I use it to charge my cell phone and E-bike battery while riding. It always keeps my E-Bike battery topped off and extends my riding range. Also when I stop during my ride to have lunch, I can plug the Bluetti EB3A into the wall outlet as I eat and it will charge up fast.
I was wondering if it would charge a e bike. I've been considering an ebike in the near future
@@timetoxplore I would get an E bike now trust me you will love it
Smart !
How does it charge your bike as you ride it?
@@essbee3720you know how many 12v devices like fridges have access to the battery while using it? Same concept. I believe this station is small enough to store in bikes baggage with long cord while riding.
I recently used my Bluetti EB3A & AC70 last weekend so me & my nephew can watch movies & play video games on a TV monitor & PS5. I also used them to charge my Bluetooth speakers & other random devices. We kept both power sources charged with solar panels & the campsites power outlet (we rented an RV campsite with electric & water access) & they lasted all weekend ✌🏾
I'm out along the shore with mine charging my camera gear today....love how portable they are.
@@timetoxplore I have the Canon 1D X M3 & the 5D & it takes forever to recharge the batteries. Especially when I’m taking long exposures/time lapses over 30 mins to an hour
@Fotosynthesis858 I have the Canon T7 with 3 batteries, 1Canon , and a 2 battery charger unit that runs off USB(Artman brand) THE Canon battery takes around 2 hours while the other brand is around and hour.
This power box is okay. Only thing I don't like is the inverter pulls to much power for a 600 watt inverter. I have a 1000 watt pulls way less power. Maybe it's just mine. I have used it with a extension battery an its a lot better. Maybe it's because battery is so small in these.
I don't have any large power draws besides my 12v fridge and I can run aĺl weekend with the aux 12v battery/drive to charge and solar input for an average weekend out in the woods.
This is helpful. I just ordered a refurbished one and am getting it in a week or so from ebay. More than sufficient for my needs I think. I'll come back to this when I get it. Thanks!
Fantastic, I'm glad you found the video helpful. They are handy units to have. I've got two, and they are perfect for keeping my camera gear charged up and my 12v fridge running. I've only had one issue where it wouldn't take a charge from wall socket...charged it via 12v car adapter once, and it's been fine ever since.
I just ordered a refurbished from eBay too. $135 tough to beat if it still works.
@@j-sonS mine has been splendid.
This was an excellent presentation. My EB3A arrived today. This review taught me everything I needed to know regarding how to use it.
Glad it was helpful!
I admit, I skipped around your video a bit. Did you address why your AC outlets have actual ground plugs and not just a general recess?
never bothered, figured they work and give power , so i'll just keep using it
@@timetoxplore it seems they changed the design. I just received mine a couple of days ago and they too have ground plugs instead of just holes.
I’ve been meaning to see if they actually work as a ground when in UPS mode. Going to check for continuity later today
Cani u use it with the panel and plug in at same time?
As in solar and wall plug...yes you can charge with the DC and AC plug simultaneously
Boss when we’re on road what’s best place we can use ac charger… I get we can go into a Starbucks but are there any that we can use from outside for free?
I know some parking lots have outlets on the light posts...but getting power might be cause for security to ask you to leave. The Bluetti has pass-through charging so you can charge via 12 v socket...solar panel as you drive and still use the unit while it charges.
I used mine for the first time camping to charge to iPhones and an iwatch. None of them were below 60%. The battery went from 100% to 20%. I feel I did something wrong. Seemed to use a lot of charge
I have had that happen once with my 1st one...I typically charge mine the night before I go out and my omly other issue was it wasn't taking a charge from wall outlet...I plugged it into my 12v socket and it took a charge. And hasn't jad any issues since.
Can you hookup a external battery to this to double/triple the 268wh?? I know you can do it with the bigger ones
No I use solar and/or an auxiliary battery to charge while I use it to power my 12v fridge.
There are UA-cam videos showing how to use a suitable battery to extend the EB3A capacity. I think one way was to us ebike battery packs!
Yep. If you are getting 12v from the vehicle, you can get 12v from a 12 back up.
There are dc to dc devices ($30-50) that will pump up the watts and then you hook up xt60i adapter to increase the wattage, as if you were using solar panel max wattage.
what is the use of the circuit protector button?
Aims to protect your device from damage caused by overcurrent or short circuits.
Bluetti EB3A is a good product but have a major problem : Charging from solar panel.
On the official forum website, this is one of the main user's topic
Don't expect to charge with low light
When I need to use the solar I plug in while driving or parked in direct sun...like every solar panel it will work best in direct and full sun. Its n ot a problem with the item your trying to charge but a problem with the location your charging. I've pulled the Explorer ahead at campsite to get full sun for charging.
@@timetoxplore There is a solution to charge under low light : Add a capacitor on the cable. This way, the input indicator stop blinking and the EB3A can charge even if the light is low. With this trick, i can charge from 6:30am to 6:30pm
@@BlueThailand interesting I'll have to look it up.
phone settings?
For my Samsung S20, I had to go in and toggle off “Fast Wireless Charging” which can be found under Settings > Battery And Device Care>Battery > More Battery Settings > Fast Charging
Would this run a 30 quart fridge with a 200 watt solar panel?
I run an Alpicool 50L fridge with no problems I draw around 60w while it initially cools down. I believe it is only rated for a 100 or 120w solar panel for charging. I use a 100w that charges an auxiliary battery and use that to charge and run my fridge at the same time. I can also plug directly into the 100w panel to charge. Also I have just used the 100W solar to run the fridge while I rewire/relocate the aux battery. The solar panel runs it without any issuse..I do charge it to 100% before plugging the fridge into it.
The EB3A takes a 200 W charge, I use a 200W Bluetti portable panel.
Your comment absolutely convinces me I got a Bluetti EB3A dud. UPS probably tossed it around before we received it because it's got psych issues. 🤣
I tent camp & just purchased a dometic 45 cooler how long will this run the cooler before it needs to be charged on a 4 day camping trip
@@LuAnnRunckif you have solar panels and full sun you might make it. I don’t see how this goes for 4 days with no charge.
I think I would be nervous if I want to run a 800 watt power station for 2 days with no charge
Can I use this for daily use using solar panel as source of energy to save electricity? Thank you
I "daisy chain" mine so I use 100w solar to charge and run my 12v fridge at the same time. No issues so far.
Huge waste of money. Actual useable Watts. About 240 ! Real life usage. What would you want to leave on for 7 hrs? A 500W heater. This Bluetti will not power it but for 1.75 hrs tops. What about a TV for 6hrs? Hmmm? Then you must recharge it. Waste of money.
Look at it this way.
Nobody's talking about this low Watt available over the long haul for the nite or day.
240W ÷ 7 hrs = 34 W useable per hr before it's empty.
Nobody's talking about this talking point.
Bluetti tells it. And you can see it on the website before you buy: A mini fridge (60 W) 3,6 h, So you must know were you will use it for. For me it is for outside use. At home I have 6000Wp PV panels (+ batteries) so I don't need the EB3A at home.. If you will have a mobile solar generator usable at home then the Bluetti AC200max is better than the EB3A. Expandable from 2048Wh to 8192Wh.
you can easily add a 12v 100amp hour battery to this capacity all you need is a 17 dollar 12v to 24v step up converter and a few wire connections ...that capacity can expand as much as you need
I use mine to run my CPap thru because of pass thru charging . Every time my power goes off my CPap never misses a beat . Well worth 219 dollars not to get woke up in a power outage. So in my case it’s worth every penny
@@Camp_Runamuck I charge mine by solar and use it for my CPAP. One charge is good for one night. I also have a 100ah LifePo4 battery that I charge with solar and use to charge the bluetti on cloudy days. The 100ah LifePo4 is good for another 5 days. So I can go 6 days with my set-up, and indefinitely with solar. A comparable set-up with an "official" battery back-up is $800 and is only rechargable via AC/Grid. The Bluetti and LifePo4 battery setup was less than $600 and has more uses and more recharge options.
@@mekon1971 I run my CPap on 12 volt and get 2 nights with my EB3A . When I’m home I keep it plugged into the wall and still run my CPap on 12 volt if power goes off my CPap never misses a beat .. my Bluetti EB70A runs my CPap 6 or 7 nights on 12 volt
