Like your mother, I too was married in 1968 and given The Better Homes and Garden Cookbook as a gift. Was also given a set of Corning Ware cookware and a set of the Pyrex Cinderella yellow nesting mixing bowls, all of which I am still using 56 yesrs later!

I am traveling East Germany including Eisenach, Erfurt, Radebeul and Dresden, visited Meissen Museum yesterday! Thanks to you MaryBeth, I learned about the Meissen Porcelain through this channel and here I am! So Happy~
In 1980 to 1983 my husband (and family) were stationed in Nellingen, Germany. Never one to sit at home, my girlfriends and I would pile into the travel van and explore Germany. We made it to Dresden on one fine day and what a day of shopping, it was one for the books. The Mark was over 2.50 per $ during those days..I still have some of my statues and of course a fine coffee set. Thanks for all the information you share, Lady Suzanne

Mini Cocottes with lids in Cerise red and in Provençal blue, 6 each @ $4.99 each. 3 Quart Round Dutch oven in Provençal Blue $6.99 I’d love to thrift the brasier (and will eventually). I am so happy you showed the square cake plate it's gorgeous and exactly what I am looking for. I just called they still have it and I bought it, I'm picking it up tomorrow. Thank you Mary Beth 😊
You are a class act to be made available to many, on UA-cam. Someone that is well educated and well traveled. Sharing your knowledge and design ideas; priceless. I just wish that I had more time to keep up more with your channel. As I have been so personally busy trying to get my own house together at age 63. Have to admit it’s tiring, because I don’t have the space that I used to have in my big old colonial house. I now have a 1950s ranch House that’s a fraction of the size, however I’m making everything work and I want to try to incorporate more of the early 60s late 50s contemporary motif as opposed to the Regency, American French Empire and Neo Classical that I had going on, before.
I have both the 1960’s version of the Better Homes and Garden cookbook and my mother’s 1940’s edition. It has been my go to cookbook for decades and I have never had a failed recipe. Mom used to cut recipes from the magazines and tuck them into her cookbook….so much fun to find comments in her handwriting!
This store is so cute. I loved how they displayed everything. I loved that strawberry 🍓 plate! I also loved that you are so famous now that they have LMB’s choice stickers on their stuff!
I would have bought the Le Creuset pots. The prices are sensational, the little Waterford clock would have ended up in my shopping basket and this great blue crystal juice pitchrs with the glasses made in Bohemia. Another inspiring shopping trip with the background information so typical of Mary Beth.
I knew you purchased the Waterford when I did not see a sticker on it, I love the shape of that!!! What a fantastic store, its a beautiful showroom with everything displayed so beautifully. I love the square cake plate. I have my Mom's Silvercrest milk glass one that she received as a wedding gift but I think a square one would be great for a display and keep my eyes out for one of those. So much wonderful history in your videos, the time you put into them makes they a history lesson besides beautiful eye candy!
I collect milk glass, so it's nice to see it displayed w other items. I'm definitely w you when it comes to crystal & silver. I adore it! Crystal is so beautiful when the light hits it just right. The linen & lace pieces were so pretty too. Although I don't need anything, I certainly saw several pieces I would love to have! 😉💖
Outstanding video!!!❤❤❤ I will always love traditional designs. Love the mid century so much, though. Especially, mid century classic contemporary. Not necessarily MCM.
@@LadyMaryBeth absolutely! I mean, after all a real home, no matter what era, always had items that were handed down or gained through travel, family, marriage that was added to the older existing pieces. The home should tell the story of the homeowner. In my opinion, of course. Lol!

Ohhhhh I love the apron in the window. I am trying to get some flow blue here in Tasmania, it is very hard to find here. I have the Better Homes and Garden new Cook Book, it isn't well known here in Australia, but I use it about once a month and I too use the pineapple upside down recipe in it.

Lady Mary Beth, please immediately trademark you motto “Elevate Your Everday”! I have just read an article about Meghan Markle in the U.K. ‘s Daily Mail and she is planning on using that phrase for her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. She doesn’t have an original bone in her body and she is ripping off other people’s ideas in her efforts to rival Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop. Please be aware and take action to protect yourself. I’ve watched you for years and if Meghan gets ahold of your motto she’ll trademark it and then come after you. Please look into this right away, I’d hate to see you hurt.
@@lisageilhausen1866 By the way, a trademark can only be secured for a specific type of product or business. The phrase is used by a salt company for example. Meghan is not that original as you say.
Thank you so much for your replies and information. The article alarmed me and I immediately wanted to warn you. I LOVE your channel and like I said previously, I wouldn’t want you to be hurt in any way. Meghan is a well known plagiarist and never gives the credit to the person when due.
