Enchanting...Male harmonies are so thrilling when done so precisely. This group is no longer together but we have this perfect performance to remember them by.
Adieu, sweet lovely Nancy, ten thousand times adieu, I am going across the ocean, love, to seek for something new. Come change your ring with me, dear girl, Come change your ring with me, that it might be a token of true love when I am out at sea. And when I'm far out at sea you'll know not where I am. Kind letters I will write to you from every foreign land. The secrets of my mind, dear girl, And the best of my good will, So let your body be where it might, my heart will be with you still. There's a heavy storm arising, see how it gathers round, While we poor souls on the ocean wide are fighting for the crown. There's nothing to protect us, love, no keep us from the cold, On the ocean wide, where we must fight like jolly seamen bold. There's tinkers, tailors, shoemakers, lie snoring fast asleep, While we poor souls on the ocean wide are plowing through the deep. Our officers commanded us, as them we must obey, Expecting every moment for to get cast away. But when the wars are over, there'll be peace on every shore, We'll return to our wives and our families, and the girls that we adore. We'll call for liquor merrily, we'll spend our money free, And when our money is all gone - we'll boldly go to sea.
Hugely enjoyable rendition of this folk classic. Well sung and with real passion. These guys are young enough for at least three 'reunion' tours! Can't wait. Love and peace.
at a cafe near my university a group like this came in after a concert at the auditorium across the street i think and got a table near the front. they started singing, and i've never seen women actually swoon before then or since
Hi Marek, the song over the credits as sung by the Ballina Whalers is 'The Wreck of the Dandenong' which you can listen to (and buy) here: theballinawhalers.bandcamp.com/album/pull-down-below-ep-iii
I found this after tracking down the music used in a documentary about Captain Cook. Beautiful singing and arrangement. Here's the documentary : ua-cam.com/video/H6Fz88l2vlo/v-deo.html Are these guys still singing together?

gazmjas I always knew it as “the secrets of your heart dear girl are the best of my good will”.
@@alexander6399 i've written just like they singed, and for my modest opinion its better than classical song.

Captain James Cook brought me here.
Same here.....fantastic documentary and sublime singing.
Does anyone know who sings the fade out track? Is it the Ballina Whalers, too?
