Well it’s also the fact that lebron is 39 he doesn’t have 5+ years to complete a full rebuild. Mindswell build around him and AD while you have them and then when one of them go u can start a rebuild. They don’t need much they just need players who can be consistent and they can make a serious playoff run

A superteam is when established stars join forces to create a "superteam", like Phoenix today or Miami Heat ten years ago with LeBron, or when KD joined the warriors. Since MPJ, Jamal, and Jokic (plus P Wat and Braun), we’re all drafted and developed by the Nuggets, they as far from a superteam as you can come. While that is enough to not make them a superteam, we should remember that Jokic still is the only All star. Neither Gordon, MPJ, or even Jamal have been voted as all stars once. So yeah, not even close.

Pelinka didn’t get a REAL center. AD was always more effective and wanted to play at small forward.
Lakers need 3 & D rebounding players, scoring was not the issue they lost cause they didn’t close certain possessions after getting stops and letting Denver get second chance points.

Well folks had no problem talking 24/7 about Iowa(Women Basketball) that lost as opposed to talking about SC that went undefeated for the entire season. But they are up in arms about ESPN talking about the Lakers.
We should get Alex Crueso from the Bulls and a big physical center. Alex played really well with Lebron and plays great defense. A.D. needs some help. A big physical defensive center will help him and the Lakers really well.

It's simple imo for Lakers moving forward. Gotta move on from Ham and gotta fill out your roster with more consistent role players and especially a legitimate back up big. Lakers had a lead in 70% of the series statistically which is crazy to think about. They had a halftime lead in every game and had double digit leads in nearly every game. They lost on 2 game winners. These two teams are very close the problem is the nuggets are better coached and they have better role players.
Ham- failed to use timeouts, failed to make in game adjustments, at a certain point of each game throughout season stopped running plays for no apparent reason which killed the offense. He didn't use the 5 man lineup that got them to wcf until nearly 60 games into season. Had he had common sense and used it from start they are a top 4-5 seed. 17-6 when they played together.
At the end of the day you have a decent coach and your role players put up average performances and you win this series that's basically what it came down too. Run it back with Bron and AD but make the proper changes to roster and coaching.
Comes down to whats more important to bron right now a future purchase of a nba team or the ability of having a good team with consistently productive players

You shouldnt fire a coach based on the success/failure of the team. You fire a coach if he consistently makes wrong decisions. Win or lose, Dopey Darvin FAR more often than not makes the WRONG decision

Lakers shot 29% from deep against Denver it was 35% in the WCF last year really through most of their playoff run but then all the roster moves again pretty sure Ham didn't make all those choices so for me the Lakers did pretty well with the roster they had. Not sure what coach is going to figure out how to win in the West without a supporting cast

Markkanen, Valanciunas, McGee, Sabonis. If they get 2 from these, that's good. If they get 3, the better. So that they always have 2 big men inside, alternately. They may also add Naz Reid and Jalen Suggs. Keep their defensive players like Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent, Max Christie and Dinwidee. Or maybe,
maybe, they can get from free agency bigger, athletic wing players, say 6'8" in height with shooting and defensive ability.

Nuggets and T wolves copied our blueprint in 2020 and look how much success it brought them. Dlo and Reeves are good for what they are, with the trio of them and Bron we don’t really need another main ball handler. But I actually think another high volume scorer would hurt and be destructive to the way we should play. The superteam era is done. Maybe a bit more of a defensive or soul playmaking point guard would help sure like Rondo was for us but we really need to go big again to compete. We need Dwight Howard who is amazing for the minutes and role he played and someone tall and long like McGee was back then. Also yeah any wing player would be amazing. Should never had let Kuzma and Caruso go. Also KCP. But they’re all exactly what the team needs

The West is getting bigger, more physical, and athletic on the perimeter.
Booker, SGA, Williams, Doncic, PG3, and especially Ant-Man.
The Lakers are "too small"' on the perimeter.
LeBron needs to move to PG (like 2020).
They need a physical SG to d-up previously mentioned guards, like DeMar DeRozan.
And yes, they need depth at the PF/C like they had in 2020 with Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee.
They won't compete with Denver or rising Minnesota and Dallas as a result.
Trae Young is a stellar player, but he has been stagnant in his development since 2021, and the league is no longer the 3pt shooting/no defense league that Golden State Established for a new "marketing refresher".

The Lakers getting Trae Young would be the most Jeanie Buss Lakers move of all time. Another small, inconsistent player that needs the ball in their hands.
Lakers don't need a third star. They need to keep Austin Reaves and get more role players like him. The thing that set them back was getting rid of Caldwell Pope and Alex Caruso. They need to find more players like that. Go get a Malik Monk from Sacramento or get like Mikael Bridges from the nets. They need guys that can catch and shoot and play defense.
The big man the lakers need is Dwight Howard i dont care what anyone says Dwight would be PERFECT! All they need him for is to bang down low, grab rebounds and protect the paint. AD is not the center he got bumped and acted like he got shot. Dwight is more than capable of that.
It is not enough. Let's bring Embiid,Tatum,Booker,Curry,KD,SGA,Jokic and Luka. Maybe than the selfproclaimed King will have enough help.

Ice is a fun player to watch and IF the Lakers had enough assets to get him this would be a conversation but they don't not even close. Murray never had to expend energy on any worthwhile lakers.
No body is talking about Max Christy. He’ll play defense and should give you 12-20 points a game and is a hustle player. If we get Alex C. from the Bulls. We can rotate Austin Reaves, Alex C., Max Christy. That will improve our defense along with Vando. We also need a defense big physical center. We should be good for the present and be nicely set up after Lebron retires. We will have money and draft picks available.

Number one is coaching. The Lakers number one problem is they underachieved due to inferior coaching. After they identified a good coach, they need a big defender at the center position to come off the bench and they need a consistent scorer at the point guard position. Rui and Reaves will get better and Vando will be healthy. Just small tweaks at key roles.
I don't think they underachieved. They overachieved, with the remarkable health of Lebron and AD. Seriously, look at their games played the past 5 years. It's shocking that even one of them played 70 games, let alone both.
