the pivotal potential and humbleness that is needed to make fire🔥
Aye I used to be the same way about loops, but I stopped that years ago. I go from loops to chopping samples to chord engines and playing by ear. All about actually producing. And no lie that 10 minute challenge done right helps.
i've been aware of my issue of being the scientist more than the artist for a while but i haven't found a way to fix it yet, this kind of video is rly helpful.
I subbed bro, this was probably the best advice I've heard. Love the words you speak, very educated.. fam, From queens new york, we throwing you blessings.
Thank you for your tips and tricks they make sense if we have to evolve and understand how music is made now and keep our old type of workflow learn how to get yourself involved with new things in all things mixed them up incorporate them
Thank you very much Curtiss. This is helping more producers than you know (an more that wont admit it. Seems like you found your niche! Thats gotta be hella exciting. Great video brotha.
Damn bro this video really hit home for me. So many times I'll stop a beat to youtube some tutorials to apply to the mix instead of just going with the flow. As for loops, it don't matter how you start the beat. Hip Hop was built off of sampling and many other genres been incorporating sampling.
Bro I’m not in the FL gang but these videos got me wanting to sign up even tho I’m using a different platform. The truth that your sharing resonates with any producer that is willing to be honest with themselves! That 10min best challenge is dope by the way! Took my MPC Live with me to pick up my daughter and it takes her 10min-15mins to get to the car. Cooked up and was just vibing in artist mode for that wait time. Got home put it on the speakers and was presently surprised!!! Added another sound with some countermelodies and had a banger!

You are so on point in this video. Nothing wrong with using loops sometimes. It's the same difference as when you sample a record and you grab a loop or drum loop from that particular song. Just in a different format. I will just go with the flow instead of trying to be Mr. Perfect. Lol.
