- The 1st Battalion Welsh Guards marching through Presteigne on Tuesday 10th May 2011, to be given the freedom of the county of Powys in a ceremony at the Judges lodgings, Shire Hall, Presteigne.
Well, this American appreciates every British, Welsh, Scots and Irish soldier, sailor, airman and Royal Marine who stood with us in Afghanistan and Iraq. May God bless and keep the United Kingdom, her armed forces and the democracy they protect. Bravo!!
Ryan a strange comment from an Englishman? We usually get that sort of drivel from the SNP or whatever the welsh equivalent is. Or the IRA
@Ryan fair, it comes and goes. I only supposed you were english due to your profile picture being a red cross
@Ryan good stuff
What an awesome sight! Great sound, great march! God Bless! God Save the Queen!
Ha ha she's dead now.
Long Live America!
Thank you, and we appreciate your kindness, as there is much needless hostility at times between our two incredible nations.
These guys do a brilliant job and need all the support you can give them. What a great marching band!!
12 anos atrás mais é Maravilhoso wonderful 👏😍
Superbly awesome camera quality for a 2011 UA-cam video 😄👍👍

Great job! I support the British and American troops all the way!

Scott,
At least in the UK, your regiments parade through the towns and cities when they come home. Here in the USA, our troops come home and for the most part are only met on US bases by their families and loved ones. We have no tradition of "freedom of the city" as you do. I served alongside British troops and have stated publicly that if I cannot serve with Americans, then I want to be with UK forces.
While I prefer performing field shows, a good old parade always looks nice too
This NYer thinks these guys look absolutely terrific. Go Wales.
I didn't know that. Well, I hope you're happy with your career choice whichever way you decide to take.
Excellent band and troops. I only wish there were many more spectators. Was this on the outskirts of town? Was their arrival well publicized? Why so few spectators?
Do you mean publicised?
Bendith Duw Gymru.
From England.
It's Powys very large area not many people there.
What people should realise is that soldiers are people too, so get off your lazy arses and give those boys and girls what they deserve: RESPECT!
One of these days you might need them ...
Thank you.
It's a shame that the british society doesn't appreciate the armed forces as much as the Americans do theirs. It really is sad.
I just want to point out too that British stands for all English, Welsh, Scottish and Northen Irish. It's just how you typed it, I'm sure you know :)
Not for the Grenadiers or Coldstream. They receive tumultuous reception.
What's the march called
Muhammad Naveed: It's called "Scarlet and Gold“
yeah roger that dude yeah it sucks here ok so im a us marine but welsh
looked like gsm billy mott at the back . cymru am byth boys
Smashing! Not sure what the CSM is doing at the rear of the parade with uniformed members? All that duck and bother when his Company is marching ranks dressed? The RSM would have something to say about that and "his" Regiment.
im a Royal Marines iv been out there 5 times now ans seen so meny boys and girls die for britain are we scared yes but we do the job we are payed for in not nice knowing you may not make it home i can tell you
Not necessarily, watch the Royal Irish Rangers homecoming!

Britain isn't what it once was.
True... We were once great, but times have changed and things have happened since.
