    Hi Jay, you did an awesome job of explaining why I don't test for TDS....tells you a lot of stuff you don't need to know, and all that extra data just clouds the stuff that's important. The chemical tests for general hardness (GH) and carbonate hardness (KH) will tell you the important info you need. KH is, as it sounds the amount of carbonates dissolved in the water, which tells you how well your pH is going to buffer (so how stable the ph will remain) higher being more stable. GH is only important for sensitive softwater fish really. Just my opinion, like I tell everyone, find something that works and stick with it. Just explaining why I personally don't bother with it. Was still great information, don't get me wrong, you did a great job of listing the things that can influence TDS. Well done mate 👍
