Correction. At 4:45 Pastor Nelson meant to say, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath."
The 7th day Sabbath was made before sin. It was blessed and sanctified by God before sin. It's a memorial to our Creator God and instituted at Creation.

I can accept that kindness or reject as I view it as a law, an imposition, when it is for our benefit. My Rest is in Christ daily, and he has freed me from the works of the law...but because I love him I will still keep his Sabbath, and other commands as the Spirit guides me. In the New Heaven and New Earth All Flesh will come and worship on His Sabbath.
@scented-leafpelargonium3366 boy..you read a lot onto and from nothing in my statement. Jews and gentile alike, old or new testament, if listening to and trusting God knew and believed by faith in a redeemer. Their rest was just as assured. Daily we rest in that assurance, and weekly on his Sabbath gather as commanded because of our love also. In this world 6 days we do have to work..but the 7th is his.

not being under the laws is stating that you gain no merit or "points" by keeping it. It does not make the law null and void. You believe and have faith in that which God did for you, and now with the Spirit guiding your life, you will follow it in your heart, and your actions and deeds will reflect a life that is in harmony with God's law and His will and not your own. We can find rest in Jesus everyday, but it's not the 9 Commandments now. The apostles kept the sabbath after Jesus death and resurrection. The Bible would have clearly gave us that new instruction if we no longer need to practice. As far as the Day. It's quite crystal clear if you study the word. Just my 2 cents. Shalom

Acts 2:46,47 they met daily and broke bread... eating a meal together does not mean they have changed Sabbath. Whenever you see a gathering for teaching and worship you will see that it is on the 7th day "as their custom was". Do some more digging in to this.

I disagree. Matthew 24;20 Jesus says "pray that your flight may not be in the winter or on the sabbath" He was describing the last days so this implies that the sabbath is eternal. The 10 commandments are timeless.
All the law is fulfilled in one Word even this. Love. Two things do all things hinge on. Love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. I think Jesus was trying to keep it simple.

4:07 maximum cope here. No, not even the Catholic Church does this level of mental gymnastics. They fully admit to moving the Sabbath and they call it "Sunday Obligation." The Orthodox church still observes the Sabbath but worships on Sunday. Looks like Got Questions got it wrong, very very wrong.

Jesus is not the sabbath. Jesus is the Lord God made flesh. The Lord God created the sabbath day and sanctified it, made it a holy day of rest, the fourth commandment, so that we should rest from our work and acknowledge HIM as our creator.
This claim that Jesus is the Sabbath Rest is just another deception to continue to allow people to observe the first day of the week, sunday, the venerable day of the sun, the holy day of the sun god, a pagan idol worship system, instituted as a day of worship by the Papacy, a commmandment of men and not the commandment of God.
Sabbath keepers fail to realize that the Sabbath is not only one day a week, but there is more than one Sabbath day in the Bible. The 15th day of the 1st month, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, was the Sabbath as well as the last day which was the 21st (could fall on any day of the week). Do you also keep the Sabbath during these times (and all the other times) that God told Israel to do so that are not specifically on a Friday/Saturday? No, I'm sure many of you don't. Yet you shout from the mountain tops that all who don't observe God's appointed Sabbath is a law breaker, when you yourself don't honor each Sabbath day God established to be observed. You will be judged according to your own wrongful judgement of others. The disciples were not condemned for "breaking" the Sabbath when they picked corn because really in fact, they were actually KEEPING THE SABBATH because they had put their faith in Jesus----they were "resting" in Him (who is the True Sabbath)!
The Old Testament is full of types and shadows. One might say well the Sabbath was before the Law of Moses. Yes, but show me one place before the Law of Moses were Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob weekly kept the Sabbath or God gave it to them to keep.
The Sabbath is indeed a sign just like many other things in the scriptures are foreshadows and signs pointing to the actual meaning. It is a sign pointing to it's true meaning----> Jesus Christ. "Come unto Me all who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest..." Jesus gives us "permanent rest" that we are able to enter once and for all that the Sabbath of the law could not give. Just as lambs, rams, and turtledoves were Old Testament signs of a better sacrifice to come, so the Old Testament Sabbath was simply a sign of a better DAY/REST to come. The Old Testament Sabbath is NOT the TRUE Sabbath because it is weak in that it can't offer permanent rest from one's works. However, Jesus does. The ceasing of manual labor was merely symbolic of God wanting us to enter into rest from all of our toiling to keep the law---"good works". Jesus did all the work, so that we could enter into SPIRITUAL Sabbath forever (which is greater---the rest of the flesh or the rest of a man's soul to God?). When we REST in Him by putting all our faith and hope in all the works of Salvation/Redemption that He has done for us, then we ARE KEEPING the Sabbath Day holy! So, resting in Jesus without observing the natural Sabbath is NOT breaking the Law, it's actually keeping the greater Spiritual Law which we are now under. For the Law of the Spirit of Life has set us free from the (natural) law of sin and death. Jesus did not come to abolish the Law/commandments, but He indeed came to fulfill it and reveal Himself through it and that includes the revelation of the Sabbath day actually being Jesus Christ Himself. We are to live by the Law of Spirit, not by the law of the flesh. What is the Law of the Spirit? It is the actual spiritual revelation of the natural old law. We are now commanded by God to live by the SPIRIT (Law) and not by the flesh (law). If we are born again in Jesus Christ, then we are born of the Spirit of God and have graduated from flesh to Spirit---graduated from the old schoolmaster (the law of Moses/natural law/for natural man) to the Holy Spirit (the Law of the Spirit/spiritual law/for supernatural man).
Observing the natural Sabbath today is just like thinking God is pleased because you pay your tithes every paycheck. They are nothing more than the rules and laws of the flesh. And when looked at closely, those who still think that they should be naturally living by them don't even obey God's commands as to how they should be observed. They observe them based on what their pastor etc. told them and never take the time to read about the different tithes God talked about and the different Sabbaths God ordered to be followed. So, in "keeping" the law, they break it by following after the teachings of men rather than the original commandments/laws of God in the Old Test. that they proudly claim to keep (nullifying It) and condemn others for not keeping the erroneous traditions of their fathers.
Some can't receive the true revelation of the Sabbath because their eyes have not yet been open to it. Some look in the Tabernacle and all they see is a torn veil, but others look deeper and see not a mere veil, but the flesh of Jesus torn so that we could gain access into the Presence of God. May God open each and every one of our eyes to truth always.

See Col. 2:16-17 the law including the fourth commandment was a shadow of good things to come, but the substance is Christ.
@@johnquinlanshortvideos3149 Reading comprehension? Those verses prove that the ceremonial laws were pointing toward Christ. Ceremonial laws = shadows. The Sabbath was in place prior to sin, prior to the need of a savior. Simple reasoning shows that the Seventh Day Sabbath cannot be a "shadow".
Understanding the origins of the Adventist will help you understand their religion. In the early 1800s the was a guy by the name of James ( if I remember correctly) Miller. He started the “millerites”. He predicted the return of Jesus several times in his lifetime. All of course turned out to be wrong. The last time his prediction fell through his church fractured into 2 groups. Those groups became the jehovah witness and 7th day Adventist. Both were started by false prophets and both teach works based salvation. Compare the Bible with things that Ellen G White says and you’ll find they are contradictory. Only one can be right. I also feel the need to point out “I suffer not a woman to teach” meaning God does not raise up female prophets. Not because they are inferior to men but rather because he has given men the leadership roles. Good luck, friend. Keep studying the KJV and you’ll get there.
The church claims to have taken the place of Israel, claiming all the blessings to Israel while completely ignoring the commandments given to Israel and those with them. The Sabbath is a sign between God and his people. If you aren't keeping well then are you His people?

If you're resting in jesus , aint you suppose to stop labouring, but you are labouring for jesus! How does that makes you rest? 2 thessalonians 3 says, if a man will not work, he shall not eat. So a man need to physically labour to provide for his family right. How does that makes him resting in jesus, yet still labour?

How can you enter into that sabbath rest?
By accepting and trusting Jesus as your payment for your sins by his death and resurrection. Turn to Jesus and receive by faith the gift of salvation. John 3:16 and Ephesians 2:8-9, Roman’s 10:9-10. Peace of Christ.
That way oversimplifies it. Don’t trust your soul to some yahoo on the internet that mischaracterizes a few verses to make it sound like you can waltz into heaven using some magic words of faith. Faith gets you washed, then obedience by practicing righteousness gets you approved. It requires both. Read the entire Bible from cover to cover (not the commentaries, you never know what you’ll find written by some yahoo in those!)… if you read the enter Bible yourself you’ll know when someone is trying to twist one part of it against another.

Hebrews says there REMAINS for the people of God a SABBATH REST (i.e. "Sabbath" as "Sabbath" or "Shabbat" in Hebrew means "REST," and you don't need to over compensate to describe it as with the English "Sabbath rest" as put by humans as one would say "Shabbat shabbat" [Sabbath-Sabbath or rest-rest] which is really what "Sabbath rest" here stripped down into the original context means).
The same verse in Hebrews tells us to ENTER INTO THAT REST or SABBATH/SHABBAT and warns of DISOBEDIENCE for not doing so. Look it up, its true meaning, not just allegorically.
Christians are so stubborn and unwilling to listen to God's own words about His Sabbath.

Last I checked, I’m still a sinner, even though I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Still walking around on this fallen/sinful creation called planet earth. Still needing new mercies, every morning I wake up. Still fully exposed to this sinful world, EVERYDAY! I don’t know about anybody else, but I need my sabbath rest in Jesus Christ, not just one day a week, but EVERYDAY of my life, here on out! Jesus Christ is our daily rest, and there is nothing left in this fallen world, that can satisfy The 10 Commandments. AGAIN, The 10 Commandments, are in The Kingdom Of Heaven, right now! They are safe with our Lord Jesus. How on planet earth, is there anything left here to PERFECTLY satisfy the law? The entire human race, sinners, that’s all there is left on earth, which also is the reason why the modern day church is also SINFUL by TRYING to ignore the law as a simple GUIDELINE to our love commands by our Lord Jesus, and justify covering up a multitude of practicle sins(sexual sins for example), just to fill pews/seats in church and collect something called MONEY for the coffers! Jesus Christ, died for US ALL, while we were ALL yet still sinners. He died for ALL our sins: past present, and future. The ONLY commandment left on planet earth:

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.
Part of the act of loving your neighbor, is sharing of the good news: not only by our words, but also by our actions. Again, we will fail so many times(as part of our future sins), and just need to get right back up every morning of The Lord’s new fresh mercy, and try again.
And likewise, then love yourself, like Jesus loves you, and have fresh mercy for yourself when you fail, as Jesus has fresh mercy for you!
The law is our guidelines to help us pursue those commandments. We will have many days when we fail, hence the Lord died for our past present and future sins.
This is SALVATION. It is a FREE gift. We ALL need salvation.
Is there something else, after salvation comes? For SOME people, and NOT ALL people, there is something called discipleship. And oh boy, so many people in the church today, have salvation and discipleship all mixed up and all out of balance with each other, with many parts of God’s word taken out of context and not properly divided.
I once felt the leading to discipleship when I was in my early 20s and single, after I got saved. I missed my calling by my own faults and poor/foolish decisions. I am now a husband and dad. That is my duty. Will my calling to discipleship ever be redeemed? I have no idea. I will forever be a child of God’s. I may never reach the ‘zenith’ of discipleship. I am still commanded to love my neighbor as myself, everyday of my life - here and in Heaven. I am at this point in time, however, obviously not qualified to comment on the further workings of discipleship.

@@Salvation4allnations then Jesus can't be the Sabbath. Sabbath has rest in it, but it is not rest. Sabbath was created, Jesus isn't. Sabbath existed before sin, Jesus came because of sin. So all Jesus did was remove the prohibition around the Sabbath, he didn't replace it.

So how do we keep the sabbath day Holy everyday without breaking the 10 commandments? We are to rest from our secular labor and rest everyday. Do we just make up our own day to keep holy and not labor at all and devote a day to God and worship God…, 1. We shouldn’t have other gods before Him, 2. we should not make any graven images for ourselves, 3. we are not to use God’s name in vain, 4. (skipped this part I don’t know why), 5. honor your father and mother, 6. do not kill, 7. do not commit adultery, 8. do not steal, 9. do not lie, 10. do not covet.
Now do we just have just 9 commandments???

If everyday is the day of the lord, what are we doing to keep everyday holy, I know WE should be holy everyday but keeping the/a day holy is different.

Thank you so much! Jesus is my sabath rest. This appears to be a stumbling block with legalisms in the church these days. Like which day is the real sabbath? Saturday or Sunday? Like the time I was watering the church garden one Sunday after service and told by an elder not to do that on the sabath.

@@manilynch5933 Jesus is our sabbath rest. We rest completely in Him. I do take a day of rest thou. Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabath when he was confronted by the Pharisees. The book of Hebrews makes this clear. Hebrews 4. We stop all our works trying to get right with God by the Law. We are right with God by Jesus now. We totally can rest. I love that! But believe resting one day is a good thing physically, emotionally, spiritually for sure. If the whole world would do this, I think it would be a calmer place, but most don't want too. Apostle Paul made that clear and the Apostles of the church age even took the gathering day away from Saturday, the Jewish sabbath and they met on the first day of the week which is Sunday. That is in Acts. We are not under the law, but we are saved thru Jesus now. He fullfilled the law. Colossians 2:10-. We now have a continuous Sabbath resting in Him, not trying to achieve our own righteousness.

@@NateCoxey holiness is what God wants for us. We are to live for Jesus and thru His Holy Spirit 7 days a week. We rest in what He did for us to unite us back with God. But sanctification is setting us apart for a holy lifestyle. But the law was our school master. The Ten Commandments are still God's will for our lives. God writes His laws on our heart. I go by my personal experience of 38 years as a woman of Jesus, saved, sealed and sanctified. It's a process. I've messed up a lot but grown in grace, and I'm living a much more holy life now than when I was first saved. God does not save us so we can still remain slaves to sin. We are now slaves to righteousness but the Holy Spirit changes us. He is the author and finisher of our faith. Everytyhing is from Jesus. We can't boast in one thing. Even our faith is a gift from Jesus. It's His grace. I long to be holy now because the Holy Spirit putt hat in me. I have no problems whatsoever with my doctrine. I'm 100% convinced in the word of God and the Holy Spirit in me. I have that total assurance. Only the Spirit can give.

We are grafted in. We are not under the Levitical law. The Mosiac law, B UT God laws are written in our heaet we are lead by the Spirit and want to live holy. Jesus said the sabath was made for man not man for the sabath. The religious leaders tried to catch him many times on the Sabath when he was eat in the fields with the disciples and he mentions how David ate of the show bread in the temple, he was ridiculed for healing on the sabath and said we should do good on the sabath. I believe in one day of rest but I'm not under a legal mindset. I go by Jesus. He made it clear. He was our role model. If you are going to be under the law keep it entirely. If you are going to be under Grace, live it. You cannot mix the law and Grace without it becoming another doctrine. I'm all for a day of rest. Aaamen! Its surprising how many Christians today are still living under the old law. I just left a church who was teaching Deuteronomy 28 as a being blessed and cursed for not obeying the law of God, as well as being cursed for not tithing and keeping the sabbath. @@mitchellosmer1293 If you want to "rest in Christ" every day without a physical day off work that's up to you, but God provided one physical day off from work once a week which people can ignore if they wish, but those who get a day off after six days labour can still "rest in Christ" spiritually as you say, but are thankful not to work 7 days a week.
