- "On The Road Again"- performed by Peter Madcat Ruth's C.A.R.Ma. Quartet. Recorded live at the Ark in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, on November 6, 2022.
John Churchville - tabla/drum set
Brennan Andes - electric fretless bass
Dan Ripke - electric guitar
Peter Madcat Ruth - harmonica and vocals
"On the Road Again" by the American blues-rock group, Canned Heat, was first released in 1968. The tambura (tanpura) drone and the tablas give this a meditative, Indian music flavor. Madcat was definitely influenced by Alan Wilson who played harmonica on the original recording.
This video was recorded by Cory Robinson.
The audio track was recorded by Joe Giese, and remixed by John Churchville.

We hope you enjoy this music.
Oh ?? The sound of my youth ... now I am over 70 year's old and wonder why my beloved father wouldn't allow me to watch T.O.T.Pops on TV . Anyone else tried to listen to Radio Caroline on a tiny radio which never worked much ?
Transandental. It took me away for a moment or two.❤
Fantastic
Whao...excelente vercion!
Great band and some crazy good harmonica! The blues with tabla grooves is really cool.
Fantastic! I wish I could have been at this show. What a great band!

kick it, here we go boys
Superb
So wonderful !! You guys ROCK !!!! Mind telling us what two harps you were using ?
The song is in the key of Em. For the first 40 seconds I was playing a G harp in 4th position. Then I switched to a modified A harmonica that had the 6 draw note tuned up a half step, (from F# to G).
@@petermadcatruth wow !! Thanks so much !
A Hohner Blues harmonica in the key of A (for playing in E) is my guess ..............
I used a Seydel Noble harmonica in the key of A with the 6 draw tuned up a half step.

Hey Madcat what’s that mic on your finger?
Hello Bob- It is a one-of-a-kind microphone. It is patterned after a Shaker-Madcat microphone, but it is a bit larger. The body was made on a 3-D printer. The microphone element inside is a "Heumann Element” purchased from Greg Heumann, BlowsMeAway Productions. It is the same element which is inside his Bulletini and Rackit! 2.0 harmonica microphones.
@@petermadcatruth Well now…that’s pretty cool. Did you make the body? If so, that puts you in a category by yourself. I mean, it’s not as if you’re one of the finest players on the planet, but you learned how to use a 3-D printer!! Greg is a gem of a human. He built a mic for me some time ago. It’s made of wood from Africa and is one of his crystal mics. It’s light and sounds amazing. Your mic also appears to be wireless, to boot.
Thanks for the reply. Hope all is well and enjoy the Holidays.
