Hello from Turkey to you too 🎉 It’s nice to hear that we’re on the top of the list, and thank you for all your kind words about Turkish people ❤ I’m so glad that I came across your podcast and became a premium listener . Thank you for all those wonderful episodes and the effort that you’ve put all throughout the year🙏 Peace & love ✌️
A favourite film of mine dated 1996 with the superb actress Brenda Blethyn directed by Mike Leigh is "Secrets and Lies", wonderful movie. And "Vera", a TV series that has been running until these days also with Brenda (each chapter is a unit). Thank you for the episode and the links!
As a Turkish listener who discovered this podcast this year, I would like to say I wish I had discovered it before. Luke, you've helped me a lot to make progress in English, even in one year. Thank you so much😊. - By the way, I'm still learning to write properly. Sorry about my grammar😅
once again you are my top podcast of the year! Luke a tip, in a conversation with a guest it would be interesting to let him talk more, conclude his stories and comments. thank you for your wonderful work!
It's no wonder Turkey is at the top of your list. We love sincere people and you are and seem extremely sincere! 😎 You're doing such a good job, man! 🤘🏻👍🏻
Actually, I am a non-native English speaker/user, and I really appreciate your videos because all the videos are really helpful for people studying English. Great job! Good luck! Take care!
I'm from Egypt and i graduate from faculty of education English department but I'm just a sales man . But i wanna say that your episode is the last chance to maintain my life i swear it's easy to suicide but i tranna be a tough cookie so don't stop please keep going
Hi Luke. I've discovered your podcast recently but 've been listening to it regularly since then. It's an amazing way to practice my English and I really appreciate your episodes. By the way, I'm writing from Italy, from the Dolomites.
If there’s something I’ve learned from this podcast is that our beloved teacher Luke is not only an amazing pedagogue but also a seasoned silver screen aficionado! It’s been surprising to discover that occult facet of yours, Luke! P.S.: me too, I really enjoy watching John Carpenter’s films 🎥!! Among the movies I recurrently watch are three of his, namely, “The Thing”, “Ghosts of Mars”, and “Big Trouble in Little China 🇨🇳”. But I like most, if not all, of his works.
hiii Luke I'm from indonesia, lately i watching your videos while i'm drawing or eating, I really enjoy all your video, thanks yaa, I use your video for practice understanding the story this channel will be always my fav for learn ... SEMANGAT POSTING VIDEO NYAA!
Indeed, the British are very good at period films. My favorite of all times is Jane Eyre from 2006 miniseries with Toby Stephens and Ruth Wilson. Stephens performance is so brilliant🤩, he nearly overshadows the actual character from Bronte's book.
Hi Luke, I would like to say that I am strong fan of your podcasts . To be honest from the time I got familiar with you , fortunately by chance searching on youtube, let me say I do not remember when the time was. however, after that I listened an hour to your audios or videos every single day of course averagely. Thanks a lot for this opportunity you give people to progress their second language including me.❤
Hi Luke. Nearly allí your podcast were excellent. As the podcast of blind persons, the birth of your son speaking with your wife, the camping with a bear, the taxi driver who escapes from the prison and so on. Thanks for your podcast. Have a good Christmas' days with your family. Cheer
edge of tomorrow with tom cruise is my favourite movie. the main actors are stucked in a time loop in this movie. nice podcast again - learned much about interesting movies. 😊
- This is an excellent film which, by the way, we discussed in episode 453 and previously mentioned in episode 123. A beautiful number. The episode about the beautiful numbers 555 touches on this topic. - Thank you for useful information! - All about gratitude in 340. sorry )
Hi Luke! Great subject, as usual. On the other hand, I’m at the 32nd minute of the episode and there are already 6 commercials. And I’m a regular on the podcast, but from time to time I listen on UA-cam and I know it’s not usual to have so many ads. I just wanted to let you know.
6 commercials?? That’s odd. It shouldn’t be that way. Must be a mistake. Edit: The settings were wrong (they were set to "automatic") but I have changed that now, and only one advert is included in the middle of the episode now.
@@sean-i9h Usually there’s one at the start, one in the middle and one at the end. This one was a mistake because I left the setting as “automatic” and UA-cam decided to put about 20 ads in the episode! I’ve fixed it now. Creators should be paid for their work, but obviously it’s very annoying to have so many ads.
@@LukesEnglishPodcast . I agree, creators should be paid. That's why in my opinion when the content is free, it's fair a bit of ads, like your episodes usually have. By the way, I think you fix it. It's been 15 mn without ads😉
@@LukesEnglishPodcastthanks for having fixed it! Not for the sake of bitching, but the first version was very annoying and disturbing (also because I use to listen to your episodes while driving, and keep tapping the screen to skip the ads could end up to be quite dangerous 😅)
❤ Here I am again. Thanks once again for your precious job for us learners. Glad to know a common bias towards Martin Scorsese and his serial actors De Niro, Di Caprio ( joe pesci, Daniel Day Lewis...). My favorite film is "Once upon a time in America" directed by Sergio Leone and recently restaured by Scorsese. As for the second question I have not studied english through films, series or television. The reason why relies on the fact that in Italy all films are dubbed either at cinema theatre or on the TV. I am not familiar to original small talks and fast lines in english and american films and I find it difficult to enjoy the vision without a good comprehention of the dialogues. New generations are luckier. They have Netflix and stuff like that and the english language grows on them. At my times english was not even avaible at school! I studied french in class and english on my own at home. Looking forward to hearing from your podcast be it the next one in August 2024 or the one I pick up from your archive. Take care It' time to say good bye, bbyyee bbbyyyeee
