I haven't managed to find an original creator for this particular design, at least not yet. But yeah, from what I've heard the level of plagiarism is ridiculous to the point of even driving the original designers to stop selling their work completely.
I've never trusted stuff like Wish, Temu, or Shein (especially since the story about the women who got chemical poisoning from shein came about), but their sketchy practices have prompted me to start planning how to crochet my own ita bag 😂 I refuse to give them money, so it forces me to get even more creative!
To be fair I heard Temu is going through a lawsuit for selling personal information including payment card info so I get not liking them. They always felt sketchy/too good to be true
It's just another shein, wish, etc site none of them are good for quality, accuracy, environmentally, humane the list goes on. Wish more ppl knew this and had better alternatives they could afford.
your content and creations deserve way more attention! I think you're one of the most entertaining and wonderful crocheters on UA-cam. please don't loose that spark, you are so very much appreciated ❤
The 🍵🐄 editing in the intro was funny! The first try of this vest looked good, I hope you enjoy wearing it once you make the adjustment to the junper :) I don't wear skulls, but the design turned out great.
Im so happy I never fell into the Temu trap! 😂 I refuse to buy anything from them.... I absolutely love how your pattern turned out!! 😍 I want to make a jumper now 😂❤
I love how the vest turned out!! I have refused to work with them as well. I know that many of these sites steal art and I just hate to promote them... that being said.... if you are buying supplies I get it. The global economy being so topsy-turvy; affordable shopping options are important. I just can't promote particularly the theft from small creators and makers.
That's exactly how I feel. I personally don't want to support or promote them (for a number of reasons) but given the whole cost-of-living crisis, I get why some people do.
Marketing emails are required by laws of various countries to have an unsubscribe button at the bottom. In the US the regulation is called CAN-SPAM for...some reason. Not that it necessarily means they'll listen, but there might be a way to report them if that button doesn't exist and there's nothing on the website. All else fails, block them. But by all means continue getting...inspiration from them in return for the annoyance. Spite is a key ingredient of the artistic process, after all! Anyway, I'm not even into skulls and those are some cool skulls.
I get a ton of 🫖🐄 ads on YT, but havent succumbed to purchasing from them. Judging from you and other commenters, looks like I dodged some drama? I LOVE your jumper! Your skill with wearables astounds me. It wasnt that many videos ago that you started to experiment. And to recover the back of the jumper and not frog/redo speaks volumes. Youve got the knack, for sure!! Speaking of skulls on clothing, I hope what I'm asking isn't an annoying Northern Hemisphere question, but here Halloween is synonymous with cold, plants dying back, trees shedding leaves, etc. Basically, life winding down for winter. What does Halloween "look" like in Australia as my pea-brain can't seem to square up creepy things with lengthening days, daffodils and hay fever. 🤔😊
That's a fantastic top. Don't change it to a jumper. It's super cute on you. You should also show off the inside because it's looks as fantastic as the front. Well, the front looks better but, from a crocheter standpoint, that neat tidy inside shows off your talent also.
This is one of my fave patterns of yours - I love how the fine white lines look like little bones 💀🖤 it would look cool as the vest with a skull hood, or add sleeves with arm bones into the pattern
I love it, as a design and as a T-shirt. Maybe narrower shoulders should have been a clue, try measuring your existing vests for measurements. You could always make it into a pillow ❤
I think you did a great job with the skulls! And younare right, TeaMoo does send out way too many emails and messages😅 I know, cause I buy a lot of crafting items from them. Mostly buttons and things that for some reason I can't find in my local Walmart and don't feel like.driving an hour in either direction to go to Michael's or JoAnn's just to find out THEIR limited selection also does not work for me. I do a lot of online gaming and because of that I get loaded up with Temu ads, but I just ignore them. I like some things, don't like others, and it really no different (to me) than ordering from Amazon. You are allowed to not like a company for whatever reason. I hate Hobby Lobby and that gets people's panties in a bunch 😂 But everyone has a reason for what they like or don't like and sometimes its just something people have to decide to either hate everyone that disagrees with them or let people live their lives because "its their life" Personally, when I saw that clip and you said you forgot to donthe shaping, I was hoping you would just turn it into a blanket. It would certainly be a fun blanket! I am just so impressed with your amount of focus on these bigger projects. Thats why I make amigurumi and baby stuff, because my attention span is like 0
Wow, great colourwork and it'll make a really nice jumper. It's cool to see your clothing makes progress over time. Your watermelon skirt was really cool too
I am not a fan of sweaters, vests, jumpers, or pull-overs, but I absolutely love this! I would probably even wear it if it had sleeves and buttoned up the front.
I can't find an original designer either, it appears to be a very popular design for companies to rip off. I've found a lot from random Amazon brands, Shein, Temu, and Ali Express. On the plus side it does look like the original may be knit which means it could be done on a machine. Probably still not ethical, but not as bad as crocheted items.
I wonder if you used a lighter yarn if your design would fit the vest measurements without changing much other than the sides of the panels.... oh lol you just said that! Anyway well done. You can forget the sleeves and call it a slip over which seems so popular these days
I love you. I have a hoodie pattern, bit like a snood with fox ears. Tea-Moo keep asking if I want to buy the made up garment.( they are using the same child models picture yadda yadda) Yeah...Nahhh. I'll make it myself.
I'm doing the same thing because of the same site except it's a drawstring mushroom pouch I'm designing (which sent me into a brainstorming session of all the cute pouch ideas I could make), down with 🍵🐄!
I have never cared for ☕ 🐄. It feels so wrong. I'm not sure that what they showed was actually crochet, from my limited view it looked knit. That doesn't matter because your design is SO COOL! I'm not into skulls but the argyle skull look works. In my very strong opinion no one should be buying crochet off those sights. Knit can be done with machines. Crochet cannot. Cheap crochet was made by hand. Hours of work they aren't getting enough money for.
I agree. When actual crochet pieces are being sold that cheaply, people are absolutely being exploited to make it. And yeah, I'm pretty sure the original is knit but it showed up when I searched crochet. I liked it so much I just had to count it 😂.
Considering Temu plagiarizes other people's work without their consent, and also harass creators non stop... This video is a polite way to tell them you don't want them or need them in your life!
True crochet can NOT be done by a machine, so they are selling knit imposters. crochet being sold for 15$ make me sick.. that’s why people see real prices and are like omg it’s so expensive… just bologna!
What program were you using for the graphing of your pattern at the beginning? Never seen it before but would be cool to try recreating Tea-Moo clothing, as well! Also, was skeptical about the Skull Vest but the pattern was so crisp, even if it didn't come together as originally planned due to the implanted memory XD
Leaping in unasked so apologies, but it looks like Photoshop with guides and/or grids edited to assist drawing/plotting. Then there a few ways of doing it, either with a graph or a table created with custom rows and columns to create and colour individual square cells… If I’m wrong I’ll hang my head in shame but, like you, I’m still interested to find out which app and how exactly it was done in this case.
Spot on. It's photoshop. I use a custom photoshop pattern I made to to create the grid and then colour in the cells either individually with the bucket tool (very tedious but more precise lol) or for large areas of colour, I'll create a new layer underneath using the rectangle/shape tool and adjust the size as necessary.
@@SkeinSpider I think your work is amazing btw and thankyou for replying to me! It made me chuckle to see the add! You got me having the confidence making cardigans and all sorts, when I get the money, I'll be straight on your Patreon, I'd love to support a creator as great as you!
i do buy from the site but mainly gardening/pet/kitchen supplies, and i have seen those crochet pieces. i also do crochet and when i see them i wanna yell so hard. 5 dollars for something i know it takes me a week or so. and people in the item comments doesnt know at all. hope it becomes more known that those items are not really machine made :/. your piece looks amazing. i still havent done a graph top. it looks very exciting and unique!

Oh wow with long sleeves that would be brilliant. A couple of my granddaughters love shein or what ever it's called as they both love clothes. They understand the process of how the clothes are made but being 11 and 10 they have little spending money! Itself a catch22 for hem. Personally I won't purchase of these sites as I feel they exploit fellow human beings. My opinion and unlike some people I'm not sat in the road blocking vehicles causing more pollution etc!!! I'm so glad you credited the actual designer. Temu is notorious for they're immoral senselessness of stealing hard working designers work

They also sell stolen artwork
On top of people also suing them for literally stealing designs, and also not sending what was advertised and refusing to do anything
They also use sweatshops to make some of their stuff.
Yes it is so much better than the one on Temu. Your talent is truly amazing.
