Thank God For You🙏
Blessings from Glasgow 🏴
Multi instrumentalist... really into nature and the environment. Way ahead of his time.
Keep Alan Wilson alive thru media. I can't get enough!!!! Diane
Really my musical hero. Saw him in 1968, still the best.
STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL .......HAUNTING
What a player he was.
Beautiful.
Saw them on the 1970 tour (I was 13 years old), went backstage for an Interview, Fito took me under his wings while Jim beam bottles and joints were going around. Live in Europe '70 is still one of my favorite albums. The Owl AND Harvey Mandel !!
Alan was from a different time. A different place. I know he stayed there while on this surle earth and now he's there. Being a master of his craft, was only secondary to what he was about. Here he gives us a glimpse into his MIND and for me, he will always be here or there.
I hope his beautiful gentle soul is surrounded by giant redwoods and forest
I believe he is 🌲🛶
Half a century since you’ve left us man. I’m still here representing you Alan.
A rare musician who could play and honor the classics of his genre. Yet he was expanding his version of the blues.
✌️The Few The Proud...The Blue 💙🔥🎶
With a youtube comment? Right on.
@@xzysyndrome I tell people about him all the time and try to introduce them to him. And I try and visit his hill either on his birthday or death day. You don’t know me or what I do. Keep your snarky remarks to yourself thank you
@@luisherrera2193 I'm with you. Some people are compelled to be jerks. They're their own worst enemies.
Alan was going places musically ...
It was definitely I him ... like a Cobain and Thom Yorke ... Being a part of Canned was a blessing and a curse. Heat may have stifled his opportunities to record different innovations that may have been floated around in him. A prodigy for sure. His voice ... amazing. His feel ... deep and intriguing.
It's his FEEL. U r right. Jeff Buckley Had the same thing. They both loved the drone. Open strings ringing out
@@baliscotsurf love Buckley
I think you’re right. His songs Time Was, My Time Ain’t Long and Get Off My Back are about the band-Bob Hite in particular. From what I’ve read there was a lot of issues with the musical direction of the band and the constant touring and a lot of his depression was in regards to the band. I don’t think he wanted the band to break up but he didn’t seem to have someone to give him support in that area. Just sad because he was an incredible talent but from all accounts a really nice person.
@@kmg3733 A Legend undeniable...
Comparing him to Cobain is an insult.
the owl was and still is impressive.
The Blind Owl🥸
😎amazing piece of Harmony with ones self ☮
Haunting
Happy Birthday Alan. I'm sorry I couldn't be there this year, things just got so fucked up. Time was...
This was Great..never heard it before..This will be in my favorites
This is awesome! First time hearing it. It stands alone as a great composition in the jazz style. Or it could also work as an extended intro to “On The Road Again.” Alan was such a unique and talented dude.
The juxtaposition of the freedom of childhood and the innocence being diminished by the impending drone of maturity and the sense of loss is musically, perfection, expression 🙏👌
This is amazing. It's genius.
Forever 27 next month he'll be 80
Aspire to play this and reach the stars. Tears of joy. Who does this now? Love & Peace.
My spirit is raised with this man who channelled this sublime vibration 🙏
temple music with an Angel
Precisely! ❤️☯️🕯️☮️❤️
what a piece!
Makes me wanna get a tambura drone and a harp. God bless Alan Wilson
Just great. The two things down, are obviously not musicians.
There are no words
Wow this is ethereal and a stunningly beautiful way of playing harmonica. Timeless and gorgeous. Nature’s enchanted voices
Haunting.
So gail!! Erinnert ein bisschen an "Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod" . Ist auf jeden Fall sehr berührend 😔🥺
Es la música de la desolación...y es hermosa igual 😢
Wow, this is great. Never heard of him. Thanks.
Alan sure was a genius. Passed by far too soon! "Such a tragedy"!
Part of the multi-movement "Parthenogenesis" from the Living The Blues album. Listen to the whole thing for more great harp in other movements.
Ce passage me donne toujours autant de frissons. Étrange atmosphère. superbe !
RIP alan
Beautiful...
RIP my Autistic brother.
❤
There’s no proof he was autistic. Not that that would be a negative. It’s just that there was not a diagnosis and from what I’ve read-his family who lived with him does not say he was.
Wow
One of the giants and my favorite. Modest guy!
Pretty owl sits atop the great tall redwoods
wow what a mindblower
The man was the blues alone, on that track he is 20 years ahead of his time
or 50 years behind.....
Ein wahrlich Meister.
For me best mouth harp ever.
I love it
Forever Rest in Peace Blind🦉🌠🌍Owl
Amazing.
Am a be this kid age in February 27 rest in peace
Hihetetlen mennyire szép!
Awesome
Sounds similar to Zep's 'In the Light'. Such a shame that his own mind took him out. Al,you are missed.
maybe it didnt like most of the 27 club
There’s no evidence that he killed himself.
Forever ( Alan Blond Owl Wilson ) ⛩️🦉🙏
Aaaaaagh ffs fantastic stuff .....
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That was beautiful!! Thank you for the talent and the share...
Maravilloso....!!!!
Gênio.

Haunting
Works well for an old man’s end.
Mystico genio
It was fashion back those times any band get their Indian hit. Even canned heat got very nice one
ACHO SUPER LINDO..
Blind Owl was never given his just due.
wow-eeeee
ARMONICA E BLUES NEL SANGUE...IN PERFETTA SIMBIOSI CON IL SUO STRUMENTO...CORPO UNICO. MOSÈ 70 FERRARA.
Fuckin awesome
I wonder if this recording pre-dated "In the Light" by Led Zeppelin. They both sound like eerily similar intros.
killer
🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Almost could of been a lead to to on the road agsin
i always thought alan was held back by the canned heat. like he was capable of so much more that never was unveiled. you could spot it here and there, though... london blues comes to mind
Agreed
Agreed. I wish they would have looked for him earlier that day-might have saved him. I also wished that they wouldn’t have pressured him to tour so much-give him a break to rest.
I thought this track was titled Chromatic Raga? At least it appears under this title elsewhere on UA-cam. The drone is a bit more intense.
It's a section from Parthenogenisis. This movement is called Childhood's end but when it's uploaded onto UA-cam as a piece in itself it's sometimes just called Harmonica Raga, which is what it is.
27
Alan también pertenece al club de los 27
Jason Ricci brought me here
Heavy man.
Im so "HEAVY I SAG WHEN I WALK"
This man was beautiful, wished I'd known him!! 💝

❤️🌚🌲🦉
Find the leaves? Yup
Is this the retuned harmonica he took apart and rearranged?
Baram Blackett could not be reached for comment.
Almost Vangelis…
Is Alan Wilson playing the instruments
Alan Wilson. Beautiful playing. This kind of resembles a track from Zeppelins Physical graffiti. It has the same sustained notes! Only there’s a prominent guitar on Zeps track.
But the beginning is very similar to this song. The Inner Light is what it’s called.
RIP Alan Wilson-Yet another Casualty to Suicide
wrong...suicide, not drugs
Secanol and the stars!!!
It's "in the light"
@@cruzcontrol1504 It wasn’t a suicide. Accidental overdose. He did have depression issues, but he didn’t commit suicide.
@@cruzcontrol1504
Accidental overdose. He had Depression which is par for the course of Autism but he had too much left that he really wanted to do .
DAMN auto correct. . That was supposed to be: The two thumbs down are obviously not musicians . ..
SOME KIDS THINK IT'S OUTDATED, KAREN.
I'm deriving profit share lots.
Is that drone coming from a tambura?
Yes, Alan Wilson is also playing that.
Chromatic hes playing
Chromatic harmonica
Is he playing a CRONOMATIC? and what Key? I'm guessing A ??????
Up and down vote? So what key and was it a CHRONOMATIC? Thanks
I was thinking it's in C diatonic , not sure what position tho.
@@thechessclub8527 Thank you much
any luck finding key and/or position?
The Blind Owl is said to have disassembled harmonicas to tweak them then reassemble & play. Nobody will ever achieve the sounds of The Blind Owl!
Aaaagh
Came to watch in the off chance this was a Pink floyd cover.... :0
Sound like a chromatic
I felt that the fat guy in Canned Heat wasn't really very complementary to Alan and trying to upstage him.
Yeah and he was a bit of a bully to Alan-both in life and death.
Seems the 🐻 was maybe a tad envious and maybe a little jealous of the 🦉many talents and also the singer of the bands 2 biggest hits!! Alan was the heart+soul of C.H. !!! When Alan died so did C.H.!!!!!
I'm not saying that was definitely not true but, in these modern times, when so many "theories" are based on nothing but feelings, I would not be inclined to embrace that sort of speculation. We could, just as easily say that they were opposite, yet complementary natures. Canned Heat certainly produced some ground breaking, unique and amazing music, so I think the band members were supportive of each other.
Awesome. His harp periodically has the feel of all aboard by muddy waters
Wow
