- The Nintendo Switch has been popular with collectors since it's release in 2017, but with the Switch 2 likely right around the corner we are seeing the price of certain games going up. Due to re-sellers (scalpers) or hype around some franchises, the future of Switch game prices is pretty unpredictable. This video takes a look at the most expensive Nintendo Switch games today, in 2024.

I have DOS2 sealed I paid good money for it but a lot less than the cheapest copy on eBay rn. It's only going to go up I'm sure. I got a used PS4 copy to play but I haven't yet.
It's kind of funny to see the number one spot still at number when there was a time that the standard Pirate's Curse was selling for $600+ regularly and over $1000 for the collector's edition. Now its $350+ but looks like the Collector's edition is around $750+
Yeah I saw it listed for $500+ about a year ago but I don’t think it was ever actually selling for that. Big difference between listed price and selling price
Dragon's Lair Trilogy is up there too.
Jeez i forgot that skylanders went for that much. Still have my day one copy and got lucky and found another complete in box at a yard sale last year for just a couple bucks.

I saw skylanders at a retro game store the other day and I was baffled bruh why is skylanders 125 😭😭😭 nobody buying that. But now I kinda want it because that’s funny and same with Fortnite’s disc on Xbox and PlayStation it’s so expensive even tho the digital version is free.
Yeah it’s definitely not worth the money unlike some games on this list (FF Pixel Remaster), but if I ever see it for under $100 I’m pulling the trigger!
Have these been affected by overall price inflations too, or are they enough of a niche market that overall cost of living type increases is not a factor? To me they see pretty independent of that kind of thing, but it might be interesting to look at.
I think they are mostly impacted by being out of print and pretty limited quantities!
Outlast 2 is the only game there that I would even consider playing. Lol. Thankfully it seems my favorite games are usually the inexpensive switch games.
xenocrisis and fox n forest are games that should be here. games i want but maybe not for the prices they ask lol \

Yeah that was just for the sake of keeping the video uniform, it get's confusing once you start including all regions and variants

Celeste is cheap now due to the rerelease, thankfully. Any idea why is Shantae 3, specifically, so expensive? Makes no sense.
Also, I really wish they do a reprint of The Messenger, the entire game can fit on a 1GB Switch cart.
Ah you’re right most versions are cheapish now, the best buy print is still pretty pricey though!

I knew Super Mario 3D Allstars would be rare, so I bought it quickly. I wish I could buy FF Pixel remasters, but scalpers made it bad for everyone. Now its around 175.....what a shame

Of all the games you have on the main list(Not the Honorable mentions like Celeste and Mario 3D All Stars, which I own), the only game I have on that list is Skylanders Imaginators. I bought it when Toys R Us was going out of business, and I still have it to this day, un-opened. I may open it one day to play it.
If you keep it sealed you'll likely be sitting on a small fortune in the future. ;)
